11/05/2007 Fire ODI #10207919.0

On october 31st of this year our 2007 Volvo xc90 caught fire near the rear hatch. My wife, who normally drives this vehicle, was unable to start the car on her first attempt. It appeared that the battery was dead. After a couple of more attempts the car did start but, a check engine signal appeared. At this point she decided not to drive the car and left it at home. I came home at lunch and after a couple of attempts the car did start. I left the car running for a few minutes after which time smoke starting filling up the passenger compartment. The source of the fire seemed to be coming from the rear of the car. I looked under and around the car but, there was no obvious source of a fire. I opened the rear hatch and saw fire coming from under the rear jump seats. I immediately put out the

In a nutshell: at approximately 8:35 wednesday morning (october 28th), my Volvo xc90 spontaneously caught fire in the pouring rain. I was in the car at the time. Thankfully nobody was hurt. Toronto fire services and toronto police services both attended the scene. The most frightening part of this incident is the fact that it was completely spontaneous and very close to the gas tank! Obviously it was the result of an electrical malfunction. Thankfully another driver alerted me to the fact that my car was on fire - as it was not apparent to me - and I was able to leave the vehicle safely. I shudder to think of the potentially fatal gas explosion which would have followed, had we not been able to extinguish the fire as quickly as we did. Please see link with videos and photos of

The issue first started on ma 3rd, 2019. I was driving down the highway on my way to the beach. The road was a little bumpy and then all of the sudden my car lost all power and shut itself off. It through 3 codes, 1. Immobilizer, 2. Engine control module and 3. Climate control module. I was able to have it towed home. My husband decided to research what could cause these issues. He located a youtube video that was posted 2 years ago regarding the ECM & ccm fuses. The man recording the video experienced the same problems, and found that the fuse for the two items have blown. My husband thought maybe that might be the issue. He located the fuses and found that both of them were in fact blown. He replaced them both with brand new fuzes and the car started right now.. The next day, I drove to

The headlights started to flicker a few months ago. At first I thought I was imagining it until they started to briefly blink, I still was not sure it was happening. Tonight, as I was driving home, the lights abruptly turned off. I stopped the car as I was driving with no headlights and noticed a warning light that said low beam failure. I turned the car off and back on and the headlights started to work again. On the 30 minute drive home, the headlights would blink off and on; sometimes one would work, sometimes neither would work. Very unsafe!!! I'm very upset to read that this is a known complaint and Volvo has not addressed the problem. When the headlights turned off in the dark, I had both of my children in the car with me. It's horrible they would allow this known problem to g

IF THE CONDITION OCCURS VEHICLE OWNERS MAY NOTICE FUEL SMELL AND/OR FUEL LEAK WHICH, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE. This Recall Was Done for a 2004 Volvo xc90 . I am currently Experiencing the same problem with my 2007 volvo Xc90 AWD. Every time, I fill up to 1/2 a tank or full , I start to smell the fumes inside the vehicle . I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning matter regarding my recently acquired 2007 Volvo XC90. Upon refueling the vehicle to a level exceeding half the tank capacity, there is a discernible and persistent odor of gasoline within the cabin. Given the potential safety implications associated with such an issue, I am seeking your guidance on the appropriate course of action. In researching this matter, I have come across similar concerns raised by other owners of the same vehicle model. This has heightened my awareness of the need to address this issue promptly and comprehensively. In an effort to troubleshoot the matter, I have inspected the fuel cap and surrounding areas for visible leaks. However, the matter persists, prompting my inquiry. Additionally, I would appreciate

It's a known fact the the transmission for my model year 2007 have a bad valve body inside them that can go out at any time. Volvo knows about this and changed out the transmission for there 2008 model and did nothing about the poir years. The cost for a new transmission is well $5000. I just bought my in to the dealership to have it checked. The transmission is a factory sealed unit and can not be checked. Unless you take apart the whole lower part of the car in otto take out the transmission.

Brake system failure 3 months after brake system service by an authorized dealer. I had my 2007 Volvo xc90 serviced by momentum Volvo in houston texas. They have serviced brake system and installed new brake pads. 3 months later, the brake system started to perform poorly, car was unstable when braking and brakes would make a screeching noise. Another Volvo dealer diagnosed failure of brake pads and rotors and installed new parts for a cost of $600.00 Volvo claims that this is not warranty related item even though the parts have been installed only 3 months ago. I believe, this problem is serious enough for consideration for a recall as consumers my not be aware of poor brake system condition soon after the brake system service and this may lead to an unsafe or hazardous situation. *tr

We started the car there was a clicking sound from the engine, we drove for about 3-4 minutes. I noticed the ac wasn't working well and my husband who was driving looked down at the temperature gauge and it was in the red. Since we were at a red light and we couldn't pull over he turned the car off to let it cool down. Once the stop light turned green other cars had to go around us until we let it cool down enough to restart and pull over. The engine was really hot. He checked the coolant which was full and the oil which was also fine. We then had our vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer said it was the cooling fan circuit and they removed and replaced the cooling fan assembly. *tr
