Brought my car to Kia dealership upon re-call 6/2012 to replace clock spring assembly. 12/28/2015 - brought car to same Kia dealership and found that the clock spring assembly had to be replaced again since the air bag light continues to stay on. Called Kia same day to let them know that the assembly had to be replaced and that they should be responsible for payment. They stated that it was not under warranty and since the dealership replaced the original assembly during the re-call, I would have to pay the cost for the defective assembly that was replaced during re-call with the newly installed assembly on 12/29/2015. I believe it is the Kia corporations responsibility to absorb payment for the defective clock spring assembly that controls deployment of the driver side air bag. I will

Takata recall. I don't know enough about vehicle airbags to know if my problem is part of the takata recall. However, I've learned that Kia did issue a recall for an airbag problem with the rondo (# sc094). Unaware of this recall, I brought my Kia to the Kia dealer when my airbag light illuminated. It's possible that the date was prior to the Kia recall. The Kia dealer told me that I must pay out of pocket for any investigation of the cause of the airbag light illuminating due to the expiration of the 60,000 mile warranty on the vehicle. To this day, the airbag light is still illuminated. I'm not certain of the exact date that I notified the Kia dealer.

My vehicle reves up high when I start it and when I'm on the highway it would just cut off and there's gas fumes I smellinside my Kia, it also hesitates while driving.
There were things leading up to the incident that I was not aware of as a problem as the ESC light would go on, but then it would turn off and I was always told that I don't have a problem with anything unless the light goes on and stays on, so I never had it checked. The other night as I was driving down the road I had my 2008 Kia rondo in cruise control. When I needed to break, the car slowed down a little, but the automatic cruise control continued to accelerate my car. The practice of applying the break did not turn off the cruise control and I continued to accelerate. Only when I hit the cancel button on the column did the cruise control turn off. When I got to the location I needed to go to I could only get the car to go from drive into neutral. It would not go back into pa

After smelling a strong smell of gasoline in our garage, we took our Kia rondo to firestone to have it checked out. They found that a seam on the gas tank had separated and there was rust in the area that they believed was caused by road salt applied to our roads during the winters we have had the car (st. Louis). We took the vehicle to Kia and they have refused to cover the replacement of the gas tank, which is only 6 years old. This gas tank is metal and is defective and should be recalled on all 2008 Kia rondos. *tr
In september 2011, check engine light came on. The vehicle would not restart after refueling. I would have to pump the gas before the car would restart and it would make a sound like it was trying to suck up gas through a straw that had a hole in it. I had a fuel injection flush and dye added but unable to detect what was causing the problem. This went on for several months. Currently, the car does not turn over on the first attempt. It takes approximately 3 attempts for the car to start. This is in addition to the car not starting after refueling. I took car in for repair and was told that I needed to replace the fuel pump assembly. As I researched the recommended repair, I learned that Kia recalled other 2008 rondo's, so I called them and was told that my vehicle is a 2.7 liter
The "ESC off" light is constantly illuminated on the dash, and my mechanic could not turn it off. Sometimes, after emerging from a 90-degree turn (I.e., at an intersection), the car's brakes will suddenly engage on their own (and usually "pump"), rendering the accelerator inoperable and the brakes uncontrollable, while the "ESC off" light flashes on and off. This has lasted for as long as ten seconds, causing the vehicle to slow almost to a stop in traffic. I have searched online and found that I am not the only Kia owner to experience this.

On multiple occasions, our Kia rondo has experienced an electrical issue that affects our power steering and our dashboard lights. These have all occurred while driving in wet conditions. We drove through a small puddle in the road and our power steering failed. At the same time our seatbelt light began flashing and our brake light and battery lights came on. We were able to get off the road and everything began working again in about one minute. *tr
