Every time I fill up my gas tank the gas pump shuts off normally but when I remove the gas nozzle from my tank a huge amount of gas comes spewing out and sprays the side of my truck as well as the gas pump. It sometimes sprays out as much as four feet away. This is a major fire hazard as well as safety hazard for me and anyone pumping gas in there own cars at the pump across from me. I have been to several different gas stations so as to rule out pump malfuctions and it happens every time at every gas station I visit. Seat belt buckles also shattered easily.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 Chrysler aspen. The contact stated that while adding gasoline to her fuel tank the gasoline would spill back out. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer nor had the vehicle been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000. Updated 12/14/2011 *cn updated 05/23/11
I have an 2007 Chrysler aspen with 41,000 miles on it. We bought it three months ago and I've had a problem filling the vehicle with fuel everytime. On several attempts to fill the gas tank, after the automatic shut off in the fuel nozzle trips, a very large amount of fuel will come flying back out. The fuel splashes back out on to me, the fuel hose and all over the car. I have tried several different gas stations and even tried to put the gas in as slow as possible and still with no warning, fuel still comes splashing/spewing back out. This is a huge safety concern, especially with children in the vehicle. Can you please help us aspen owners to get the fuel problem resolved???? Safety first! *tr
Fuel overflows from gas tank on 2007 Chrysler aspen, after station pump auto shuts off. This occurs 100% of the time at any gas station. Problem is not yet corrected, appointment with dealer this weekend. This has occurred for roughly the past 2-3 months. *tr
When I was filling my gas tank gas started to dump all over the ground. There is an issue with the tank! *tr
Due to a defective valve in gas tank that is supposed to keep tank from exploding during rollovers, approximately 1/2 gallon of gas gushes out of vehicle during fill up which goes down vehicle and all over person fueling. This is a 2007 Chrysler aspen. Very dangerous and could cause potential harm or even death. *tr
Tl*the contact owns 2007 Chrysler aspen. While parked and being fueled, the fuel tank overflowed while being filled instead of shutting the pump off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician stated the fuel tank and gas line need to be replaced. The approximate failure mileage was 27,000.

In filling the gas tank, as soon as the pump stops a considerable amount of gas comes shooting out of the tank. This even happens if I finish the final few gallons at a very slow pace of gas. This has happened on the last three fill ups and also happened a few times some months ago. *tr
Less than a month after purchasing vehicle the gas tank would projectile vomit gasoline if filled more than 3/4 full. It was taken back to dealership 3 or 4 times with short term fixes but reverts to doing it again. The gasoline amount is significant all down the side of the vehicle, all over my clothes, and all over the ground. *tr

When filling the gas tank up using the "fill lock" feature on nearly all modern fuel pump nozzles, when the tank gets full the fill nozzle clicks off and about a half a pint of raw fuel is "purged" back out of the tank filler neck. At first I thought this was a problem at a specific fuel station. I have since learned that it can do it anywhere, at any time of day, and at any temperature.
Starting at around 85,000 miles or so during filling of the gas tank, just before the fuel handle shut off engages, an enormous amount of fuel literally gushes back from the fuel tank, soaking the person filling the vehicle and the ground with what appears to be between a half gallon to a gallon of fuel. We have tried many different gas stations, manually filling up the tank, and even not completely filling up the tank all with the same result - alot of gas dumping back out onto people, the truck, and the ground. Given that gasoline is extremely flammable, and that it has been proven that sparks from static electricity and cell phones can easily ignite vapors, this is a very dangerous situation. Many people complain of the same issue with many Chrysler products (Jeep, durango, and aspen, m

The dealer continues to send safety repair notices but has not been able to obtain the parts to remedy the situation. I have contacted the dealer at least 4 times and there still seems to be an issue on getting replacement parts.
"takata recall" needs a remedy to be fixed 6+ months unacceptable

On 18 november 2010 around 6 pm, my vehicle was parked in the driveway of my home approximately three feet from the garage entrance. To move the vehicle into the garage for the night, I got in the vehicle, closed the door, stepped on the brake, let off the emergency brake, started it, put the transmission in 'd', let off the brake, and did not touch the gas pedal. The engine immediately cycled up to 4000 RPM, and the vehicle immediately started moving forward. I then hit the brake to no effect on speed. The vehicle proceeded through the garage, impacted my steel workbench/tool container, went through the back wall and the front end impacted the ground seven feet below the garage dropoff and the engine turned off. The air bags did not deploy. I removed the key and got out of the vehi

My wife was driving our 2007 Chrysler aspen when the left lower control arm broke off causing the wheel and axel to come off, went left instantly and into a 18 inch ditch, and broke her hand. I called Chrysler the very next day, they gave me a case # and sent a man out to take pictures, he down played the whole thing like this was normal. Later I received a letter from Chrysler saying it was not the fault of Chrysler. I have taken the broken part to at least 10 places that knows about front ends also metal and welding shops body shops. Within 10 seconds they all said it is a defect. You can see very plainly where it has been cracked for awhile, old and rusted, and then the new break. No other car was involved , just broke off. Chrysler will not e-mail me or talk to me on the phone.
suspension 1 complaint shown
This complaint involves the front suspension system of the 2007 Chrysler aspen 4x4. While driving at highway speeds any bumps encountered on the road surface will result in a sudden shift of direction, or "jumping" of the front end of the vehicle. This can possibly send the driver into another lane of traffic. I have had this happen many times over the last couple of years of ownership of the vehicle. As an owner of several other fca vehicles (including, Jeep grand cherokee and a Jeep commander) I find this very disturbing that NHTSA has not investigated this problem as it has been reported on several of the Chrysler forums. No vehicle should have the front end "jump" and have the driver suddenly going in a different direction than intended, this is a deadly safety concern. But has n

Turn signals function intermittently when activated. Right signal seems to work okay when activated but right signal light also comes on when stalk is pushed down to indicate a left turn. Trying to indicate a left turn can also result in no signal light at all. This can confuse other drivers and has resulted in several near misses on lane changes and at intersections when turning left. Seems to be affected by cold temperatures and at the present time goes away after car is warmed for 15-20 minutes. Chrysler forums have indicated this to be a problem on aspens. No recalls issued yet. *tr
