Car: 2007 Ford 500 limited. Moving shift lever from park to reverse or to drive, after about 1 second the car "lurches" forward or backward. I keep the brake locked down when changing gears for several seconds until im sure it wont jump but I have to remember to do it. This is dangerous. When this first started happening, I almost ran over someone. I hope you can identify the problem and let me know or have Ford put out a safety recall and a fix for the problem. Thanks *tr

At very low speeds (example in a parking lot) trying to park the car it will surge really hard even when foot is on brake.. Makes parking very dangerous.. I almost hit a person and almost wrecked into another car another time.. When shifting from park to reverse with foot on brake the rpms go away up and it is as if someone is flooring the gas pedal. *tr

It's starting not going into highway gears (5&6) just revs real high and when it does finally, it kicks really hard. Sounds and feels like it's going to drop out from under the car.

The car will surge when you put it in gear. Does it in drive and reverse. I have to keep my foot on the brake until I am away from a car or building as it will jump into them. I never know when its going to do it. I estimated when it started and is still doing it. *tr

Was stopped at a drive-thru window and when I went to pull up to receive my food, the car lurched ahead of the window. I put the car in reverse to pick up my food and it lurched so fast backward that I had no control of it, even with my foot on the brake. This caused a crash into the front of another car. I have never had an accident and I am a careful driver. I received a moving violation and there was damage done to both cars. Enough damage that our insurance company is involved. Ford should do something about these lurch problems before someone is killed. Thank goodness no one was in front of me or they would have been killed, please, Ford, do something about these fords that have this problem. *tr

I have a 2007 Ford five hundred that had less than 60,000 miles when the throttle body began to fail. This causes the car to jerk forward and backward as I am taking my foot off the brake. I have almost hit a pedestrian once and other vehicles on more than one occasion. I took the car to the Ford dealership, was told it was the throttle body and there was not a recall even though this was very prevalent in the Ford freestyles. I was also told it would cost at least $700.00 to fix. They did clean the throttle body for which I paid $70.00. That was about 2 months ago and it is jerking again. This is dangerous as I cannot keep my car from jerking no matter how slowly I move my foot from the brake or not completely. *tr

I have a 2007 Ford five hundred with continental p215-60r17 tires. On dec 14, 2007, after my tires had been rotated at town east Ford in mesquite texas, I noticed a large bubble in the right front tire along the seam of the tire. Said tire id# DOT code a3kt 3mt 3906.the tires had approx 21,250 miles at the time. They have been rotated at least 4 times since I purchased the car and I can show that the tire inflation is checked regularly when I get the oil changed. Town east Ford told me the tire was not covered under warranty as it was considered road hazard. Originally I was told it was due to potholes, then later that it was due to a nail that caused low tire pressure. I was never informed of a nail, nor did they show me the damage. I contend the tire is faulty; I had to replace the tire

While driving one day, my cluster panel went dark. At first I thought it may be the battery, which would also cause the car to die. However, the car was still running. When I drove it to my mechanic, it did the same thing but began flickering on and off the whole way there. Not only was it annoying, but I could not see my speed nor my gas gauge. Additionally, when I tried to use my emergency lights, they would also go off whenever the panel went out. The repair of the whole cluster panel is not cheap. An estimate for me was $900 from my mechanic. Since it will have to be programmed however, I will have to take it to Ford which is a pain in itself. There are countless reviews on this problem, it should not be left up to the consumer to take on such a significant expense. My car has roughly

At a stoplight with the brake on the engine revved up and the car jumped forward about 20 feet before I could stop it. At the next light the same thing happened. At my final destination approximately 2 miles away my son (who was with me the whole time = I was taking him back to college) told me to let the car run to see if it would do it again. With the car in drive and my foot on the brake (hard) it revved up 2 more times in less than 2 minutes to at least 1500 RPM and was very difficult to hold back. I took it in to the dealer the next day and they replaced the throttle body at a cost of $800. After calling Ford and reporting the situation they refused to document this or make a case number until I told them I knew there was a technical bulletin on this according to the dealer. They

My Ford began acting strangely when turning, and would hydroplane badly when raining. I took it to my independent garage and they found that the left lower ball joint retaining nut had worked loose. That caused the left front wheel to move in toward the ball joint and the joint or nut tore the tire down to the steel belt. The service manager indicated that it appeared that the nut was not torqued correctly at the factory. Of course, I had to have the ball joint replaced and two new tires. I did notify Ford motor co. *tr
