This is then second time the ignition switch on my 2006 Volvo xc 90 has failed. The original was replaced with a new switch and now that replacement switch has also failed. This should not be a part that fails twice in 7 years. *tr

the drivers side electric seat controls are causing unsafe driving conditions. i drive with the seat all the way back and down. I have the memory sets all for that position. Problem is when I get back in the car it will be back up and forward al the way. So i will set it back down. Well while ia m driving it will automatically start raising back up and forward. As you can imagine this gets very uncomfortable and feels like i am getting choked to death. I will set it back and it will keep doing that . I will hear clicking and then it will start moving. sometimes. i will have to hold my finger on the down button to keep it from moving on me while im driving, sometimes it will still move all the way up while i am holding the button down. and then it will get all the way forward and the b

Owned car 2nd hand for 2 years now. The past 2 weeks my turning signal, drivers side mirrors, interior lights, display counsel flashes on and off. Especially when I use turning signal. Being told ECM box water gets into system. Volvo does not support their product. So disappointed. I was ready to buy a new xc60. Not a chance. *tr

Anti-skid error keeps coming up on my 2006 8 cyl Volvo xc90. Dealer unsure how to diagnose. I am concerned my anti lock braking and 4 wheel drive will not work. Is this a known defect in Volvo xc90's of that year? *tr

Intermittent lighting failure in the Volvo xc90 2006 model. The headlamps just fail. Volvos are supposed to be safe. My family and I could have been seriously injured or worse. I have spent thousands of dollars to fix the issue and I still have the problem. I can not drive at dusk or at night because of this. *tr

2006 Volvo xc90 headlamp failure. Wa.state Volvo rep. Denies intermittent headlamp failure exists. This is a huge safety issue. The Volvo headlights just fail when the vehicle is being driven! I and many others approx.93,487 owner's of this vehicle have spent thousands of dollars having Volvo service dealer's unable to correct the serious problem. This should be a priority safety recall and Volvo should immediately send out a service bulletin to all dealerships. Apparently Volvo does know this problem exists and has purposely chosen to not correct the problem or to acknowledge the serious safety issue. Volvo owner's are at risk of serious injury or death. While driving the Volvo the headlamps flicker and fail . The driver usually a mother with children in the car is suddenly plunged into d

I drove home from work and messages started to appear warning me of the engine not working properly, low beams not working. Drove it home. Turned it off & wipers would not stop. We unhooked the battery cable using the manual. Took it to have battery tested, bad cell. Replaced battery & wipers quit working, air bag light warning came on. Took to mechanic to have wiper motor tested, it was fine. Took to Volvo, they wanted to replace wiper motor, told them that was not the only problem. Took to different Volvo and they diagnosed, after three hours, the cem was corroded due to a crack in the box that houses it. Wanted $3500 for the repair. I left without it and started to research it. Found out Volvo acknowledged a fault in the seal in a traffic safety report. Contacted Volvo about the repai

Shortly after 14,000 miles, we took our 2006 Volvo xc90 in to have our tires rotated and balanced. The tire dealership would not even touch the tires but advised us to go directly to Volvo because the tires were an extreme safety hazard. After about a month and repeated phone calls, Volvo did replace the tires, charging us for one tire. There have been numerous reports of bad pirelli tires on the 2006 xc90. Volvo blames pirelli; pirelli blames Volvo. There have been no recalls on the tires, although Volvo in tallahassee made reference to a memo from Volvo alerting them to the problem. We feel fortunate that we caught the problem before we or others were injured and are appalled that Volvo has done nothing to inform the owners of the danger. Our problem is fixed, at least momentarily,

Sunday, june 29, 2008 driving on I-83 south approaching md 695, rear right tire shredded and blew. Tire driven less than 18,000 miles. Returned to dealership next day. We were informed tires were defective and had to replace both rear tires at a cost of $489. We now have concern for the safety of the front tires. Have researched this car after I bought it used from a small dealership and seems like a large problem with all types of Volvo's. I had my car for a couple days, shop noticed there was an oil leak. Turned out to be the rear main seal. Dealership would not fix it even though it was within warranty. Saved up for 2 months straight to pay $1100 cash out of pocket to get it fixed by my personal mechanic. Right before I took it in to get the work done, the transmission was shifting hard while driving in city. Highway it was fine. Had the seal replaced, transmission flushed before putting back together thinking it would solve problem. Nope! So I saved up once again to go to the actual Volvo dealership and pay $200 out of pocket for a reflash ed and software update on the transmission. Didn't work

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle manufacturer installed the wrong size tires on the vehicle causing the tires to wear prematurely. The service dealer ordered a new set of tires in a smaller size. The wheel ball bearings also had to be replaced after a knocking sound was detected. The service dealer determined this was due to not enough grease in the wheels. The contact also expressed concern over the seat belt warning indicator, which will only activate and illuminate as the vehicle starts and will not stay on for the ride duration if the seat belt is not worn.
