2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class owner complaints

When vehicle is refueled, strong odor of gasoline exists from rear passenger seat and rear exterior of vehicle. There's no visible fuel leak, strong fuel odor especially when inside the garage. No fuel odor when it's less than 3/4 full tank. The car has less than 30k miles when first notice the fuel odor.

Strong smell of gasoline inside and outside of the Mercedes c280 2007 when it's filled up, or filled past the second notch on the fuel meter. Inspection of the fuel tank underneath the rear seats reveals a visible fuel leak on the left sending unit a the top of the fuel tank. Google search results suggest this leakage may be related to a march, 2008 emissions recall conducted by Mercedes benz (emissions recall campaign # 2008-020001) which involved potential cracking of the fuel filter module in vehicles exposed to high ambient temperatures. Everytime I fill the gas tank I smell gas strongly I paid out of pocket to have the fuel pump done the gas cap the purge valve and I’m still getting a check engine light for a evap leak and still smelling gas from inside and outside the car I also have a rattle noise comeing from inside the gas tank u can take the gas cap off and heat it inside the gas tank from outside and inside the car it’s a constant knocking noise inside the gas tank I replaced everything and their is still a knock noise and fuel smell I have proof receipts from Merceds dealer of all work I did and I have videos of the noise I can’t afford a new gas tank I bought the car in Connecticut with a 2 year extended warranty the warranty place won’t cover a new gas tank I saw their were recalls for gas smells on other models

Fuel tank leaks gasoline into the back seat area from the fuel tank module if filled more than about 3/4 full. Fuel tank leak also causes p0442 code for leak in EVAP emissions control system. This is the same problem that resulted in the recall/warranty extension on 2003-09 e class and cls class Mercedes benz, but mb refuses to accept responsibility for c class vehicles

Engine Control Unit failed during warranty after replacement by the Mercedes Benz Dealership. The ECU causes stumbling and cutting out of engine in traffic while driving which can cause an accident putting my self, wife and others at risk. I took the car to the dealership and showed them the stored code of 1596 “The engine off time has an implausible value” (P1026) on the Mercedes Benz Xentry DAS software. Yes: the dealer inspected the car and did a diagnostic. The code was cleared and the dealer claimed there was no code. A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT was present when the problem started approximately 23 months after the ECU was replaced be the dealer with a two year advertised and communicated warranty.

2016 I took my 2007 Mercedes benz c230, into Mercedes benz to see why the check engine light was on. My car was purchased with 37k miles on it at the time I purchased it. How could such a major issue, arise in car so early in it's life. Mercedes stated, that they make the best quality of cars in the world! They stand by this slogan. However, why would such a major issue occur in a car with such low miles/usage? I have been driving and on multiple occasions I have had the car unable to shift out of gear, each time I had to turn the car off and restart . Today after attempting to try this again today dec.17, 2013 I finally had to car a tow truck because the car would not shift gears. *tr

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the transmission speed sensor was defective and needed to be reset. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 67,000 and the current mileage was 74,000.

The failure was experienced numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failure. The dealer performed a diagnostic that was unable to locate a failure code. The vehicle was taken back the dealer and a second diagnostic was performed which located the failure at the transmission conductor plate. The dealer flushed the transmission and replaced the conductor plate. The failure was not corrected. The vehicle still would not accelerate over 20 MPH. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not contacted a local dealer or the manufacturer for part availability. The contact received a notice from tk holdings about takata filing for bankruptcy. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

My Mercedes has never been recalled for the Takata air bag recall and now I have a warning about the SRS, Supplemental Restraint System. What ever happened to vehicles having replacement air bags??

Takata recall I have 2 vehicles affected and there is no planned remedy. I havent received any updates. This is going on 2 years. It will be too late when someone gets harmed or killed. 2014 Dodge avenger and this Mercedes.

Check engine came on so I take it to the shop they said it was the crankshaft sensors code but that code was not for the sensors it was for the timing chain they said its not running on time so now to fix it they are charning me almost $4000 I hear and been reading that a lot of people have the same problem with this engine they timing goes off so I think this problem should be investigated its so much money not even the car is worth that miney no more

On Oct 25, 2022 while returning home from Denver International Airport the check engine light illuminated on the dash of my Mercedes Benz. The car was exhibiting increasing power loss and rough running which increased while driving north on Interstate 25 in heavy morning traffic. I was in doubt that he car would make it home. The car has been diagnosed subsequently the the Mercedes Benz m272 engine nance shaft gear problem with estimated cost to repair of US $6300.00. The car is definitely not dependable to drive with this problem due to the likelihood of failure in traffic.

I received a recall on the airbag and electrical system

I have never been contacted about this recall either. This is the second complaint form I have filed. First one filed 12/28/2019.
