I was driving and all of a sudden my engine light came on and a message popped on my dash board that said enging power reduced. This is about the 10th time or more that this has happened to me. After google searching the problem, there are hundreds of people having this same issue with their Chevy impala. There needs to be a recall on this!!! No one should have to come out of their pocket. *js

My impala will completely shut down and lock up everytime it rains. I can be driving 5 MPH through a parking lot and water film on the pavement and my impala will shake, lock up and shut down. I was leaving my church parking lot to turn right onto road, my impala shut down and drifted straight across the street almost landing in the ditch. Thank god there was no oncoming traffic. It has happen while driving 35 and car shut down. It is very terrifying to drive a car that shuts down and have no control over. I have small children and am fearful my and their safety. *tr updated 2/16/16 *js
I was driving about 35 MPH the entire car system shut off , no warning lights came, I rolled into a dirt parking lot, and turned the key off, sat there for a little while then continue to work, had to take alternate route, didn't know when or if it would happen again. It did happen again later that afternoon, while autozone tech was checking my battery. It was frightening, thank god!! Traffic was light.I live where a lot of big rigs come and go, I mostly drive freeways, but that day I had to change my route. *tr

I started the car with the remote start and it was warming up, went out put my two small children I and started it with the key, went back to grab my bag, and got in to go. When I hopped in the message center was blinking; engine power reduced, stabilization track, and something else to do with the traction control. It was very cold out and we had a long drive, I was very scared we would be stranded in the cold. My car has several miles, but has always been taken care of. This is very frustrating, and scary. I have done some research on-line, and it sounds as though Chevy is doing nothing to help the situation, and its happening with a lot of the same year vehicles! I love my car, this is the first big issue, I am so sad about it. I am worried about driving with my kids, from what I
I have a 2008 Chevrolet impala ltz. I have had several occasions now when my car has started flashing "service stabilitrak" "engine power reduced" "service airbags" and then all the corresponding lights come on. One of the times the vehicle flashed all of those warnings, the lights came on and the car died, while I was driving. It lost all power and it took everything I had to steer the vehicle off the road. I had my [xxx] year old with me that time and was scared I was not going to be able to get us to a safe spot to sit and wait for help. The most recent incident happened last evening on my way home from work. I was driving on the freeway going about 75mph, the warnings flashed and then my car lost power and felt as though it was not handling the road as well as it should. I live I

Know issue of heater going out and ticking sound. Heat not on one side of the car.
Door locks will not lock or unlock. Door locks have quit working one by one. Front driver door only door with key lockable unlockable feature. Therefore, doors can only be unlocked by unlocking driver door and crawling into car and manually unlocking all other doors. I have owned no other car that had this feature where out in less than seven years. This is a safety hazard not being able to unlock/lock doors. The locks don't work whether car stationary or in motion.
2008 Chevrolet impala. Consumer believes the ignition switch should have been modified to secure and stabilize the key. *ta the dealer placed a small plastic plug in the ignition key. The consumer stated the key fit the same way it did prior to the repair; it still had play in the fit and it was not secure. Secondly, the ignition switch itself still had the same amount of play in it, after the so called repair. *jb
