2007 Chevrolet Express owner complaints

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet express 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floor board. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The contact and other driver sustained whip lash. No medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the hydraulic brake line failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also mentioned that he felt like the installation of the brake lining was faulty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000. Tl*the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet express 1500. The contact stated that the air bags were defective. His vehicle was struck from the rear while it was parked and the air bags failed to deploy. The driver who crashed into him was killed. Four people were injured in the contact's vehicle and four people were injured in the other vehicle. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was filed. The manufacturer issued the contact a case number, however, they did not explain why the air bags did not deploy and if the vehicle was included in any recalls. The speed of the other vehicle at the time of the crash was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 2,800.

The air bag light in the instrument panel is constantly on. The passenger air bag status light is constantly reporting no passenger, even with an adult passenger seated. I have paid $100 for diagnostics by the dealership. They say that none of the air bags will deploy in case of a collision. The dealership says this defect is not under gm warranty and estimates the repair at $1000. This car never had any collision. It even does not have any dent. Did you get other complaints? Is this acceptable? *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet express van. The contact stated that the air bag sensor light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front bumper air bag sensor had malfunctioned due to an electrical short caused by moisture damage. The air bag sensor was replaced and the defect was remedied. The manufacturer was notified and no solution was offered. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 66,000.

2007 Chevrolet gm3500. Consumer writes in regards to braking system failure. The consumer stated while driving the brakes locked up. The consumer was able to pull the vehicle to the shoulder. The brake lights did not illuminate. After sitting a few minutes, the vehicle went back to normal operation. The brake failure would continue to occur often. The consumer stated the engime light would illuminate when the failure occured. The vehicle was repaired following a service bulletin, but was too soon to tell if the failure would recur.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 cheverolet express. The contact was driving approximately 45 MPH down a steep grade on a mountainous road. When the brake pedal was depressed, the ABS warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle began to shake violently. The ABS light remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for the failure and the manufacturer was not made aware of the defect. The failure mileage was 3,000.

Mounting brackets for both front brake caliper hoses were bent forward, causing hoses to contact insides of front tires when wheels were turned. Right/passenger hose wore through, causing loss of brake fluid and loss of braking. Driver managed to stop vehicle safely. Vehicle was then towed to shop for repairs. *tr

Radiator hose gets damaged when radiator fan shroud touches it repeatedly through motor vibrations. We have seen this on two different vehicles (2007 and 2010 models) of Chevy express vans. 2010 van is VIN #[xxx]. Our mechanic explained this to us and took photos. #8 cylinder intake valve spring failure resulting in the destruction of intake manifold. Cost to replace spring and manifold came to$1200.00 very un happy. Why does some companies use inferior parts resulting in costing me hundreds. *tr

The vehicle was pulled over, and the contact discovered that sparks were igniting from underneath the vehicle. The contact dialed 911, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer, (patrick Chevrolet, where it remained. The failure was diagnosed as the transmission. Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2007 Chevrolet Express. It was later discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 71,000; and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 230,000.

Electric window/mirror control panel affixed to the interior of the driver's side door. Electrical thermal event causing smoke and physical damage to the interior side of the door and electrical control cluster and wiring. Vehicle was in use but was not in motion and off roadway. Control panel aftermarket installation prior to purchase. No previous maintenance/repair work performed on door or door control panel. Prior to the event, rain water was observed dripping on to the control panel from the roof which overhangs the door when the door was in the open position. We've experienced with other similar make/model school buses electrical shorts in the driver's side door control panel, which did not result in a 'thermal event" nor fire as experienced on 3/27/18, but did require repairs.

245/75R16 111T SL WRL AT ADVENTURE OWL Tire failed on the inside side wall while the Van was parked for about 2 hours. Tires were purchased in 2019 but has a built year of 2016. AAA service inspected the Van and could not locate reason for issue. I also examined Ring video footage during the event and did not see anything near the Vehicle at the time of the event

Rear side doors on my Chevrolet express van have corroded to the point they will not open. *tr

2007 Chevrolet express cutaway chassis. Consumer states a severe shimmy while driving *tgw the consumer stated he encountered a severe shimmy on a down hill, curved good surfaced highway, while turning left on a winding road. At the time, there was light to moderate brake application, and the transmission was in tow mode. *jb

The paint was constantly peeling off. Big splotches from hood would fly up to windshield and distract while driving. I have recently had whole van painted in order to prevent any more of this.these bare spots were rusting badly also. Very disappointed in this. I am seeing many other vans in town that have the same issue.

The contact then stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he then depressed the brake pedal to stop the vehicle however, after the accelerator pedal was depressed, he noticed a substantial drag and failed to accelerate. The dealer was notified of the failure, but no further assistance was

After all the passengers exited the vehicle, the front passenger side tire exploded and caught on fire. The fire department extinguished the fire. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the hub bearing was fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.
