2007 jetta wolfsburg rear brakes made from a softer material causing them to wear at a much faster rate than the front(approx. Every 16k miles). Info is straight from vw usa. Why would they put the sensors on only the front if they know the rear will wear faster and no info in the owners manual. Unreasonable repair on a front wheel drive car. Front brakes still look new while back brakes are worn and cut into the rotor. Vw usa says this was a fix in response to customer complaints of rear brake noise. Softer material causes more brake dust and brakes squeal all the time. Having to replace brakes much more often is not an efficient fix. I have seen many complaints about this on edmunds.com. This is an issue. *tr

Purchased new vehicle 07/21/07 and on 12/09/08 I had to have the rear brakes and rotors replaced on my new 2007 vw jetta with less than 16,000 miles on it! This is my 4th vw and I have never experienced this issue so soon before. My previous vw that I've brought to the same dealer for the last 8 years never had this issue. I find it inappropriate for vw to sell me a vehicle with sub standard parts that requires a lot of money to replace - with no disclaimer. I've come to expect better quality from vw. Which was the main reason as to why I purchased a new vehicle from vw again. To add, I'll have to go through this again every 15,000 miles or so. It is not a breaking habit as my prior records with vw will show that is not the case. While customer. *tr
I have a 2007 vw jetta. At 27,000 miles I had to have rear brake pads replaced and rotors turned. Brakes were rubbing metal to metal. I think it is a premature brake wear problem. Do not know if it is faulty parts or what. Dealer says it is normal to have rear pads wear out with that little of mileage. I am 55yrs. Old and I have never seen that with any car. I hope it does not cause anyone to have an accident. *tr
Rear brakes I feel their is a defect. Have replaced them once at about under 13 thousand miles and again now over 13 thousand miles the vehicle has the same issue. It is not reasonable for rear brakes to wear down before the front. Now Volkswagen is giving me the run around. It has less than a year since purchase and I have to spend another 5 hundred dollars to get these fixed. I can be going through brakes like that. *tr
I have a 2007 Volkswagen jetta wolfsberg edition with 29,000 miles on it. I am the original owner. My rear brakes were making an awful squealing noise. I brought the car to the dealer for scheduled maintenance as well as for my brakes. I was told that my rear brakes had 1mm and 2mm left on them and needed to be replaced and this was part of normal wear and tear. The car is not even 2 years old and they want to charge $425 to replace the rear brakes. I have owned toyotas before and have never heard of such a thing. This is a huge flaw that Volkswagen refuses to own up to. I have talked to my dealer, drito brothers, and customer relations about this issue. Apparently, Volkswagen does not care about their customers and continue to make an inferior car. I think it needs to be investig

I just recently bought the car not even 6 months ago, certified pre owned, I noticed about a week after having it that two of my doors do not lock at all. Also my head lights stay on 24/7 while my car in turned to the on position. When I'm on the highway the car shakes really bad when I hit 60 MPH or higher. This car is a piece and I don't recommend anyone with a child to purchase this car. It is unsafe and unprofessionally designed.
Door locks fail to lock. Front driver door will lock but all other doors do not lock. Alarm will sound off if door is opened but will only work for 1 minute then shut off. This has resulted in an auto burglary at my sons work place parking lot. It also poses a danger to children in back seat if door is opened while car is in motion. Safety is at issue when people in the vehicle need to prevent being car jacked or robbed as well. We have researched this issue and have found that there are thousands of complaints on this same issue. What is it going to take to have a recall issued on this vehicle to force the manufacturer to repair these vehicles?
As I was driving 65mph on the highway my car completely shut down. I had no lights, no gas, no anything. I was able to pull off to the side of the road. After about 20 minutes, the car started back up, but I only made it about 1.5 miles before it did it again. Vw dealership replaced my entire computer module (j519) and then let me leave the lot. I continued to have trouble starting the car. The dealership replaced the relay for the starter because it was overheating. I am now (oct 2012) having issues with the unlocking of my driver side door. *tr
My 2007 wolfsburg jetta just stalled on me last night. The ESC lights came on and then the battery light came on and then the engine died. I lost all power and coasted off to the side of the road. I thought it was the battery but all my lights, radio, headlights worked. I tried to start it but the red steering light came on too. I got it towed to the dealership because it should still be under warranty(<4 years, <40,000 miles). Luckily this happened in a residential neighborhood where I was able to safely get out of traffic. If this had happened on the freeway, a more serious accident could have occurred.this car was bought new and has never given me any issues. *tr

I was involved in a side crash and the driver air bag, dash airbag and passenger air bag all deployed. The dashboard airbag deployed with such force, it broke the rear view mirror off of the windshield and crushed my hand between it and the driver airbag, which broke all the bones in my hand and I had to have pins placed in my hand. *tr
I would like to file a complaint regarding my air bag warning indicator light remaining on due to a faulty air bag. I took my vehicle to the local vw dealership to have it serviced and was told the problem I am having with my air bag light was not included in the recent air bag recall issued by vw. I was told by the technician that my air bag warning light is on because my entire passenger seat airbag including the harness must be replaced in order to be operable. I was also told the airbag system would not work w/o repair. This failure occurred on my vehicle which is 5 years old and has 35,286 miles. It is not covered by vw because the warranty exp'd at 3 yrs/36k miles. My vehicle has far less mileage average than a vehicle newer than it is. This safety equipment failure should not have o
Contact owns a 2007 vw jetta. Current mileage was 30,573 and failure mileage was 27,000. Contact stated since the purchase of the vehicle the air bag light would flash on the dash board. Contact took the vehicle to the dealer and repaired the seat belt as well as a sensor for the air bag. The next morning the air bag light came on and so the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer. The dealer did a diagnostic test and did some more repairs and 3 week later the air bag light came back on. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they replace a sensor in the door. One week after the sensor was replaced in the door the air bag light has come on once again. Contact has not taken the vehicle back to the dealer at this time. Contact feels this vehicle is unsafe and that the

I noticed the engine light went on few weeks ago then the shafts' lights started turning on all at the same time (p-r-n-d). The car was moving and a knocking sound started when the weather gets hot. I took it to couple of car shop services and non was able to demonstrate the problem but rather, they offered to change the whole transmission for +4,500 dollars so that they would work it simply with a good profit! While driving earlier today, there was a very weird sound coming from the engine and I planed to take it to vw services so that they'd take a look at it. Unfortunately, few minutes later the car stopped moving and I had to pull up. I just found out that vw is calling vw jetta 2006-2009, engine 2.01 for the exact same reason. Though, my car is 2.5 engine but happened to have the

Tiptronic transmission failure to defective valve body that should have been covered under extended warranty but denied by vw. Took car in several times during the extended warranty period that I purchased, one time for shifting issues at low speeds. They were unable to duplicate problem and there were no error codes. The extended warranty that I purchased but the extended warranty issued by vw was good for 7 years or 100,000. At approximately 99,500 problem had been getting worse so I took it back to the dealership. I was informed that it still was not throwing an error code but in the master technician's opinion, the transmission had a problem but it was not the fault of the valve body, the covered part. Also, this is a non-serviceable transmission meaning the entire transmission
