The back driver's door will not open. Door is unlocked but cannot be opened from the inside or outside of the car. *kb
Our 2008 Ford focus has become increasingly harder to crank. We have been have to apply pressure while turning the key and now it won't start at all. I am now stranded at work until I can get someone to come pick me up. I have been told it is a pin inside the ignition that wears down until it can no longer make contact with the part inside to get car to crank. I believe Ford really needs to look into this because I have seen many people having this issue on this and other websites. *tr

I was in an accident where I rear ended a truck on the highway going approximately 50 MPH. There was an accident to the right of me on the highway shoulder and I looked to my right as I saw a guy get out of his car. I swerved and looked forward. It was at that time that I saw a truck completely stopped in front of me. I hit the truck and did complete damage to my car. I am concerned because there was extreme damage to my vehicle and my driver's airbag did not deploy. I had no passengers in the car, no other airbag deployed. My state police trooper who was on the scene said to file a complaint because my airbags most definitely should have deployed. I suffered some injuries and I am looking into this matter further. I just hope in the mean time this doesn't happen to someone else as it coul
Airbag light came on. The vehicle has 123,000 on it. It just recently came on the dash while driving. I see there is no recall for airbag light indicator.

Car started reveing hard and then acting like gears were slipping and next day reverse is out of car and can not drive it
The mileage on the vehicle was at 83,000 miles, at the time the issues began. When the car attempted to accelerate from a stopped position, the 1-2 gears started slipping, check engine and wrench light appeared. Took it to a mechanic, diagnostics test stated that it was a "shift solenoid d closed" had my mechanic replace it, it still did not work. I spent 400 bucks to replace the d solenoid, and the car is still in the same condition! I have seen countless complaints on this issue online, why hasn't there been a recall?! Had I known the 2008 Ford focus sucked this bad, I never would have bought it!

The back passenger door latch failed resulting in the door not remaining closed. The door had to be held shut with a belt so that it could be safely driven. Thank god that no one was in the back seat as they might have been hurt if the door flew open while driving. The amato Ford dealer did a diagnostic test (for what we are not sure as it is a manual door no electronic locks or windows) that cost 113 dollars and then told us it would cost 385 dollars to fix. This is clearly a safety issue and Ford should fix this before someone is killed. I have been a loyal Ford customer but never again will I purchase a Ford vehicle if they care this little for their customers safety. *tr

steering 1 complaint shown
Potential for accident. My 2008 Ford focus started having power steering issues around 55000 miles. It would become intermittent in power assist to the point it would cause the steering to feel it was jumping from side to side. Took into the Ford dealership and they stated that teflon (used to help reduce friction on the gears, along with fluid) flakes were in the system and and that some part of the gear system was coming apart inside. Going to replace the rack and pinon system and attempt to flush out power steering pump, due to the worm gear in the rack and pinon being contaminated. Service advisor also stated that if continued to drive in this state steering could potentially lock up rendering the vehicle uncontrollable.

The spark plugs keep blowing out of the engine head. So far, 3 out of 4 have come out. Some more than once after repairing with a helicoil.

2008 Ford focus with seat belt safety defect. Consumer states that the shoulder strap and lap belt can not be adjusted for height on the two door model. Consumer believes these would be unsafe in a frontal collision. *kb
