When I woke up my car was leaning to one side (the right side)...couple of times the red light (stop car too low comes on) and I have to stop in a safe area of course, but this is scary when you have your young kids with you... The malfunction light comes on when driving over 45 miles away from home. *tr

The rear suspension began to produce a hissing noise upon parking. The next time while driving a loud release of air was heard coming from the rear passenger side and the rear end of the car slammed to the ground. Now I have to have the rear suspension replaced. This sudden failure at highway speeds, especially in unfavorable weather conditions, could result in a serious accident. Reports of problems with the airmatic system are abundant and not just isolated to my and year of car. In fact mb is currently in a class action litigation regarding the airmatic suspension in their gl line of cars. I believe the problem to be systemic and should be resolved by mb to help assure the safety of those that drive their vehicles. *tr
While driving down the highway, a dashboard indicator displayed "car too low". We pulled over and the rear end of the car was sitting as low as possible. It was clear that there was a problem with the air bag supported suspension. On restarting, the car rose and we were able to make it to our destination. The car then, with increasing frequency had this problem. I brought it in for service and the air compressor that inflates the rear suspension air bags was replaced. This problem occurred with no warning and at highway speeds with 5 persons in the car creating an immense safety risk. Many others have reported the same issue with this and related cars for this and nearby model years. Like them, I wonder why there is no recall. Mercedes benz will not replace these defective part
I noticed my car leaning to the left side as I was returning home from errands. No warning indicator came on. I was concerned making turns in this situation but managed to make it home. I brought the car in for service because it was obviously unsafe to drive. After replacing the suspension air compressor 3 months earlier, I was told that the left side suspension air bag had failed. Mercedes will not cover this repair and will not recall this known condition without being forced. They should be forced since many people are having this problem. *tr

Car is a 2007 Mercedes benz r350 - it uses a "touch shift" button instead of a more traditional 'console shift lever" to drive, park, etc.. Car is in park, with the emergency brakes on as well. Driver gets off car, passenger turns of the engine and the car starts rolling backwards...until it hits a curb and then stops. This was not on a steep slope, but a very slightly sloped parking area in front of a supermarket. There were no injuries this time around - but this problem is very serious and dangerous because it could have hit someone, there was no way of stopping the car. This same problem has happened before about 1 yr ago, car parked in driveway, driver gets out, car starts rolling backwards, knocks over the driver, runs over his leg, he injures his shoulder, goes to the hospital.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Mercedes benz r320. The contact stated that the seat overheated and burned a hole through the seat, and the contacts leg was burned. Esp inoperative message appears. Wipers went on (although they were off at the time) turn signals were inoperative and interior lights not working.. I pulled to the side of the road and was unable to engage park or reverse. I shut the ignition off and neutral was automatically engaged but park still not working. Removing the key engaged park. Restarting the car the esp inoperative message was still displayed and drive could not be engaged. After leaving the key removed for 2-3 minutes all was clear. No recurrence of the problem for 6 months then recurred on september 22, 2014 and again on september 24, 2014. I feel this is a very dangerous issue. Stability control is lost along with turn signals and even if you stop the car stays in drive and reverse is not available. Park can only be enga

While driving car the check engine light came on and started running very rough. I took it to the dealer where they told me it was some sort of balance shaft/cam gear problem. They said it was a terrible design flaw that affected many, many cars. They said driving it was risky. *tr
The check engine light came on and soon the car began to have trouble starting. I then began sputtering while driving. Mercedes dealer informed us that the balance shaft had failed and needed to be replaced. This repair would cost close to $6,000. I have seen that this is a very common complaint, almost as if it is to be expected. I also see that there is a class action lawsuit that was filed in 2010. This poses a safety problem when I drive my children, and I cannot afford to pay the repair bill. *tr
Error codes P0016 and P0017 camshaft out of alignment and vehicle will not pass smog test, also loss of power of the engine.
I had to take the vehicle to the shop for repairs at least every 3-5 months since the day I bought it, which was in 2010. Nearly all of the repairs have been under warranty, it only has less than 75, 000m. In september of this year while I was driving home from work when the car started stalling jerking and shout off. The engine light, esp light and the break light came on. It immediately restarted, the engine light stayed on, while the esp and break light went off. This was a very frighten experience, hoping I won't be hit from behind. I made it to the dealer ship. The car was in the shop for 3wks when I was told that it needed to have a tune up before any other repairs could be done, how this related to the vehicle just stopping in mid drive, is odd.to say the least. 2 days after g

The contact owns a 2007 Mercedes-Benz R320. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V315000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle needed a diagnostic test prior to the recall repair. The contact declined to pay for the diagnostic test and advised the dealer to complete the recall repair. The dealer declined to honor the recall repair. The contact later discovered that the dealer had marked the recall repair as completed even though the recall repair had not been performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Purchased four (4) goodyear assurance tripletred all season size 235/65r17 DOT #pj81kd1r4111 from a goodyear corporate store. Went to corporate store to repair a "slow air leak on passenger rear tire". Store called stating that "piece of metal had damaged" tire and the other three tires "had a sidewall bubble from hitting potholes'. We live in a southern suburban area & have not had any major impacts with these tires. We took the vehicle to another authorized goodyear dealer who removed the tires, examined and stated separation is consistent with a manufacturer defect and did not see evidence of impact damage or abusive driving habits. Contacted goodyear corporate offices and spoke with crystal who insisted warranty credit would only be given under "road hazard" and we could not "prov

What I thought was a bug biting my rear side, ending up being the seat on fire! I had turned on the seat warmer and not even a minute or two later, the wire in the seat was on fire when I pulled over and left a hole in my seat. Car is not under warranty anymore and I feel as though I should not have to pay for this. It could've caused an accident, had I been on a major highway or on a road that I couldn't pull over on. Children in the car very worried. After searching online, I see that this is a common problem of Mercedes owner, all happening on the lower left side. Any recalls? Not wear and tear! *tr
