The Cadillac Company sent me a letter several years ago informing me of a premature timing chain wear and the illumination of the Service Engine light. They knew about this defective engine problem but they did not recall the vehicle. Instead they extended the engine warranty to 10 years or 120,000 miles. I have only 90,000 miles on my vehicle but I've owned it for over 10 years and now the check engine light is illuminated. The Cadillac dealer refuses to extend the warranty. This is a safety issue because if the engine were to fail the driver would also lose power steering and power brakes putting the safety of the vehicle occupants and others at risk. I believe that this vehicle and other GM vehicles with the 3.6 liter engine should be recalled and repaired at no cost to the vehicle ow

Check engine light on vehicle start shutting down while vehicle was in motion on a pa interstate and on a city street this has happened on serval occasion , then the park to shift lights comes on and the vehicle at that time is unable to shut off. At lease three time this year 2016 (apr#7th oct 26th and nov 3rd each time the vehicle had to be towed, approx six time since I purchased the vehicle in nov 2011.
Suddenly lost navigation system, which also shut down clock and other applications within that system. Had it checked out at two different dealers, they were unable to find the problem. Called gm customer center and was told this is a long standing problem, something to do with the unit being unable to synchronize with new satellites for GPS. Wrote to gm hqs, ot a reply back that "it was being worked", with no expected date for a fix. After doing additional research, found this issue has indeed been happening to this and similar Cadillac series vehicles; and that gm has no plan for a fix. I believe this is a safety issue as it occurs randomly and in in the wrong location and wrong situation could sufficiently distract driver to cause an accident. At the least gm should be notifying ow

I purchased this car in january of 2010 from apple Chevrolet Cadillac located in york pa. When I purchased this car I bought it used however it still had the remaining manufactures powertrain warranty. It had 51,554 miles on it at the time of purchase. On feb 9, 2011 I reported to heritage Cadillac in belair md. That I had an issue with the check engine light coming on and that I want to have that take care of before the warranty ran out. When I took the car there I was told that since the light had went out before I got there, there was no way they could tell what was wrong which I found out to be false because months later they were in fact able to check it with the check engine light being off. To make a long story short, since the first incident I have take my car back to heritage cadi

I had this car serviced at gold coast Cadillac, oakhurst, n.j. On march 25, 2013 and the mileage was 42,951. Since my wife does not drive much anymore, we do not use this car very much as you can see by the mileage. On or about november 13, 2014 I got into the car and when I started the engine the display said "service air bag". Since I felt that this was a problem that should be addressed by gm because of all the problems with air bags, I emailed a letter telling gm about my problem. I received a follow up call from some women representing gm. I told her about the problem and she told me my car was not on the recall list. I guess neither were all the gm cars that had defective ignition switches. I told her that this car had never been touched by another car (accident) and is in pri

Upon reaching her destination my wife reached up to push the stop engine toggle switch and the entire assembly collapsed into the inside of the dash panel. Since the engine was still running she was able to get the vehicle to an independent repair facility nearby. They were able to remove the dash panel and found that the housing box for the switch had broken away from it's dash mount and fell into the dash. They were able to epoxy it back together and further secured it with a zip tie as a temporary fix.

The technician replaced all of the tires but the failure persisted. The technician was unable to determine what was causing the failure and referred the contact to an authorized dealer. Also, the contact mentioned that there was a sudden increased in engine rpms and it was difficult to slow the vehicle down. The contact mentioned in one instance while traveling 30 MPH, the vehicle suddenly accelerated causing the contact to almost lose control o
