2007 Saturn Aura owner complaints

Airbag alert on message center. We took it in and the repair was at least a thousand dollars. *tr

2007 Saturn aura xe. Consumer states side air bags deployed while driving *tgw the consumer stated the driver side air bag hit and stung her on the arm very hard, and immediately following was the passenger side. The steering wheel locked as she attempted to steer the vehicle out of the flow of traffic, her seat belt locked and the vehicle instantly died and everything powered off. The vehicle was towed to the nearest dealership. The consumer finally received a call from an inspector, who stated the air bag deployment was somewhat a normal circumstance and was unrelated to an electric system malfunctioning. It was determined the electrical failure was due to an outside source and gm was not at fault. *jb

Passenger seat air bag sensor was replaced under warranty, 20,000 miles. Failed again at approx 45-50 thousand miles. Air bags are turned off when this happens. New fix included new wiring and sensors- plus a few hundred dollars. Gm obviously knew of the problem- they changed he wiring etc. This is dangerous because of the entire airbag system failing. The second fix should have been a recall- with the price picked up by gm. This failure was intermittent and generally happened while driving. This a definite safety issue. *tr

While driving with a passenger the service airbag light comes on than goes off and will not register that a passenger is in the front seat.

I was in the process of parking my vehicle at the grocery store with my 1 year old daughter. I went to put my car in park and it was very difficult to do so. I thought that something may have occluded the gear shift, so I took the car out of park and attempted to shift into the different gears and it eventually became impossible to shift any further and my car was stuck in drive. The vehicle was taken to our usual mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission gear shift cable was "all but separated". I researched a bit on the internet where around 400,000 other vehicles (pontiacs, Chevrolet malibus, Saturn auras) had the same issue that I was having and saw a bulletin issued for september 18, 2012 warning of this particular issue of the gear shift cable becoming separated and that

While driving the car stopped and would only go into reverse. It had to be towed by pushing the car onto the tow truck. It had previously been fixed due to the transmission not staying in drive, this was from a previous recall.

The contact also stated that the instrument cluster failed when attempting to change gears. In addition, the rear passenger door lock failed. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v252000 (electrical system, electronic stability control, exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic and vehicle speed control) and 14v224000 (power train). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 103,622.

The contact stated that when the vehicle was turned off, parked and the key was removed from the ignition, he was still able to erroneously move the gear shifter from park. The contact stated that the vehicle had never rolled away because he constantly used the emergency parking brake. The contact was told by the auto parts store there was a NHTSA recall campaign id number: 12v4600000 (power train: automatic transmission: gear position indication (prndl) for the transmission shift cable, but when they spoke with the manufacturer, they were told their vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was unknown, but the current mileage was 55,000.

I received a recall notice july 2014. I called conte Chevy of freeport, ny, 516-623-9600,they advised me they would notify when the parts come in. I'm still waiting. Please advise what to do next thank you *tr updated 3/15/2016*js

My car gear shift slides through the gears but wont shift out of park. Something is wrong with the transmission shift cable. I see an active recall for this exact problem on my type of car (NHTSA 14V224) but for some reason my vin isn’t showing up.

Tl* the contact owns a 2002 (na) Saturn aura. While driving unknown speeds, the traction control indicator illuminated. Additionally, there was an abnormal fuel odor while approaching the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that fuel was seeping from the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (walker Buick GMC, 1616 macarthur drive, alexandria, la 71301) where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 88,210.

The contact pulled over to the side of the road and poured fluid into the steering pump hose; however, the hose fractured. The contact drove the vehicle home. The contact is an independent mechanic who stated that the high and low side pressure hose rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 129,288.

I noticed that the steering wasn't normal and felt like I didn't have control of the vehicle. I made numerous stops alongside the road to check tires and eventually my steering wheel was crooked even though I was going straight. The steering felt like it gave out or slipped during certain turns and going straight. I brought car into dealership and they informed me that the bolts on the ball joints needed repair. Unsure if they fell out or what but vehicle is currently being repaired. *tr

My 2007 Saturn aura hybrid constantly has problems with the electrical system. Various components go off and on at seemingly random occasions. For example, I'll get halfway to work and the "check air bag" light will go on; when I get back in my car after work, the same light will be off and won't go back on. In another example, I might be driving to the store and the traction control will stop working, but will start again a few miles later. Sometimes the radio will not go on until I turn off and restart the car. Yesterday, the power steering light went on for a mile. Every system in the car has had its warning lights turn on and off at various times but since they don't stay on, I never know if it will be safe to keep driving my car or not. I keep receiving a code p1a6f, p1a92 my car keeps cutting off and coming back on loss of power loss of fuel.

I was on my way to wal-mart. As I was driving my car all of a sudden wasn't going as I pressed on gas so I notice something strange was going on tried to shift it wouldn't downshift. Then I pulled into middle lane that is were it slowly stopped. Then I shut it off started my car again to go to a safer place it started, continue driving about less then a mile turned into wal-mart and as I was turning in car gas pedals and shift was not working. So it rolled and I was able to get into parkingnlot wal-mart. When I tried to reverse and make the car straight it would not move in drive only reverse. I parked my vehicle and called my husband cause I was panic that I almost got hit behind me till I pulled into center lane I didn't want to drive it.

2007 Saturn aura stored indoors always.40,964 miles only.1metal belt exposed. Replaced 2 tires. 5mos later belt separation in same brand tire. Auto pressure check system (computer has observed correct tire pressure for life of tire). Tires still look new plenty of tread (at least1/4"). *tr
