Wave plate broke inside the transmission. Loose metal from wave plate damaged many parts throughout the transmission. Original estimate was $3500 due to being 3 months outside warranty. Gm agreed to cover remaining bill if I paid $1100 due to the relatively low mileage (78k). One small wave plate caused thousands of dollars of damage and gm knows this is a problem with the '07, '08, '09 Saturn outlook. *tr
While driving my 2007 Saturn outlook the engine stalled and came right back on. The engine light came on and the transmission would not shift out of 2 nd gear. I pull over put it in park sat there for a few minutes. I put it in drive and it went into gear. I'm very upset to learn it will cost me 6000.00 to repair the transmission and timing chain which is a problem gm is very aware of. I think they should take care of the problem due to many people having the same issues with this type of vehicle. I have only owned this vehicle for just over a year. And paid good money for the vehicle. So if they know there is a problem they should fix it. *tr
Transmission began slipping during long interstate trip. After a rest stop, transmission would not shift out of a low gear on freeway even when traveling at 60-70 MPH. Warning light (transmission overheat) came on and we were able to make it to the next exit. Power train completely failed and we had to have the car towed and find a hotel to stay at overnight. Gm dealer found 35r wave plate broken and sever metal debris throughout transmission. Transmission needed to be replaced at our expense. *tr
Vehicle's transmission suddenly lost traction. Driving my child to school and suddenly the vehicle's transmission slipped and would not run. Was caught in the middle of an intersection with 5 year old and baby on board. Thankfully oncoming traffic saw us and slowed down to go around us. *tr

My 2007 Saturn outlook burns out headlights (which are very expensive) with alarming frequency. The dealership tells me that it is burning out wiring harnesses which cost several hundred dollars each time a replacement is necessary. Through research, I know that others are experiencing this same failure of an (obviously) critical component. *tr
I have a 2007 outlook xr with re-occurring headlight issues, upon further troubleshooting of the issue and removal and replacement of the low beam bulbs numerous times, I found the wiring harness at the connection point of the headlight bulbs were melted through the harness thus leaving exposed wires. Like so many have experienced this very same issue with Saturn outlooks, this is a very high fire hazard and should be investigated further. Thanks for your time respectfully submitted. *tr
I had my car looked at by the local mechanic to find out the headlight assembly on the passenger side has went bad. My car is out of warranty so its not covered. It seems this has been a frequent problem with this car and this should be a recall. *tr
My low beam headlight on my 2007 outlook stopped working. I started to replace the bulb but noticed when I looked at the connector that is one of the wire's has almost completed broken/burnt away from the it. *tr
For about a month the smell of something burning came through the vents of the car. Unable to locate the source. Then the driver side headlight went out while driving about two months later. When we went to replace it the socket to the wires were burned and melted. Unable to fix it and now will have to take it and get replaced. Headlight has been out for about three months now. We are lucky nothing more has happened to the headlight or that a fire didn't' happen. *tr

At approximately 100,000 miles the service air bag light started to illuminate on the dashboard. Furthermore, the passenger airbag is always switched off regardless if there is someone in the passenger seat or not. Brought to dealer in june 2015 with mileage of 101,806. It is giving code b0081-of stating there is an internal fault in passenger presence sensor. Approximate cost to fix was around ~$1000. Declined fixing it at this time as I had already spent $2500 in other repairs. This is obviously an ongoing issue with many of these cars and is a huge safety concern....not just wear and tear. Please look into these airbag concerns.
Tl* the contact owned a 2007 Saturn outlook. While parked, another vehicle crashed into the rear of the contact's vehicle. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear of the preceding vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was not filed. The contact sustained bodily and internal injuries to the left side of his body that required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an impound lot. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 145,000. Updated 2/25/15*cn updated 9/12/2017*cn
Air bag sensor in passenger seat fails intermittently and light sup the air bag sensor light on the dashboard, and disables the passenger side front airbag, even when an adult passenger is occupying the seat. This can happen whenever the car is powered on.
Airbag light has been lit up for awhile now. They say I need a new sensor. Is this not the same issue from a previous recall? Why does this not show up under that recall?

I had my passenger low beam light already fixed because of this issue with the wiring harness to the low beam light melt. Now my driver side headlight went out and its the same issue as before with the wiring harness melting and the light not working on some days and then working the next day or later in the day when I start the car up again. This needs to be addressed by gm to get it fixed. I know there was a service bulletin put out for the vehicle that expired december 31, 2013. Both of my low beam lights have stopped working this year. *tr
2007 outlook xr AWD - front right low beam wiring harness and bulb connector melted after 37,000 miles. *tr
My passenger low beam headlight has burnt out and has been replaced at least 4 times in 1 month. It's currently 12/15/19 and it's burnt out as we speak

steering 1 complaint shown
There is a distinct groaning noise coming from the power steering system. The noise is most prominent when the car is fully warmed up, but occurs nearly any time. When the steering wheel is turned slightly from center in either direction, the noise intensifies, and a distinct vibration can be felt in the steering wheel, leading me to believe there is some problem with the power steering pump or other steering components. I had the vehicle to the dealer and of course they claimed there is no noise. I left it there for multiple people to try it, as my entire family hears the noise, but of course only the driver can feel the vibration in the steering wheel. My fear is that whatever component(s) is/are failing, they will totally fail on the highway, either compromising the steering or
