2008 Jeep Wrangler owner complaints

Fuel overflow from filler tube and sprays onto person pumping fuel, vehicle and surrounding environment. This happen every time we fuel Jeep. We have had the Jeep since 2008 and problem started in december 2010. This Jeep looks brand new and garage kept and never been off road. *tr

Filling up at the gas station the gasoline overflows out of the tank, it happens almost every time I fill up my 2008 Jeep wrangler. *tr

Gas tank overflowed violently when the gas station automatic pump shut off.

Gas will spill out (splash) from the filler tube because the automatic fuel shutoff feature on gas pumps will not detect fuel fill level until too late. Gas will usually hemorrhage enough to splash out of the tube and run down the side of the vehicle and collect on the bumper. If you stand too close in some cases you might get gas on your clothing. This seems to be a common problem with late model Jeep jk models

The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 16v290000 (air bags), 16v352000 (air bags), and 09e044000 (equipment); however, the parts for the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. My 2008 Jeep wrangler started having an airbag warning light come on occasionally, over the last month it has gotten more frequent. I have done a bunch of research on the problem and found that it appears to be a common problem with Chrysler products. The issue is a defective clockspring, about a $500 fix through the dealer. There is a current recall for right hand drive jeeps for the same problem but Chrysler will not honor that for the left hand drive jeeps. I have tried talking to my dealer, and Chrysler direct with no luck. I am confused as to how they can get away with refusing to fix a known safety problem, not to mention morally. I experience the "death wobble" daily. It starts around 45 MPH and continues until I stop. It makes the Jeep shake and hard to control. The shaking is so bad, it will cause drinks to get thrown from the cupholder. It has progressively gotten worse over the past year or so.

Vehicle began violently shaking on the interstate. It now shakes at any speeds greater than 40 MPH and any bumps in the road or turns also set it off. The vehicle was unable to be turned or moved off the road during the shaking and the shaking only stops once the vehicle slows down to under 10 MPH. *tr

While driving approximately 60 MPH, the contact noticed that the steering wheel would shake excessively, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The dealer made six attempts to diagnose a failure; the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle in for diagnosis. Every time you fuel the vehicle to gas overflows out of the fuel inlet onto the side and rear fender of the vehicle.

Every time I fuel the Jeep, it overflows after its full and spills everywhere. The first time this happened, the fuel spilled all over my pants and shoes and hand. This is a safety hazard and needs to be fixed. The overfilling problem has been occurring everytime I fill up. *tr

Gas overflows and spills out during every fueling. I think it is an inlet check valve issue. Gas tank also leaks gas around the fuel pump seal. Smells like gas outside the vehicle

Vehicle when parked and / or while driving will start blaring the horn, spraying wiper fluid, wipers engage, lights go on and off / then off and the only way to make it stop is to battery or give the tipm an easy tap on the top. I have taken it to dealer and they want to start replacing electrical components starting with the cheap one at 350.00. This started happening at around 40k miles and at the time there were not any modifications on the Jeep. My Jeep was missing and before it caught fire it started lunging real bad I stop the Jeep and got out because I heard crackling and I looked and saw it was on fire. I called the fire department and it burned completely. *tr

I have a 2008 Jeep wrangler 4x4. In this month of december 2012 my jeeps headlights, horn, windshield wipers just started turning on for no reason.the engine will stall at speeds and sometimes there is no throttle response. Have called my local Jeep dealer and Chrysler..they told me there was no recall for this.I have searched this on the internet and there are hundreds of complaints about the same problem...as a gather from the complains its due to a faulty tipm. Fuel overflows when refueling. Overflow occurs even without filling the tank. Parking brake doesn't work unless you pull it up very hard and still doesn't keep it from rolling. Air conditioner doesn't cool. It has been in the service department several times for repair. Blows "smoke" from vents. A loud "knock" sound when you turn the a/c on/off or when you crank the vehicle and the a/c control is on. Soft top leaks over both doors when it rains. Service department has confirmed proper top installation. Sharp edges on the roll bars. Roll bar covers have ripped as a result of putting the top up or down. Intermittently, after driving, I noticed that there is a brake burning smell coming from the rear left wheel. The diagnosis is a stuck caliber (piston). There are other recalls on Jeep brake pistons, however, when I called Chrysler customer service, they assured me that there was no recall on this issue. I started my 2008 Jeep wrangler jk and immediately got a check engine light with an audible sound. The engine was running very rough and shaking. I turned off the engine and it seemed fine but the check engine light was still on. I have a obd2 diagnostic code reader and it showed the code p0306. This is a misfire on the number six cylinder. I took it to larry h. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership in albuquerque and this is what was done. "wi tech diagnostics for fault codes, had store codes for injector #6 circuit, no work done, operating as per design".
