My 2007 Saturn vue hybrid battery light comes on. I took it to the dealership in june, 2010 and was told I needed a new battery pack (this will be the 3rd one), that there was a recall on the battery packs, and that it was "safe" to drive until the batteries were replaced. It is now december 30, 2010 and no battery packs are available. I'm finding out through internet research that once the battery pack goes, all power will drain and the car will cease to function within 30 minutes--that includes brakes and steering. I've complained to gm who now holds the warranties on Saturn and they advise me biweekly that they don't know when battery packs will be available. Aside from shirking its warranty obligation, gm is creating potential safety hazards on these hybrids when the recalled batt

While merging onto a highway I lost all power. No engine, lights, etc. Almost got run over. Opened hood and replaced the 30 amp ignition fuse and car started. Took to gm dealer and they could not find a problem and original fuse was not blown either. Also hard to turn the ignition key at times. Is this a recall? If not it should be as this was a serious mishap where we could havebeen killed! The car has 54k miles and this was on 12-21-2015 and I took it to the dealer on 12-22-2015.
This car has given me nothing but problems the last year or so with the ignition switch.. I can't turn my car on for about 10 minutes. The key will go in to the ignition but it wont turn the car and there has been times that it's gotten stuck where you can't take it out. I have taken it to a few places now but they said I would have to replace it. So that is what I did and again still getting stuck. I have to get a key cut each year because they key looks like its about 70 years old after only 6 months. There has also been times I have been going down the road and the key is hardly in the ignition. What is going on with this. *dt
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Saturn vue. The contact stated that the after starting the vehicle, the check engine light was illuminated. The contact proceeded to drive the vehicle for a shirt period of time. The contact then decelerated to a traffic stop when the vehicle stalled. He was able to restart the vehicle as it resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the hybrid battery would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the battery being on back order. The failure and current mileage was 60,000. Updated 01/18/11 *bf the consumer stated the vehicle has not been repaired. The vehicle stalled in the middle of an intersection. Updated 02/07/11
I was driving down the road and my knee accidentally hit the key and it fell right out of the ignition switch. I have to fumble around for it on the floor while the car was running and moving. I also have noticed in the last few months that I have to jiggle the ignition switch quite a few times back and forth in order to start the car. This happens alot some weeks and other weeks, just a few times. *tr
I was driving in my subdivision and the curtain air bags went off in my 2007 Saturn vue hybrid. I swerved and ran into a tree causing massive frontal damage and the driver-side air bag to deploy. My 3-year-old daughter was in the back passenger child car seat and was ok but I was diagnosed with chest, knee, hip, and nose contusions, still healing after 4+ days. The car was a total loss per allstate. I have no idea what caused the curtain air bags to go off but see on carcomplaints.com there are many airbag issues. Very mad and demand attention from gm since Saturn is defunct. *tr

