Engine block cracks and leaking coolant. Our 2007 Honda civic started leaking fluid on 12/27/2017. This cause temperature to become red with white smoke coming out of the front hood while I was driving with my wife and 3 month baby. It looks very dangerous to drive. We found out Honda had extended the warranty on this to 10 years because of known defects. Unfortunately, I experienced the defect 14 months after my civic's 10 year warranty period. Honda corporate and our local Honda dealerships are not willing to honor and fix this defect. The want to charge $5,000 to fix it. This should be a recall as so many people are experiencing this. A car should not be considered unsafe to drive at 11 years old and require $5,000 repair, and pose a risk of endangering a family with a newborn safety.

I was driving my Honda civic 2007 on a ramp going from one highway to another, when it completely shut down and started smoking. There was no indication that anything was wrong with the car until it stopped and started smoking. Turns out that the engine block was cracked creating overheating. The overheating caused other parts of the engine to melt, the spark plugs, oil dipstick, head is warped. *js
My engine block is cracked. I know that several year models of the Honda civic have been recalled due to this defect; the 2007 yr model as is mine included. My VIN # was not included in this recall but it has the same defect as the others that were recalled. I would like for mine to be replaced. The pictures included show where the water/antifreeze mixture has leaked out and dried on. The vehicle has not been driven in several months because of this. I bought this car in approximately late 2015.
Cracked engine block, random overheating, major coolant loss, emergency pullover
I was in a highway and my engine heated. I let it cool down and found out that the coolant/ antifreeze had been depleted completely. I replenished it. Later diagnosis resulted in identification of crack from the engine block. My 2007 civic had gone out of warranty for their extended 10 years. It has low mileage of 94000 miles. These specific problems seem to occur in hondas at around 90k to 110k. So for people like us who have low mileage, we are not helped by the extended warranty and have to pay out of pocket which I cannot afford. I feel like I have been cheated. The recall number is a10-048

We bought this car new from the dealer in '07. We have been putting 3 to 4 sets of tires on this car per year, for the last five years, that is not acceptable....it runs in to money and is very unsafe in the winter time. While checking on the internet, I found alot of other people with the same problem. We all feel this should be a recall. Even replacing the rear upper control arms does not fix the problem, we have tried, and so have others. This comes from the factory. Honda prides themselves on safety...this is not safe...the car is constantly fighting with itself on the road therefore wearing tires. Please consider a recall on this vehicle. 08 001 was a code I read on the internet, I'm not sure what this is, but sutherland Honda in fredericton, n.b. Will not make any compensation
I purchased car from Honda dealership in may 2008; a Honda service bulletin regarding problem with rear upper control arms was issued in february 2008. Therefore, the dealership knew of the problem, but did not fix it or inform me prior to purchasing vehicle. Around february 2010, I started experiencing severe problems with the handling of my car. It vibrated and shook aggressively at highway speeds and I had absolutely no control over the vehicle whatsover on wet roads. It felt like only two wheels were on the ground at any given moment. At 42k miles in july 2010, I replaced the tires at ntb. (I thought issues were related only to bad tires.) now, 30k miles and a little over a year later, I am experiencing the exact same problems. Severe vibration, loss of control. My car feels like a de

Third gear notchy and sometimes hard to engage and/or grinds, this is a safety hazard and should be addressed. Honda has issued a tsb, but I have taken the car to two different dealers neither could replicate the problem. *tr
Honda civic hybrid ima no assist or lack of assist and mileage reduction after ima software recall update. I had no issues prior to the ima recall software update performed at the dealer. The car seems to now use less electric motor power to accelerate or to go up hills. This can become dangerous in certain situations. Also the car has seen a decrease in fuel economy of 16% city and 24% highway. Contacted 2 different Honda dealerships and they both said some people have the same issues but Honda does not have a solution for them. Called Honda motor corp. Directly to try to get warranty fix or at least for them to uninstall the ima sw update and they said they cannot do that. They will not replace my battery which is still under the 8 year warranty or resolve my sw update issues.
Since day of purchase noticed third gear popping. Thought being new car could not be a problem. It is now 6 months later. Called service at Honda dealership. Questioned warranty and explained issues with car, such as clutch slipping, seems sync rolls are going. Dealership claims it is driver. Called america Honda corp. They admit transmission fix will be coming out in 2008, but only certain VIN#'s are covered. I am not understanding this since it has been a problem even in other year and makes with same issues! These same complaints are all over internet!cost has been estimated at $1200! Even with extended warranty coverage purchased. *tr

