Takata recall I have received a recall for airbags in my vehicle I'm scared to drive my vehicle especially when my kids are in the car. Just to know the airbags could come out at anytime. I love my car but would like to drive it knowing everything is okay an we are safe.

In august of 2009 I noticed when I had a front seat passenger I would get an instrument panel indicator warning light of "airbag readiness". Also, the passenger airbag status indicator in the overhead console was register as being "off". This failure was never intermittently -- it just failed. I went through the procedures of the owner's manual for possible corrections: 1. Have front passenger adjust weight while seated, move or position seat in a upright position, then turn vehicle "on and off". 2. Check for items under the seat for items and adjust seat belts. The last week of november I took the vehicle into the dealership for recall of NHTSA id#10v2400000. At that time I addressed the problem of the failure of the airbag system to the Cadillac representative. He stated "

Side air bags deployed in contacts car. On star had not been working. Contact told by dealer that they were not going to repair anything on the car until the investigation was completed. Took car in and spoke with advisor and was told they would work on it and let him know when the car would be ready. Later received a call stating that they were not going to fix the car because the on board computer said that there was side impact. Contact told the advisor that the car had no damage on the car or underneath the car. Advisor said that there was a scratch and a dent on the tire and the rims. A contact said that a friend had drove through a car wash and messed scratched and dented the 24 in non-original tires on his car. The contact has not been able to drive the car for over a month

Takata recall - gm issued a recall for our vehicle in may, 2016 and to this date, dealers are still reporting no parts available to fix the defective air bags. We contacted Cadillac customer service about this and we're told it may be several more months before parts are available or NHTSA closes the recall without repairs. The problem is we've been trying to trade the car in on a new vehicle, however no dealers want the vehicle as they cannot resell them with a pending recall and no parts are available to fix it. What is our recourse in making a claim with gm against the amount they have devalued our vehicle?

The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer (crest Cadillac, 12800 west capital dr, brooksville, wi) were notified of the failure. The contact stated that he received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags) in june of 2016. The contact was informed that the parts to repair the failure were not available. The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that upon approaching the parked vehicle, he discovered that all the air bags had deployed without impact. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnostic test; however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the air bag deployment. The contact then discovered that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V050000 (Air Bags). The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.

Steering wheel heater no longer works since incident. *tr heated driver seat no longer works after smelling burning in car. Escalade having same issues as everyone else. Oil pressure due to poor build and cut backs on general motors behalf. A unit with a price up words of $70-$80k should not have the issues. We as the customers and the victims should not pay the price and our own lives (families lives) for a companies selfishness. Passenger seat control module burnt due to yet another faulty gm product. They seam to not care and want to fix the issues that can again lead to harm to anyone in and around the vehicle. I still own this vehicle but it has been a utter disgrace of what kind of products we have been sold. To this day would like to know why the company recalls parts that would cost them nickels and dimes and not the major items that can lead to disasters like death. For crying out loud they replaced m

Noticed excessive exhaust fumes inside the car while at idle during stops. All windows up during winter season driving. Inspected exhaust system for leaks. Noticed exhaust manifold bolts on both sides of engine missing and subsequent leaks at each exhaust port with missing bolts. Noticed excessive rusting and corrosion of exhaust manifold and bolts. This seems to be caused by a metal defect creating premature corrosion of exhaust manifolds and bolts. Intern, causing exhaust leaks and excessive amounts of exhaust gases under hood an in the cabin. This is a major safety concern to me and my family. Please investigate. *tr

Flashing of headlights during daytime hours does not work when the headlamps are in the automatic mode. The automatic mode turns the headlamps on during evening periods & off during daylight hours. This should not be a part time feature. In order to use the "flash to pass" during daylight hours, the headlamps must be taken out of the automatic mode. I believe this hinders the ability to use the headlamps for a safety warning. *tr

The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that after plugging the electric air pump into the cigarette lighter socket, smoke was suddenly present coming from the lighter socket and the engine compartment. After opening the engine hood a small flame, smoke, and burning was present coming from the dashboard wire harness. The contact was able to extinguish the flame. The fire department was called to the home but did not visit after the flame was extinguished. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 180,000.
