On december 24, 2009, after parking my 30 month old 2007 Chevrolet impala ltz on level ground at 6:30am in the morning and minus 13 degrees fahrenheit, I attended my morning workout for 1 hour. On return and after successfully starting the car I found the stick shift access button could not be pushed, despite following the recommended procedures, and the car was stuck in park. It was towed to the local gm dealer for $100. After six days and $150 in expenses for another car the gm dealer reported that the problem was a "broken ground wire" in the "shift lock solenoid connector" [inside the centre console where the shift lever is located]. The cost of repair was $137. My internet research shows this problem occurs often in Chevrolet impalas, which suggests that the problem is in the design

Well my 2007 Chevrolet impala want drive or move so I don't if it's the transmission bad or not I need answer please it's leaking fluid and oil as well.
Slip in torque conversion around 30 to 45. Also, you'll be taking off from a stop and when you start to press the gas it delays, then slams into motion almost like being hit from behind. * did not know about this site. Had it to the dealer 3x, they said they found nothing wrong. It is sporatic and does not happen daily. *tr

Reduced engine power/ traction control warning/ gas line fuel leak. This car flashed a reduced engine power message while I was going 65 MPH straight away on busy city (in houston) freeway and the traction control warning light came on. My car then immediately reduced speed and would not go beyond 40 MPH. I was told that the gas line fuel leak has nothing to do with it but it seems very coincidental that this all happened in the same day. Gm is putting out a lot of trashy vehicles right now and this should definitely be a recall; especially when there are numerous valid complaints of the same issue. I'll never by gm/Chevy again. I am going back to an imported brand

The 2007 Chevrolet impala is an extremely unsafe automobile in wet or snow/ice conditions, even sand or salt; this car is the worst handling automobile possibly ever designed by gm. The impala's rear end slides left or right with only a minimal amount of debris, water, or snow on the road. This is not just a little slip now and again, it is uncontrollable and an extreme safety hazard. Every person that has had any dealings with this type of car will tell you the same thing. Ask any mechanic, dealership, tire sales rep, and most of all, a 2007 Chevy impala owner and all will attest to the poor design of this car. My wife and I will not, or should say cannot, drive this car when there is any sign of rain or snow in the forecast. Something must be done about this car. Not only is there a hand
I have had to replace the rear tires on my Chevrolet impala twice in under 20,000 miles due the rear suspension spindles being worn. The discount tire representatives report that they see at least two impalas a week with the same. Problem. Only replaced in police impalas.. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet impala. When driving approximately 30 MPH and turning the steering column he heards a loud noise. Also the computer was not reading the tire pressure of the tire on the rear passenger side. The vehicle has not been taken to the dealer for inspection. The failure mileage was 27,000.
2007 impala ls steering wheel shaft. First one replaced 3500 miles second at 9500 miles now at 15500 the third one needs to be replaced. Banging noise in front chasis, steering loose, wobble effect in front wheels. Unsafe issue that GMC Chevy div will not address just replaces. No one seems to care, not gov not dealer and not gm Chevy division. What can I do? *tr

Turned on rear window defroster, smelt burning plastic near passenger side door, found wire harness on passenger side kick panel melted at the rear window defroster connection due to high heat in the connector and it had scorched the underside of the interior carpet. Burnt both male and female ends of connector so it no longer works. Contacted Chevrolet and was told that it was a common problem that they had seen but there was no recall or advisory on it. *js
tires 1 complaint shown
Goodyear integrity 225/60r16 tire got flat tire from small plastic debris. When tire was repaired it was pointed out the tire is over half worn at just barely 9,000 miles. Tire if kept on vehicle will require replacement before 17,000 miles. Also tire handles poorly in all conditions. Very loose handling and excessive tire noise on corners even at slow speeds. *tr
seatbelts 1 complaint shown
Attempted to latch seatbelt on driver's side. Buckle would not latch. Buckle slides in but latch does not lock buckle in place. Contacted dealer and was told. "why would the warranty cover that?" with all the recent seat belt issues with manufacturers, I would have thought this would have been a concern to the dealer. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate as the reduced engine power error message displayed. My headlights continually flicker almost constantly, along with the dash lights. Sometimes they almost go out. They seem to be worse when I am accelerating. It always happens at highway speeds. Drives me crazy, can't afford to have them fixed.

Tire pressure monitoring system sensor/light stays on. Won't reset. Had to take to dealer. This is a known common problem with Chevy/gm vehicles. Tire pressure was good, all tires were good (set to manufacturer's specs.)