My sun visors have cracked/split at the top on both the driver and passenger side. They will not stay up and block my vision so that I have to turn them to the side facing the doors while driving. I had them both replaced while under warranty on september 13, 2008. They broke exactly the same way again this summer(2010). The visors are not able to withstand the heat and seem to melt and burst at the seam in the summer months.
While operating the above vehicle, the driver side sun visor imploded, became unstable and fell into my line of sight. This was a known hazardous defect on behalf of the manufacturer, Honda. I just became aware this has been a well documented flaw in the design and the company has been put on notice. The failure of Honda to voluntarily recall and/or repair the defected visor amounts to negligence according to most state case law. This should immediately result in a civil action before another failed product presents an undue hazard to another victim of Honda.
I began to have back and neck pain after buying a Honda civic 2007. I finally realized this pain is due to the forward tilt of the headrest which pushes my head forward and down whenever I am seated in the car. I have developed serious neck problems requiring treatment, physical therapy, and possible surgery in the future. This headrest design causes problems for passengers too. These headrests cannot be adjusted to a comfortable position. Hundreds of drivers are complaining online and in other ways of similar problems with headrests on Honda and other makes of cars manufactured to us "safety" regulations. These headrests have caused additional safety concerns as drivers must try to adapt seat and/or headrest positions in order to experience some relief from the pain caused by abnormal bod

I bought my 2007 Honda civic coupe last febuary( haven't had problems until tonight car is leaking right there at the seams of the rear air bags and roof meet, the right side, water running down the sides onto the seat, discovered the other side was leaking at the same place but not as bad . Feel a cool breeze from both sides. Left side in the front where plastic and fabric meet at the top was leaking as well, the interior is soaked through. Obviously theres a problem with the seal or something but I am absolutitly furious about this situation,I did not spend $25,000 etc. In cash, for my damm car to leak a river, thats something I would expect from my 35 year old house, not my under a year old car. And a simple cleaning from a detailer is not gonna fix my problem. I am so pissed I can't even b
Clear coat/paint is coming off on driver's side roof and driver's side window frame. Car has been kept up with washes only like suggested and Honda won't do anything about it. *tr

The driver side visor fell on my lap and Honda replaced it because it was still on warranty.. But now the passenger visor is hanging down but Honda wont replace because its out of warranty. The front brakes does wear out around 12k miles after replacing it with the dealer for the 3rd time (Honda dont want to admit that they use poor quality pads so you'll keep coming back to them for replacement, they say its the way you drive but I did point out to them that if I drive like a maniac I would have also need to replace my tires which lasted me more than 50k miles) I decided go get an aftermarket ceramic pads and had it installed from pepboys. Its been more than 30k miles and brakes are still fine. The wiper blade on driver side does become sticky on the windshield which leaves unpleasant str

Takata air bag failed recall! My 2007 Honda civic sedan has an inflator malfuction located in the driver side rear that keeps the airbag light on at all times. Ive taken it to valley high Honda 2differant occasions. 2009, 2016 the dealer said they wont fix it, I should go to pick a part. Honda america also told me they wont fix it. Not covered under warranty! The bags are not in working order due to the light being on and will not deploy if involved in an accident! I thought safety was #1 priority for Honda? I have all my documentation showing my multiple visits. My wife and children travel in this car daily. I would like some help fixing this so my family will be protected if in an accident.I received a recall notice but the dealer said its not covered. I am writing this complaint after r

The center third brake light fails repeatedly. It is an LED light and safety factor. I am on my 3rd light on a 2007 model. First replaced in dec. 2010, and again on dec. 2016 an LED light should last longer than then that.
