Ford had sent recall notice not to have anyone in passengers seat until airbag is replaced but also states the parts won't be available until spring 2018. This is too long to wait for a fix for something that can cause bodily injury.

Takata recall - I was notified of this recall almost a full year ago. However, there has been no resolution. More often than not, there are passengers in my vehicle, and I (we) would like the reassurance of having this recall completed so that we know we are safe riding in this vehicle. I have called the dealerships a few times, and have been informed that the parts needed for this recall have not even been produced yet. Please let me know when I may expect this issue to be resolved.

Takata recall - received a letter today from Ford that the remedy parts have been delayed. The first notification dates back to june 2016. Ford's recent request to delay the recall failed, but now we are being notified that the parts are not going to be available at the timeline stated in june 2016 notice, with no firm timeline indicating when they will be available. Meanwhile, Ford is directing me to not use my passenger seat. This is not a timely recall repair, and it is leaving consumers limited in how they utilize their vehicles.
Tl-contact owns a 2008 Ford edge ---- tk holdings notice received --two letters received from Ford -- Ford dealership stated airbag replacement was not a big deal and did not need to be replaced right away-- contact given number to federal trade commission.
Takata recall the passenger frontal airbag could rupture causing death or injury. This recall is incomplete, I contacted Ford as instructed to do so to correct this recall and they informed us that takata (the manufacturer that made the airbags) has filed chapter 11 bankruptcy. I am being told there is no remedy available yet. I am driving myself and my children around in an unsafe vehicle.

Takata recall service at earnhardt Ford chandler az has been contacted several times since original recall letter was received july 2016, and we have been advised each time they still do not have the parts to fix our vehicle from this recall. Last contact was november 2017.
Takata recall'', I received a letter last year about the airbag recall and never heard anything else until october 2017 a postcard saying the takata company has filed bankrupt and the parts are not yet available. I get a letter in december stating that the parts are still unavailable and maybe by spring 2018 I should get my airbag replaced on the driver side and I was also instructed not to have any passengers on the passenger side or the airbag will erupt and could cause injury or even death. I was reading in the newspaper about the same airbag in Honda and the driver airbag erupted and the driver was killed, how am I surpose to believe that my passenger side is only defected and not both. I also use my car for my job, I transport me clients to their outing, and appointments this is c

While driving through an intersection at approx 40 MPH transmission shutter and locked the wheels up. Luckily the traffic around me was able to Dodge me without incident. I shut it off and restarted put into 1st gear and pulled off to side of road. There was burnt gear oil smell coming from under the SUV. Now it comes and goes trans slipping and ptu overheating.
My husband was driving with me and our 2 children on the highway at 70 MPH. All gauges (fuel, speedometer, odometer, etc.) stopped working and the odometer read "odo data error". We had a GPS that we were using and displayed our speed, so we kept going the 5 miles to our planned stop along the way home. When we restarted the car, the gauges were back up but it made a loud thumping sound when changing gears. It reversed fine (but we were on a slope), then thumped again as we switched to drive. The car only revved and did not move. We reversed again to situate ourselves so the slope was in our favor when we switched to drive. It was a tough start, but it did go. I called the dealership to report (this was on a saturday) and was told that I could bring it in, but they wouldn't be able to look

The driver door ajar warning is illuminated on the dash and the doom lights wont turn off. I have found out this is a very common issue with fords where the poorly designed door latch binds up. I had this same issue with my 2002 explorer and now with my 2008 edge. It becomes a huge safety issue at night since the dome lights will not turn off so it is hard to see outside and could potentially cause an accident. From what I can tell I have been lucky to get this far before this issue has surfaced since I have read that Ford cars 2 to 3 years old seem to have this very same issue. *js

Takata recall same story as many other posters here, just adding to the list. 2008 Ford edge w/ 170,000. Speedometer quits working, low tire pressure light, wrench light, airbag light -- initially works as if in low gear (high RPM's and little speed), then quits accelerating all together -- loud thump when change between p / r / d. I was driving down the hwy at 60 MPH. Had to stop and pull over and let the car sit before I could go again it took about 15mins before the car would go again.
brakes 1 complaint shown
I was driving and the brakes are stiff and I could not stop. I have nearly wrecked 3 times now apparently due to a faulty brake booster. This seems to be a known problem but I don't know why only the 2010 to 2013 models have the extended warranty for the brake boosters. This is ridiculous to not have any warning my brakes are out. Especially since Ford is aware of the issue. *tr

2008 edge purchased new in 2009. Immediately noted strange surging when accelerating and braking. Concerned about transmission. Notified Ford cooperate when dealer said vehicle was performing 'normally" so concerned ceased driving on freeway. In sept of 2011, took vehicle to be serviced. They asked that I wait even though I shared ongoing concerns. Vehicle was given to me and told that all was well. At 32000, in dec. Of 2011 engine light came on...took to dealer who advised me they would need to keep it for some time and engine needed to be removed. 6 days later, I was notified that there was a problem with the cam phaser and also something with cooling system. Other issues that should be noted is that the battery has been replaced multiple times. The car for no reason has alarm go off. Ve
