I received a recall notice for passenger side air bag activation defect on my Hyundai sonata 2007. I was advised that if I have this defect I should contact local dealer and make an appointment to get it fixed. I called local Hyundai dealer in burlington vermont and they gave my an appointment for dec. 31, 2008 at 8:00 am. I brought my car to dealer ship. I was told that they need the proof of I am having this problem of not activating the air bags. They need the person with me to show them that it does not work while person is in the car seat. I told them how come you did not tell me when I made the appointment also there is nothing mentioned about me proving it in the notice for recall. I was told that person with whom I made the appointment was not aware of the policy. I was told that

The 2007 Hyundai sonata gls 4 cylinder 2.4 l, at 39 225 miles, the airbag warning light stayed on. I took it to the circle Hyundai dealer in shrewsbury nj to check it out. The mechanic looked at the car and I was informed that the seat belt pre tensioner needed to be replaced and that it was not covered under warranty. The cost to me out of pocket would be $ 450.00 I did not have the repair completed. I have read many, close to 100 complaints on just this same issue, on just this same vehicle model and make being reported on this NHTSA website. It is overdue for a recall of this problem on the 2007 Hyundai sonata. The owners of this make and model are a risk of injury to their persons should they be involved in a car crash and the airbag not responding and protecting the occup

Passenger front seat air bag buckle/sensor assembly has failed. After seeing so many similar reports, I want to make aware that I have similar issues. I am also wondering if this has anything to do with the recall on the ocs? I have yet to have the recall fixed, because they have refused to do so, until I received another letter and called Hyundai. Who then called the dealer. Am still waiting for the results. *tr

Air bag warning light ("idiot light") remains on. From the moment that it did turn on, it has remained on. I have read that pe14023 may apply? Surely would appreciate any help that I can get, thank you.

Air bag sign is still on after the recall service. In fact, I do not remember getting it fixed, but the dealership claims that the issue had been addressed. They would not fix the issue with free of charge. I am scared to drive with my friends and family on the passenger seat.

While traveling on a highway entrance ramp, the glass of my moon roof "exploded" spontaneously. At the time of the incident (approximately 12:00 pm est), the temperature was around 30 degrees fahrenheit and there were no adverse weather conditions, I was traveling under no overpasses, and there were no vehicles in front of me. I noticed no objects striking my car before or at the time of the incident, my passengers and I only heard a noise that we agreed sounded like a gun shot coming from above the vehicle. Since I happened to have the sun shade closed over the moon roof, no glass entered the interior of the vehicle, but a significant amount of the moon roof (approximately 2/3) blew towards the back of my car and onto the highway ramp. Since I was traveling with my wife, mother, 5 year ol

Windshield visor drivers side flops down obstructing vision. Will not stay up and out of the way when pushed forward or back. *tr

Using sun visor as designed when the component that holds the visor in a flat position above the steering wheel audibly failed (made a breaking noise). Sun visor now will not stay in a secure flat position (the position you would put the sun visor in when you are not using the sun visor). The sun visor falls down blocking some view ahead (as it is meant to do only when you are blocking the occasional glare from the sun). This is the second sun visor from Hyundai that I have had this happen to. *tr

The sun visors both malfunctioned. They do not stay in place without being tied up. I feel this is a safety issue that they can droop down without warning. *tr

Red “airbag” light on dash illuminated while driving. Code read as B1706: passenger buckle pretensioner. May have been covered under Hyundai’s 15yr/250k warranty but owners never notified since not official recall. Although, this defect may not affect airbags themselves it causes “airbag” light to remain illuminated until addressed. Driving with the “airbag” light continuously illuminated may pose risk to unsafe conditions due to unknown new airbag codes since “airbag” light already illuminated with buckle pretensioner code B1706.

The "ESC off" indicator light illuminates randomly and cannot be turned off using the interior button that is designed to do so. Looking at similar complaints and issues, it appears that this is likely caused by a malfunction in the stop lamp switch assembly that has been recalled for other vehicles in the make/model/year. Please extend this recall to include my vehicle.
