My 2008 civic hybrid has a power train issue. Often, when accelerating, the car jumps or jerks. It is almost like you accelerate then brake then accelerate and brake over and over while your foot is only on the gas. This happens regardless of the vehicle's temperature or the weather conditions and happens periodically. It may happen once a week, once every two months or three times a day. I contacted the dealership and I have an appointment to get it fixed. The service department seemed to know exactly what I was talking about and said the problem is under warranty. The service representative also mumbled something about a recall. I have not been notified of a recall and this website is not showing one either. Just a heads up for other hybrid owners. *tr

I went to a mechanic today, I have 'passenger airbag off light flashing' he told me hondas have recalled for airbags in dealerships so I checked my vehicle report it says that I had 2 recalls in 2019 and I did them but I didn't. 'recall subject: air bags: passenger side frontal report receipt date: 06/27/2019 NHTSA campaign: 19v502000' I believe I had that problem when I bought my car, my passenger lights off blinking while I'm driving even tho no passengers there. So I was trying to check my recalls on the Honda website it shows that I don't have any. Also, I have a problem when I do reverse engine light starts flashing p0812 code but no problems except code

Pulled into a parking space at place of work. Placed foot on brake. Put vehicle in park. Did not remove key from ignition and car moved forward hitting a fence and into a building (brick wall) finally stopping. Vehicle is a 2008 Honda civic 4-door ex model. Unable to stop vehicle. *tr

I had an incident with my 2008 Honda civic. I was pulling into the church parking lot and turned to park in the grass next to another vehicle when I lost the steering and then suddenly the car jumped forward out of control and crashed into a tree about 10 ft in front of me. I thought the gas pedal had stuck but the adjustor was not able to confirm that this was the case. I never put my foot on the gas pedal-I was braking and going less than 10 mi/hr at the time. I have been unable to find out what caused the car to leap forward and accelerate. I have had no other incidents with this vehicle. I have put around 35,000 miles on the car mostly highway driving. *tr

The air bag indicator light on the car's dash panel came "on" without any event triggering it. My local repair shop, playa west automotive (310-822-9115) investigated & received a "32-10" open circuit indication for the passenger side air bag, showing that the passenger side air bag deployment system was de-activated. This explains the light coming "on". Their investigation found a frayed wiring harness under the passenger seat. The shop called the local Honda dealer & was told that there was a repair advisory about this issue, but the Honda dealer refused to do any repair to fix it b/c the car is no longer under warranty. This repair is going to cost me over $700 for parts & labor b/c the passenger seat has to be removed to access the wiring. Can you please investigate whether or

It sure if it is a takayuki inflators recall - but the notice from Honda indicated that the repair would be available later summer or fall. It is now late december and I have lost the use of my front passenger seat with no update as to when this will be rectified. I have owned 6 hondas and this may be the last. It is pathetic that we cannot even get an update. I want a car where all the seats are usable!!!

Tl*the contact owns a 2008 Honda civic. The contact stated that she owned a 2006 Honda civic and had constant issues with the rack and pinion and power steering. She took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced the entire part of the steering system containing the rack and pinion. A month and a half later, the failure recurred and she decided to trade the 2006 in for a 2008, in hopes that the failure would be resolved. Two months later, at 3,500 miles, the power steering was leaking just like the 2006 Honda civic. The parts were replaced on the 2008. The dealer stated that there was a three week back order for this particular part that keeps failing. The failure mileage was 3,500. Updated 01/29/09.*lj updated 01/30/09. *jb

The bracket the holds the alternator and is connected to the engine block snapped while I was driving on a city street. I lost power steering and the belt came off. The alternator was just dangling. From what I understand, this is a known problem with this model vehicle and it seems to be a serious design flaw.

Clear coat began cracking, had it redone by the dealership. Now the paint on the hood is chipping abnormally fast, and the right front fender had to be redone (12/15/14) since the clear coat was flaking off. I take great care of my car, but find myself highly discouraged to continue doing so given that I cannot afford a new car and I'm fighting a losing battle with both rust and chips. I don't have time to touch up 10-15 spots bi-weekly, regardless of size. *tr

Over time, the plastic portion of my driver's side sun visor rotted and broke so that the visor is constantly down. Because of this, my field of vision is always restricted. If I tape the visor up, frequently I'm blinded by the sun or other bright lights. I have contacted Honda regarding this defect, but as yet, they won't fix the problem. *tr

I do not often drive a night but in recent months, when I did drive at night, I had significant difficulty seeing the highway. I thought "well, it must be my age" so I decided to buy ge nighthawk bulbs to replace the OEM (sylvania DOT g0708 usa)bulbs. I bought the nighthawk bulbs because they are supposed to provide 30% greater light. Today (12/29/2010) I decided to remove the OEM bulbs and install the ge nighthawk bulbs. When I removed the OEM low beam bulbs I noticed there was a tan coating inside the bulb that extended from the bottom of the bulb to slightly above the tip of the bulb beyond midway as they bulb is installed. There was also some of the tan substance at the base of the bulb. From the amount of coating inside the bulb I am guessing light volume would have been reduced

Visibility wiper. As part of a class action law suit, http://settlement-claims.com/visorsettlement/, both visors were changed around 2011/2012. As of this summer both visors are exhibiting the same problem where plastic cracks, retention clips protrude, and visors to not hold desired position. This affects visibility or ability to obstruct sunlight. Honda na has agreed to cover a second replacement under warranty. Case number: 01679545.

2008 Honda civic's have a brake system problem. I had to replace my brakes all around at 12,935 miles, the front brakes had to be replaced again at 22,885, and then all around again at 37,417. I placed a complaint with Honda america, they are unwilling to admit that there is a brake system problem. I was told it is how I drive the car. There hasn't been a failure yet, I am trying to avoid a failure and would like to have this issue checked.
