The control arm bushings had to be replaced with less than 8000 miles on the car. They went so bad the car swerved and clanked and chattered when the brakes were applied. Less than 8000 miles on the car??? This is a joke. I see on the internet a lot of people with same complaints. Why no recall? *tr
Electrical power steering assist lost while driving. Required greater driver effort at low vehicle speeds to steer and turn, increasing the risk of a crash. Found recalls for 2010 Chevy cobalt for electric power assist system, but not for model year 2008, please help.
Power steering failed. Chapman Chevrolet in tempe az said that steering column needed to be replaced. Charged $970 to replace it. May 26 the power steering again failed and this time there was a recall for electric power steering motor was under recall and parts unavailable. About a month and 1/2 late repairs were made. August 2,2014 again failed and .again power steering motor was replaced. Chapman Chevrolet and gm are refusing to pay for the original amount paid for replacement of the steering column even though the steering column was replaced on numerous gm cars including 2010 cobalts,, 2004/05/06/08/09 malibus, Saturn aura 2008/09, chev hhr 2009/10,. The car began smelling strongly of gas and became difficult to start. There is a leak in the fuel system. There are recalls due to fuel leaks in my state for the 2007 and 2009 cobalt, however, for my 2008 model the recall is only in arizona. My vehicle is having the same issues and should be recalled as well. *tr

I drive a 2008 Chevy cobalt lt, I have had to take it in twice to get the turn signals to turn themselves off after turning. The most recent incident is my parking brake, the rachet from what I was told broke off, I asked how they said they did not know. I asked how common this happens they said they have never seen it happen before, yet somehow I am responsible for it. I believe it was a manufacturing defect, parking brakes do not just break like that. I drive a manual and my parking brake is kind of imperative to prevent from rolling when it sparked. *tr
The cabin of the vehicle had the smell of fuel fumes, especially when filling up the vehicle. Saw on tv that the cobalt had a fuel system recall and assumed that was the problem. The problem was the fuel tank was cracked at the fill neck. I had to pay to replace the fuel tank ($690), gm paid for the part being recalled. *tr

Increasingly the vehicle is not operating properly. The lighting is not consistent and the smallest addition of extra features requiring power (ex: using one or more window controls, heater and or defogger, lighting in dash at full capacity, musical performance, radio and bass, etc) will cause the power of existing devices to flutter or surge for example the headlights will dim out when turning the windows down or the vehicle will begin to vibrate and shake even more almost as though it is overpowering and wanting to shut down or quit. Also the rpms will feel like they are hiccuping or bouncing down and up more than usual and at random times and speeds at times seems like its going to red line even if you take your foot off the gas.
