The date and mileage I entered are approximate. For several months, I have been able to remove the key from the ignition switch when the key is in the run position. At times, I have turned off the ignition and removed the key; and then had difficulty inserting the key the next time I went to use the vehicle. The key slot position is not in the off position, but in the run or accessory position. This seems like it could lead to a problem if the key should come out of the switch when I am driving. I assume I would be surprised, and instinctively reach to pick up the key. This could lead to an accident while I was distracted looking for the key. I believe this is not acceptable, and gm should replace the defective ignition switch. *tr

I am the 2nd owner of my Saturn vue 2006. Since I acquired the vehicle I have been able to remove the key while the vehicles is: running, stationary or driving, in-gear or not. I've always thought of this as a unique feature (it's been surprisingly helpful!). Today I saw something about a "gm ignition switch recall" (no, I don't live under a rock, I just missed this). I entered my VIN and it didn't come back with a recall associated with it, so this might not even be an issue? I just want to be certain in case this is a dangerous "feature". Thank you for checking for me!

In addition, when the vehicle was turned off, the key failed to disengage from the ignition. The dealer stated that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 Saturn vue. While driving 40 MPH, the contact slammed on the brakes and struck a dog. The front fender and bumper were damaged. The contact was not injured. The fog lights were detached from the vehicle and the air bag warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The air bags failed to deploy. The dealer stated that the air bags did not deploy because the seat heater circuit was connected to the air bag sensor. Repairs could not be made to the air bag or air bag sensor because the element burned out. The failure and current mileages were less than 50,000.
Have been able to remove key when not in off position for years. Frightening that this could happen also while driving. Also have had some scary incidents where the key would be stuck in the ignition. It took a lot of pulling and tugging and sweat to get it out. Why hasn't this been recalled for 2006 vue's??!! This is extremely dangerous. *tr
It is difficult to turn the key in the ignition at times. I am forced to rotate the wheel to the locking position, turn it to the middle of the lock and turn the key with excessive difficulty. In other situations, it is incredibly easy to remove the key when the ignition is not in the off position. *tr

2006 Saturn vue passenger airbag sensor indicates off intermittently when adult is seated. Also, the passenger heated seat inoperable. The contact stated that while driving at a slow speed under the 50 MPH speed limit, the vehicle slid on a patch of black ice; the contact was able to correct the vehicle. The contact stated that there was snow on the ground. Soon afterwards, the vehicle slid on another patch of black; the vehicle slid across the road and hit the embankment head-on. The contact stated that none of the air bags deployed. A police report was filed. Afterwards, the contact and the contact's daughter stopped by the clinic. The airbag light comes on intermittently. My Saturn repair center says there is a problem in the wiring in the passenger seat. The problem is interrelated to the passenger heating system and the passenger presence sensing system. I am having the problem fixed. I am finding out that this problem is being reported by others. Saturn should be held responsible for fixing this problem so that it cannot recur in the future at their expense. It is obviously an engineering flaw that is putting my safety and the safety of others at risk. I have reported this problem to general motors and they have taken no action. *tr
Airbag system sensors for 2006 Saturn vue are failing. A light is indicating that airbags will not inflate in the event of a collision. This occurred just after my 60,000 mile warranty had expired. I was told this would not be covered by Saturn as a warranty item. I feel this is a safety issue that should be covered and replaced by general motors. The vue currently has 88,000 miles. The vehicle will not protect passengers in the event of a collision in it's current state. Correction made to year in description. Updated ivoq 01/19/11 *tr
steering 3 complaints shown
Vehicle experienced burning smoke emissions and a burning odor from the steering wheel / steering column area where the wipers and signal light/highbeam headlight switches are connected. The smoke emissions and the burning odor appeared to be triggered by the turning signals or from activation of the headlights. For safety purposes, the vehicle was turned off and parked; however, the headlights continued to illuminate after the headlights were shut off. Eventually, the car battery died; but the headlights continued to illuminate; headlights were finally extinguished with disconnection of battery cable.
When you try to start the car when it's cold, all of the interior and exterior lights come on, radio comes on, and then the lights and radio go off and the power steering stops working. After a few attempts and about 5 minutes pass, it works properly. Some times, unexpectedly, all the lights in the car start flashing, the locks on the doors lock and unlock repeatedly while driving. We've replaced the transmission, the ignition switch, the alternator, and have a brand new battery (2x in 6mo). This car is possessed! I worry for the safety of my teenage daughter while driving this car.
My car is very rusted out, underneath the body and no one will work on my car because they feel it's a hazard to drive and work on. I went to an iron works shop and mechanic said it's a common problem with Saturn Vue's,I took it back to where I bought it because they knew it before I bought it . All they wanted to do was put me ina sports car,my car is a hazard to drive it plus I have 1 more year to pay for it. Seems like something could be done about this

While driving the road the vehicle started to lose power. The further I drove the less power I had until the vehicle stalled. I was able to start the vehicle after a few minutes but when I stepped down on the gas pedal it stalled. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer on saturday evening. The dealer contacted me on monday and said that the electric fuel pump was faulty and he would have to order one from the factory. I picked up my vehicle on tuesday evening and it appeared to be running fine for the momment. I made thee quarters of the way home and the vehicle started losing power again. I attempted to turn around and go back to the dealer but the vehicle stalled out like before. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer again and the new fuel pump had to be replaced again. I pic

Tamara recall. The back driver's side door stopped latching when closed. When driving, the door will randomly swing open. The latch to lock the door has to be manually tuned and then the door has to be held in the closed position and locked from the inside to latch.
