2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara owner complaints

Passenger air bag sensor in seat is defective. The air bag off light comes on when someone is sitting in the seat, took the car to Suzuki dealer and they tell me it is not covered under warranty and will be $2500 to replace the whole passengers seat at my expense of course.. This is dangerous as the air bag will not deploy on passenger side if in accident.. I have only owned this car for 5 months. I feel Suzuki should have to recall these sensors as I am reading online alot of complaints about the same issue, in all Suzuki vehicles.. *tr

The passenger seat weight sensor indicates no weight in the seat and the yellow light on the console is on. A passenger can be in the seat with the seat belt buckled and the light indicates the passenger air bag is off. It also indicates on the dashboard with a red light that all the air bags are disabled. I have researched this on the internet and this is also common on the 2006 model also. It is happening to many 2006 and 2007 grand vitara Suzuki vehicles. It is a common problem for these vehicles and is a safety hazard. Suzuki wants over 1600.00- 2000.00 dollars to repair the problem. They informed me the warranty has expired after 36 months or 36000 miles. The parts to fix this problem is a dealer stock item only. Will it take many deaths for Suzuki to recall this and fix the problem.

Own a Suzuki grand vitara 2007, in november 2008 the airbag passenger seat sensor fail, Suzuki replaced it, on 2009 december it fail again they replaced it, on 2010 it fail again this time they told me the warranty has expire, they ask me for $1000.00 for it. I been searching the internet and this is a common problem that is happening to 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and think 2010 SUV. I think this is a malfunction of the part or other electrical issue. This could lead to airbag malfunction in a crash or unexpected airbag deployment, resulting in injury to the passenger. They have to fix this at no cost. *tr

On 15 sep 2008, my wife was driving her 2007 Suzuki grand vitara, I was in the passenger seat, and our 2 small children were in the rear. A driver in a Ford pickup ran a red light and t-boned us on the drivers side, near the rear door & rear wheel well, near where the air bag sensor is, at appr 30-35 MPH. None of the side air bags deployed. *tr

My lights are always going out its hard to see at night when they are on and I considered very dangerous and went dealer where I bought it and they tell me they can't fix it just keep changing lights when they go out not good

The head lights keep going off every 4 to 6 months. There's been numerous complaints from other owners on repairpal.com about the same thing and Suzuki has not wanted to recognize that there is a problem. This is partially what they have posted "we understand the concerns you have raised in your message and we want to inform you that there is no known issues with the headlight assembly". Yet everyone's complaints about the headlights going off every 4 to 6 months is a fact. I tried replacing the entire head light assembly before I knew there is actually a problem with it and it's still doing it months later. It's getting very expensive for everyone and myself to be replacing headlight bulbs every couple of months that should be lasting years. *tr

I have been having issues with my low beam headlight not working. I have had to replaced the light bulbs every 3-4 months for the past year. The first couple of times I was told the person installing the light bulbs were not doing it properly and that was the issue. Recently, I have been advised that the adapter is the issue and because it has the electric wires connected to it I have to pay for electrical work. To save money I thought I could buy the part myself but, after going to 4 different auto stores who did not have the part I was forced to come online. This is when I discovered that I'm not the only one with this issue. I think Suzuki should place a recall on this issue. *tr

Vehicle purchased new in july 2007 would not start on two occasions in sept 2007 (mileage 3,700 first occasion and 3,924 second occasion). Suzuki sent someone to jump the car on sept 19th 2007, and towed it on sept 24 2007, the dealer took eight days to replace battery and alternator . *tr

The low beam headlights in our Suzuki grand vitara went out completely. I have had problems before with a single bulb burning out which I replaced. They are burning out much more rapidly now and becoming a constant problem of having to replace the low beam headlights. Now, both low beam headlights stopped working the other day as we were driving back at night which forced me to use my high beam headlights to get home safely. I have researched online and have seen that this is a common problem many Suzuki owners are having but Suzuki is refusing to acknowledge it and put out a recall on the issue. *tr

