The recall was issued may 2016. We received notice july 2016. It is now end of december 2016. Chevrolet states the vehicle is 'safe to operate'. The recall states that it may 'cause serious or fatal injuries' if it deploys. On the face of this, the vehicle may not be safe to operate. When can I expect to have this recall completed?

The dashboard on my avalanche has developed a fairly significant crack right next to the passenger side airbag. The crack starts from towards the windshield side and leads up to and terminates at the crevice where the airbag is located. This in my opinion jeopardizes the integrity of the airbag. The concerns are that (a) the airbag may not deploy in the intended direction (b) may get ruptured due to making contact with the sharp edges of the crack or (c) may deploy unintentionally due to the weakness of the material holding it in place. This is a safety issue and gm needs to address it as such. *tr
"takata recall"- received notice july 2016 of gm recall 49151 and asked harper motors, 200 highway 531, minden. La. 71055 to replace recalled airbag. Service manager bj informed me that takata will send replacement airbag and when received the dealership service department would contact me. Received another notice around july 2017 about airbag lawsuit and again asked harper dealership service about replacing the airbag in my vehicle. And again was informed by bj that once the airbags are received the dealership would contact me.
"takata recall" takata corporation ('takata') has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2007-2011 Cadillac escalade, escalade esv, escalade ext, Chevrolet avalanche, silverado 1500, suburban, tahoe, GMC sierra 1500, yukon, yukon xl, and 2009-2011 Chevrolet silverado 2500/3500 and GMC sierra 2500/3500 vehicles. This is based upon takata's decision that front passenger airbag inflators it supplied to gm are defective. Gm has submitted to NHTSA a petition for inconsequentiality and NHTSA has granted gm until august 2017 to complete its investigation and to submit all data supporting the petition. If the petition is denied, gm will conduct a recall of the airbag inflators covered by takata's defect information report. For more information visit www.regul

Dashboard is cracked in several places near the passenger airbag and instrument cluster. It may eventually crack enough that big pieces will pop loose and chunks of my dash will be gone. ABS glue is the only thing that works to join the seams together to stop the dash from shaking and making tons of noise. The shaking likely caused the cracks to grow more also prior to me finally through lots of trial and error successfully gluing it. Hopefully it will keep the current crack from growing. But only time will tell. And new ones will likely appear if the old ones do not spread. Also, the air vent cover has broken in a long crack, and even worse most of the tabs that hold it down have broken off. Thus, it sticks up looking ugly and rattles. This too is likely to break up more from a
Passenger airbags concern - my dash, along with friends that own gm trucks from 2007 - 2014, is cracked due to what I am assuming is a weak material. The cracks are around the passenger airbags (and other areas). My concern is that the jagged edges and sharp points created by the cracks could potentially puncture the airbag. I feel that gm should recall the dash covers and replace them with a stronger material to prevent cracking.
Cracked dash above the passenger air bag on my 2009 GMC sierra and my 2007 Chevrolet avalanche. Could cause a safety hazard if the airbag was deployed and is not aesthetically pleasing considering the money spent on the vehicle.

My 2007 avalanche demonstrates a popping and creaking noise from the front end while in 4 wheel drive and turning a sharp corner. This noise is accompanied by a felt binding in the steering wheel and a feeling of a loss of power. *tr

We were driving down i20 when we were coming off the off ramp and the stabilization light came on and we got to the stop sign to turn right and as were take off it shifted really bad out into 2nd it jerked really bad and we had no power we made it home and now it turns over but will not start. 2007 avalance it has 50,000 miles. I have been talking to other people on car gurus and there are thousand on that sight having the same problem were having. And the sad thing is we dont have the money to have our truck towed into town and get it fixed. Becasue they tells us that they have so many people having the same problem. I feel like gm should do a recall or people should be able to do a group lawsuit toward gm for such a big deal like this is. And also our dashes are all cracked down the midd

tires 1 complaint shown
I bought four brand new tires from wal mart and they are uniroyal liberator a/t tires about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I noticed that the tires have ripples in the side walls and one tire has a lump on the inside sidewall. They are a size p265/70r17. The only other numbers on the tires are as follows: DOT bet6 c62u 06-57786-01 ygfa 2293 I am going to go back to wal mart today to bring it to their attention and see what they'll do to correct the issue. I just wanted to bring this to your attention in case other people have had similar issues with these tires. *tr

As I was driving my avalanche the stability track and traction control turned on my truck reduced power to half and it pulled right. I drove into lots of dirt and my brakes were affected too. I have been having issues with my 2007 avalance stabilitrak traction control turning off intermitingly. I have had my truck to the dealer 3 times on this issue and I am still with the same problem. This started over a year ago and when bringing it in for service there were no codes found for this problem. Today after picking up my truck once again and paying the dealer to replace the remote control door lock receiver being one of the codes showing this did not solve the problem and the part removed was still good. It seems to me that the service dept at the Chevy dealer has no clue on how to solve th
