I was driving out of my driveway, going about 10 MPH, for less than 100 yards and the red warning lights came on indicating "engine failure", "do not drive the vehicle"! I drove home and turned off the ignition and called vw dealer to have the vehicle towed. *tr

Traveling down the road at 60mph, the engine suddenly lost power and the tachometer redlined before it dropped into first gear. The epc light came on. My wife was driving. I got in and the light was out, so I drove for five minutes and the light came on and I lost power on the highway at 65mph -- same issue with tach. I pulled over to the side of the road and took it to the nearest mechanic shop. It is still at the shop as they are trying to troubleshoot. Noticed that vw put out a tech bulletin in 2009 (15 09 03 dec. 16, 2009 2015153 supersedes t. B. Group 15 number 09-02 dated november 10, 2009 to revise technical diagnosis code in warranty table.) but did not issue a recall. Seriously, this is a major safety issue as the truck behind me swerved to miss me. Searching the internet, I

Attorney writes in regards to lemon law on behalf of a client *tgw the vehicle was burning oil and it was determined it was necessary to replace the o rings. After a week at the dealership, the vehicle was returned to the consumer. The very next day, the vehicle would not start and it was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was leaking gas. It appeared the o ring was torn and all four o rings were replaced. There was a water leak inside the vehicle. The dealer ordered a special adhesive/sealant for the convertible top. The master switch that raised or lowered all of the windows did not work on a consistent basis. When the doors were opened, the front windows would go down, but they wouldn't come back up. The regulators were replaced. The left rear window would not go up at all. There was a

Power windows do not operate in sub-freezing temperatures. With no ice or frost on windows they just do not want to move in very cold temperatures, 30 degrees f and below. Notified dealer, their response was to reset the window controller which gets the window working until the next sub freezing temperature event. No attempt was made to determine the cause of the failure. Because the windows need to move to open the door in this car and a trip to the dealer is required to get the windows working again this could be a potential safety concern. *tr

I have twin daughters that were 17 yrs. Last yr. I am a single mom. I bought this car off a craigslist ad. When my daughter & I went & looked at it I looked to see if it had ever been wrecked it had no report of that. The person that sold it to me said the convertible didn't go down because he didn't have the key, I had no idea that it had 33 complaints filed on it, and it would be leaking water filling the floor boards 2-3"every time it stormed. I also didn't know that the person that bought it brand new was hit by a ice truck who rolled over the top over it, nor did I know that the next person that bought the car had the convertible top blow off on the freeway going 60 MPH down the road so her mechanic just glued it closed, nor did I the person I bought it from said it had one owner an

-air bag - repeated sensor failure, which are disabling the air safety system. - failure of the red LED dash display (the red display boards have a history of failure due to 4 defective solder on the circuit board) which makes the operator unaware that doors are not closed and latched, so that the doors open without warning with the vehicle in motion. Also, loss of verification of shift location ( is the vehicle in park-drive-reverse) which can cause the car to move without warning.

My sun roof shattered while driving on interstate. Glass broke and it sounded like an explosion and a gunshots, then I heard loud wind noise coming from sunroof. Nothing hit my car. It just exploded out of no where.

My daughter was driving on the freeway to work around 5am when her sunroof burst onto thousands of pieces. She stated "it sound like a massive explosion and scared her causing her to swerve her car." Thank God it was early in the morning, on a weekend, and with minimal traffic on the road. She was able to pull over safely, and call me. We have now been dealing with the insurance company that tells us the glass is covered, but safelite tells us they are unable to repair it. The volkswagen dealership told us their are 2 windows in the US inventory, but not able too locate them. The cost to repair is estimated $2,400. The dealership said this is a very common issue with the sunroofs to burst like this. My daughter's 2007 eos has less than 100,000 miles on it. Insurance won't total it as nothi

I bought a used Volkswagen eos on 08/31/2011. Its a convertible, few days after that it rained and the car was leaking from the joint where the hood attaches to the windscreen. The whole car was flooded with water, I had to drain the water out and take the car to the dealer where I bought the car from on 09/09/2011. They said to bring the car back again 09/13/2011. I called them before going to the dealership and said they will call me, I kept calling and finally on 09/19/2011 I dropped the car at the dealership. When I picked the car back, the manager said they have fixed the car, I had the sales person number I called him from the dealership and he said they were not able to fixed the problem and I have to take it to the manufacturer. I have contacted vw and brought vehicle in for airbag module light. Code 01218 due to passenger seat airbag. Was told it wasn’t repairable. Isn’t this a safety issue? I thought all airbags were covered under the life of the vehicle?

My air bag lite is on, when I took it to the dealer, they wanted me to pay for a air bag replacement which is over $1000. I asked if there was a recall since I knew of others having the same problem, and was told none that they knew of, so I stated I would wait for one (recall), since I didn't have the funds. They didn't seem to concern, with this being a safety issue. The other person who had the same identical problem choose to borrow the money for her repair. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. As a safety issue this needs to be addressed. Also she stated she knew someone with the same problem, it apparantly must be a problem, so far from a short conversation with one person that was three cars with the same issue, that I know of, it must be others??

Vw eos with 22000 miles; dsg transmission operates erratically; when accelerating from a stop car initially accelerates then slows, as if in neutral gear, then bangs into gear and accelerates. Erratic and violent downshifts have also been experienced causing occupants to be restrained excessively by the seat belts. Difficult to demonstrate this behavior consistently. Dealer initially described actions as: "normal for dsg transmission". Repeated complaints to dealer LED to transmission components being replaced. This resulted in some improvement but erratic shifting continues. *tr

The vehicle slips out of gear without warning. Has automatic transmission. Engine dash light and anti-swerve slights come on but engine continues to run and rev. Turning off car and restarting will usually restore operation until next episode. The dealer checked all wiring and replaced selector lever module for $1901 but the problem persists. Dealer has had car for an additional week and is stumped. Now waiting for technical advice from vw. As is the vehicle can not be operated safely on the streets or especially the highway due to sudden loss of propulsion.

Unlike other vw models, there is no way to buckle driver side seat belt without a twist in the seat belt. I took the car to the dealership to be fixed. They could not fix it . They contacted vw and we were told it is the way it was engineered. We compared it with another eos, which had the same problem. We then compared it to a passat, which did not have this problem. In addition to being uncomfortable, I fear that it will decrease the effectiveness of the seat belt. I also think with the discomfort, people may not wear it. *tr

I bought a brand new Volkswagen eos 2007 on december 26, 2006 from atlantic Volkswagen in pleasantville, new jersey. On may 25, 2006, I was sitting at a corner waiting to turn left. A large ice truck came around the corner too fast and tipped on two wheels and fell onto my vehicle while I was inside. The ice truck's insurance company sent an adjuster out to assess the damages. The insurance company decided to have the damages fixed instead of totaling the vehicle on the spot. Since then, the vehicle has been in the auto repair shop and it is now october 15, 2007. The auto repair shop owner has reported to me that the reason why the vehicle cannot be repaired yet is because Volkswagen has not made parts for this particular model (eos) yet and they are not available.
