Recalled tire, bf goodrich commercial t/a lt245/75r16, delaminated while I was driving 60 MPH on a good surface, well maintained road. Luckily I maintained control and stopped on a wide paved shoulder. The DOT number was be11jd115111. I was never informed in any manner of this recall from either the tire manufacturer or my local dealer. Both could have easily informed me, but did not. Why? My name, address, and phone number along with the DOT number was on file with my local dealer. I checked with the owner of the business and was told he was not informed by bf goodrich. He did see the recall notice in a tire magazine but did not check his computer files as he did receive notice from bf goodrich. Had he received a recall notice, he would have checked his computer files. The known ti

My sprinter developed a leak in the roof in 2011. Water would collect in the OEM roof mounted a/c unit, then leak into the cabin when I started to drive . The quantity of water that would flow through the unit back into the passenger cabin was approx 2-3 cups of water, depended on how much rain water accumulated. I had this repaired in sept 2012 by Mercedes benz of chicago, for the cost of $1285. This was not under warranty. They said the seal was defective and was allowing water back into the cabin. Most of the cost was for labor, the seal will eventually have to be replaced again, as the roof flexes causing it to eventually crack and break. This is an obvious manufacturing/engineering defect. *tr

The esp dash light came on while leaving parking stall, the sprinter shifted hard down to first and would not shift. I turned the vehicle off and restarted now the vehicle was in high gear and would not shift driving on city street. I drove a short distance 1/2 mi. And turned the vehicle off, let it sit for a minute or so and restarted, the vehicle drove fine for a mile or so then the esp dash light came on again, no issues with shifting this time. The next day while driving on a residential street the esp light did not come on for a 1/4 mile when it did there was no shifting issue. I turned off the vehicle and restarted and the light did not come back on for several miles on city streets and one stop and restart at fuel station.