I have two 2007 Saturn vehicles, a vue and an ion the air bag light comes on periodically. I took the vue to a dealer and they said the sensor was bad and wanted to charge about $500.00 to fix it. The ion has the same problem but I haven't taken it in to be checked. It looks to me like there is a problem with the 2007 saturns and should be fixed by gm. *kb
2007 Saturn vue. The consumers wife was involved in an accident and the air bags did not deploy. *ta his wife was injured and the vehicle sustained extensive damage. *jb
I was driving this evening on a city street when my side airbags deployed. My passenger amd driver airbags however did not. When my side airbags deployed it startled me and I hit a curb messing up my alignment. This was incredibly unexpected and could've been a lot worse.
Air bag malfunction indicator light for the driver is on intermittently while driver is in the seat, the car is on, and operating. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to when this problem occurs. This has been happening for the last 6 months or so.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Saturn vue. The contact stated that the passenger's side air bag warning light would illuminate whenever the passenger seat was occupied. The failure began when the wire used for the heated passenger's seat failed. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the heat element wire fractured and caused the failure. The dealer advised that the failure was common with his particular model that had the optionally heated seat. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was unknown, but the current mileage was 75,000. Updated 12/19/12 *cn the consumer stated the failure was created because the passenger heat element in the seat cushion was an open circuit. Updated 1/9/2013 *js
steering 5 complaints shown
My 2007 Saturn vue (6cyl) experienced a steering problem for the second time this year. The rack and pinion was replaced under warranty in april 2010. In dec 2010 the problem started again worst then the 1st time. Its hard to turn around corners and very tough to impossible to steer out of parking at low speeds. The dealer said its the power steering pump, the pump is under a national back order and will not be available for at least one month. They refuse to replace it for free as I ran out of warranty and drove more then 12k miles since the last rack & pinion replacement. The car is unsafe to drive and currently parked waiting for part to be available. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Saturn vue. While exiting a parking space he lost his his ability to steer. He had to turn the vehicle off. He contacted the dealer, in which a technician stated that the steering knuckle caused the failure. However there were no recalls to address the failure. The failure and current mileages were unknown. The vehicle identification number was unavailable.
The key continually gets stuck in the ignition of my vue. I have been stranded a couple of times because I could not turn the key or remove it. I have taken it to bob jeanotte Buick GMC (14949 n. Sheldon, plymouth mi. 734-453-2500) and they told me there is nothing they can do. I also have a second vue that the same thing has happened to and the ignition was changed twice but still has a sticking issue. I would like to take them back in to have them changed but they are not currently on the list. Only 2007 ion and sky. *tr
I was driving down the street and smoke began coming from around the steering wheel of my car. A symbol of a person holding a airbag appeared on the dashboard, I then felt that the airbag was going to deploy. I immediately pulled out of traffic into a auto zone. Aworker seen the smoke, and felt my car was on fire. I explained to him that the smoke is coming from around the steering wheel. He said "get out of your car, it's dangerous! The airbag lights for both driver side and passenger side come on and off. My Saturn is paid for, and I'm unemployed right now and can not afford to invest in a new vehicle. What can be done for the safety of the people who have trusted the industry? *tr
More then 5 times the SUV has not started, and we had to replace the ignition switch because the key would not even turn in it. I believe we have tanaka airbags.
powertrain 1 complaint shown
Saturn vue 2007 v6 gas engine 15,000 miles vehicle failed to accelerate above 20mph, shift out of 1st gear, and idled at 1,500 RPM. Dealer stated the throttle was filled with carbon deposits and that this is normal for the vehicles at 18,000 miles. I have never driven a vehicle with this problem regardless of total mileage or environmental conditions. However, this vehicle has been operated under normal driving conditions in louisiana and with brand fuels with additives. *tr

Detected strong odor of gas around rear of car. Two different mechanics had the car on a lift and could not discover source of gasoline smell. Two or three thousand miles later, we took the car to a third mechanic and, using an inspection camera, he immediately found that the primary fuel pump had a cracked fuel fitting. The mechanic advised how dangerous this leak could be as it was directly over the exhaust. This is my wife's car and she had been using it to commute 400 miles round trip to help with our newest grandchild. Cost to repair is over $400.00. This is not a hazard unique to our vehicle; refer to Saturn vue fuel leak at www.saturnfans.com. Considering contacting a lawyer due to the serious nature of this common hazard that has not been addressed by gm. *js
cruise control 1 complaint shown
While passing another car on us 17a with cruise control on, my car continued to accelerate even when I attempted to decrease the speed control and when I turned the cruise control off...depressing the brake pedal slowed the car at the expense of the brake pads...I turned the key switch off.. Pulled off the road restarted the car and the engine over revved and I turned the key off again, attempted to restart again with the same results. Stomped the brakes several times and this time the results were normal. Either the cruise control or accelerator petal or control module I suspect were at fault.....this could have been very bad if we had been in a high traffic condition...
