The stabilizer sway bar for the Nissan altima just broke on its own under normal conditions. I was just driving going speed limit on a local road and the bar snapped. Although I had an accident with this vehicle 4 years ago, the car still ran smoothly because it was minor. The bar snapped on its own and we drive this vehicle with care. *kb

2007 Nissan altima w/ 30k; rear sway bar broke for no apparent reason; not covered under regular warranty but told(by dealer) it is not safe to drive without a repair;if it can cause an accident or is unsafe it should be recalled! *tr
I recently discovered the rear sway bar snapped on my 2007 Nissan altima. A look at the bar shows it was a clean break with no signs of damage to any areas around the bar. A quick search online turned up other complaints of 2007 altima drivers that say they have the same problem with the sway bar snapping in the same place and with no signs of damage. It appears there is a larger issue at hand with this piece of equipment and it needs to be addressed. *tr
As I was driving home from work I noticed a noise in the rear of my vehicle. I made an appointment to have it looked at and it was said to me that my rear shocks are bad and that they had seized into the knuckle and were rusted. I then proceeded to contact Nissan north america to see if they would help out with this issue due to the vehicle only having 42000 miles. They told me that because I had an extended warranty and it was not Nissan's, and because it was not in the factory warranty that it was not their problem. I feel that this is a safety concern because the vehicle is very well maintained and there was a recall on the rear sway bar which could have affect on the rear suspension. They did not feel that my reasoning for requesting assistance was valid and I do not feel safe driving
Was at the repair shop picking up my other car when the mechanic noticed something hanging from the bottom of my car. He threw the car up on a lift and discovered that it was a broken sway bar. He was shocked and said he'd never seen or heard of anything like that. I have no idea of the safety implications, but after a quick search online it seems as if there are hundreds of others with this same problem. When will Nissan get its act together and recall this? *tr
During routine oil change and inspection I was informed by dealer that the rear sway bar on my car was broken. There has not been any rough road conditions or accident to have caused this. Upon research I have discovered that this is a frequent and known problem with this year and model and it is documented extensively on the internet. *tr
I was just driving normally and the sway bar on rear passenger side snapped and broke. I am in the process of trying to have it repaired, the cost is astronomical at around 500 dollars. *tr

2007 Nissan altima 3.5 se. Consumer writes in regards to passenger seat problems in vehicle. *smd the cosumer stated anyone who sat in the passenger seat, the air bag sensor did not recognize the seat was occupired. The warning read, np passenger in the seat. The consumer stated there was a recall on the exact problem. However, his vehicle identification number was not included.
My 2007 Nissan altima 2.5 s has had a ongoing problem for more then a year now. The problem is when a passenger is in the passenger seat, the light stating air bag is off comes on. The individuals in the seat are over 100 pounds in weight. Nissan has told me the problem is with the way we are sitting and that the airbag "should" work. Should is not a option. The car has been in many times to no avail, including a "expert" from Nissan to fix the problem. Car is going back for the documented 6th time on this concern. *tr
Air bag light keeps blinking. On a 2007 Nissan altima no one is sitting in the seat. It cost $2,000.00. To replace. No don't have to be moving. It's when you turn the car on.
I own a 05 altima. Recently I was hit from rear, no injury, but air bag light came on. The car was sent for repairs and I was told that the rear end collision was not the cause of sensor failure but the fact the computer chip burned. My question is how long will this chip last and if you should give your customers a heads up on this information ? *tr

After noticing that my brake light was coming on intermittently for a couple weeks, I took it to my Nissan dealership for service. While servicing the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a crack in the brake master cylinder. I was informed by the service department that they had serviced a number of Nissan altimas for the exact same issue. My service advisor mentioned that there is an on-going investigation into this problem and that there is a possibility that Nissan may issue a recall for this defect. *tr
Master cylinder cracked and leaking. Apparently, we're not the first to have a faulty master cylinder in this vehicle. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 Nissan altima. When applying pressure to the brakes, the contact heard a loud grinding sound. After an inspection, the dealer stated that they would replace the brake rotors under warranty. The following day, she heard the noise again and the dealer stated that it was normal. Two months later, while driving in rainy weather, the contact was involved in a crash. Another dealer stated that the previous dealer did not replace the brake system, only the brake pads. The second dealer also stated that the brake system was defective. The contact filed a complaint with the manufacturer. The VIN, engine size, number of cylinders, speed, and powertrain were unknown. The failure mileage was 11,900 and current mileage was 20,000.

The driver seat in my 2007 Nissan altima has moved while I am driving since I bought the car. I have brought this in to be serviced for this problem over 6 times in the last year and they have failed to fix it. They performed Nissan tsb ntb08-089 twice already and the seat still moves around when I am driving. This is a major safety issue and it needs to be fixed. I am not the only one having this problem, it is very common for my model car. *tr
The vehicle takes over 40 minutes of driving to have the heat blower activate on cold temperatures. Starting and letting the vehicle run idle for 20 minutes before driving doesn't seem to help this situation. Heater will not work under any circumstance, cause the windows to fog up while driving and putting the driver and passengers in a serious situation in which they can experience frostbite from the extreme temperature, accidents because of not being able to see thru the windows and losing control of the vehicle because the cold causes the driver to lose grip on the steering wheel. Dealership refuses to take a look at the heating system, saying that is typical for nissans to take that long to heat up. No other explanation provided or solution to this issue.

2007 Nissan altima 3.5se rear sway bar snapped in two while driving. There were no damage to the surrounding area where the bar snapped. At close inspection, the bar is hollow inside. There are web blogs that I have found where other owners have experienced the same problem. Please see here... Http://wiki.answers.com/q/should_the_2007_nissan_altima_rear_sway_bar_be_recalled. Please look into this matter as this is a safety problem that Nissan needs to address immediately. *tr
On 12/13/2008 at 9:00 a.m. My 24 year old daughter entered her 2007 Nissan altima and was going x-mas shopping. The entrance to the expressway is less then one quarter mile. She entered the expressway and changed lanes to the far left. Approximately one mile of driving on the expressway her steering wheel locked and she was unable to navigate the steering. She started to brake and as she was attempting to navigate and slow her vehicle on the expressway, the steering wheel started to spin causing her to crash into the median wall. No injuries, no other vehicles damaged but her vehicle had extensive damage to the front grill ,fenders and bumper. This is the first time the steering wheel locked. *tr

I own a 2007 Nissan altima with only 79k. The transmission went out of warranty by 6 months. I did some research and it looks like thousands of people have reported issues with the CVT transmission. All these transmissions were going out below 85k. I reach out to Nissan for any assistance and they say "no we are sorry, after looking at your file you never complained previously to Nissan with any transmission issue so you are out of warranty." seriously!!! You allow them to build junk and they know it and they only use 10 years or 120k warranty. I am a victim with 79k. Nissan needs to stand by there product? I ask you this one question. Do you think that you own a car with 79k that a transmission needs to be replaced? This is not just me but thousands with the same issue.
The vehicle is just past the 120k mile power train warranty period and the transmission/CVT began hard-shifting/clunking at around 40mph. Took it to a certified mechanic who diagnosed it as a failing CVT and requires replacement. Called Nissan dealer and they said "yup, that happens." offered no guidance, their only solution is to replace the CVT for $6,000 (plus shop fees, taxes, etc.) I've talked to several altima owners and they've had very similar experiences with cvts failing between 125k and 140k miles, just past the warranty period. The failure is big, and Nissan says the only option is complete replacement - no way to repair this issue.