My headlight has blown out 3 times within 6 months. I have replaced them but now I tried to replace my headlight and it won't work, my headlight doesn't even come on. I am thinking its the wiring and I looked online and I seen that multiple people have had this same problem. It is crazy because I shouldn't have to replace my headlight that many times in a year. I contacted Suzuki and they said they can't help me without making me pay the amount, I shouldn't have to pay for this parts and labor when they are aware of this problem because they said they have heard that before. *jb

I have yokohama on my grand vitara that roars while driving ,had them checked found out, it was not only the tires but the struts and shocks, nobody wants to pay for repairs truck is 2007 grand vitara with less than 36,000 miles ,I'm getting the run around, they are passing the blame!

Excessive rear tire wear at 15,000 miles, has 19,000 miles on it now and the rear right tire is bald. Called southwest Suzuki and spoke to mr. Doyle. Claims its my fault for not rotating tires. Front tires are ok. This is a bogus copout. There is a problem with the car or alignment causing the tire wear because this car is not able to roast the tires with the esp system. Suzuki needs to fix this, I can not justify buying tires every 15,000 miles . *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 Suzuki grand vitara. While driving approximately 5 MPH and parking the vehicle, the contact lifted her foot off of the brake pedal and the vehicle accelerated. The contact was able to get the vehicle to stop after applying pressure and pumping the brake repeatedly. The failure occurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technicians stated that the electronic system was failing and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 Suzuki grandvitara. The contact stated that while entering a car wash slowly with his foot on the brake, the vehicle proceeded to accelerate forward on its own. The vehicle had not been inspected by a dealer but they did advise him to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired. Told Suzuki that brakes where no good they said that they seemed fine a week before. The car also would set the cruise control to engage at 0mph and go to 40rpm when I took my foot off brake. The dealer saw no problem. I was going into my driveway at 1mile per hour when the brakes entirely failed. *tr

I have a 2007 grand vitara, it had yokohama geolander g92 255/70 r16 tires. The back tires wore out by 13000 miles. I went to the dealer and they stated I was over inflating the tires. The problems is that the tsp light kept coming on so I would put air in them and it would go off. I had a warranty on these tires but no one would honor it because I was told I put to much air in my tires. I argued with them stating that the tsp light kept coming on. Even the front tires have worn significantly and has some buldging and I never put air in those ones. I ended up buying 2 new tires, not yokohama! Even after I changed the tires the tsp light kept coming on and my car was in the shop 3 times after for the same, tsp light coming on. *tr

Two more problems with my vehicle, gear shift sticking and unable to shift without jamming it into the correct gear. Two, the air conditioning has a foul odor when you turn the vehicle on all the time. I have taken my vehicle in for both problems. The gear shift first off will pop out of place if hit even in park or when the car in not running and it sticks and has to be jammed into place, I have taken it in and was told could not duplicate problem-never fixed. The air conditioning stinks badly, the odor is offensive, smells like a porta potty or something dead! I have taken it in 2 x for this. They put lysol in the coils and told me it was fixed both times. The second time I was told to spray lysol or bleach in the ledge at the top. This does not help and I still have the problem! *tr

I have received a recall notice for my vehicle. The Suzuki dealership (facility) in my town has been closed. The recall scheduling contact (twice) has refered me to an out of town (Toyota) dealership in naples, florida. Of course, Suzuki in no longer sold in the us. The drive distance would prevent me from leaving my vehicle without unnecessary added time and inconvenience. I requested a local more convenient dealership to do the repair, but have been refused. What is the policy on recalls for this situation? I would like to have the repair done in a fort myers dealer.

Vibration in rear started soon after I purchased car. I had it in for service 4 times since february 2007 and they fixed the rear balanced the drive shaft and put new tires on,but the vibration is still there. As you go 45 MPH and then go faster you can hear the noise louder. After they put the new tires on they said the problem was ok and all they heard was road noise. When I road tested the car I heard the noise again. I've had the car in for service 4 times for the same problem. *tr
