Car was being driven on a busy city street, stopped for red light, when I went to accelerate I had to pump the pedal-to be safe I decided to turn onto street at intersection where I was stopped at light, car came to a dead stop in middle of street. This was very close to the freeway on ramp that I was going to. Another 1/2 mile and had I not decided to turn off on to the side street the car would have stopped in the middle of a freeway with probable fatalities. Car had to be towed to repair shop. Fuel pump is inside gas tank in this model. Repair was $3373.88. Mercedes benz dealer has parts in stock for a 2008 model. This is in itself is unusual and seems like they are expecting multiple fails. There are also multiple reports of same doing an online search. Should be recalled in my opinion

The driver side seat heater when turned on has begun to burn through the seat itself causing a hole the size of now a nickel (lower left hand side of the seat). Happened just before thanksgiving and again when my wife was driving the car and forgot there was an issue. The smell and the smoke from the burning seat made her pull the car over. When this first happened, it actually burnt a whole in my jacket as well. All images have been attached. I have spoken with Mercedes and their solution is repair the issue and then place a cover over the area. Still does not seem safe or an appropriate fix. *tr

I drove a short distance and started to smell burning, and saw some smoke in the cabin. I immediately pulled over and shut down the car. I called my husband and when he arrived we discovered that my driver's seat back had burned through from the seat heater. Luckily I was not injured and the burning did not spread, I assume because I was able to stop quickly and get out.

My car displayed all of the issues listed below for the Electrical system recall. The fuel gague went "blank", other gagues acting irradical, the check engine light stay on, etc. My car make and model fall under this recall but have been excluded. Upon exiting my vehicke., I noticed a strong burning smell but could not pinpoint it. Over the next couple of days the smell persisted and my dashboard warning system alerted me that my tail lights were not working. The messages were alternating between rear left tail lights, rear right brake and tail lights, the turn signals, etc. It was just changing all the time. I took it in to the Mercedes dealer and they said I needed an entire tail light assembly and then told me they didn't know. As if now I have another appointment for 7 jan 2920.

2008 MercedesE350 (W211) Driver’s seat heater, ~11:48am Location: Lidl Parking Lot, 2017 St. Joseph’s Dr., Bowie/Upper Marlboro, MD While I was sitting in the driver’s seat with my back fully against it, the seat heater burned through the leather on the left side of the seat. The cabin immediately filled with smoke. The burning stopped only after I turned off the seat‑heater button. I was inside the vehicle during the failure, and the situation created a direct fire hazard; the seat could have ignited, and I could have caught fire. I don’t know if the passenger seat heater is also affected, so passengers cannot safely use their seat warmer. No warning lamps, messages, or symptoms pre failure. The fuel gauge has become inconsistent during the past few months. The fuel levels run up and down and never go below the half way mark. Was driving on the freeway yesterday and the car completely ran out of gas. No warning or indication of low gas levels. Had actually show 231 miles remaining. I was able to pull over and get assistance. However, could have been very dangerous had it not been the day after christmas and no one on the road. *tr

After refueling my car's gas tank I began to notice some sort of gas leakage. It's especially pronounced when the car is parked in the garage since the fume is unmistakable. There is apparently a fuel leakage near the rear tire (driver's side). I'm concerned that if there were anything in the garage that is ignited it would cause some terrible incident. After I brought my car in for service I found out that the fuel sender unit needs to be replaced along with a related gasket. This type of problem should not experience failure at this low mileage. *tr

Just purchased this 2008 e550 with 100k miles on it. It was inspected and said to be a great maintained vehicle with no issues. I was driving on a city street and a red indicator light came on telling me stop car too low. Car was in sport mode with the vehicle raised button indicator light on. I drove back to my house and parked the vehicle, as it sat for an approximate 1 hour I noticed it drop significantly. I turned the vehicle on too see if it would raise again and the compressor was still working but no movement was happening. I looked it up online and there has been numerous accounts of these vehicles having the same issue. I just spent 20k on a vehicle that lasted me 7 days. The dealership stated that the fix could cost me a few thousand depending on what they find. This is ridiculou

On two occasions I had loss of tire pressure on front wheels. Examination showed the alloy wheels to be cracked. This has happened two times in approximately 90 days. I have not hit any pot holes. Some typical road bumps maybe but no deep holes. I've had many vehicles since 1958 but never had wheels cracking. Research has shown quite a bit of people with the same low profile tires used on this vehicle are also having cracked wheels and loss of tire pressure. Besides being very costly, this indeed can be a dangerous situation. Loss of tire pressure can result in accidents and can subject vehicle operators to dangerous conditions when changing tires. I wrote to Mercedes but they will not admit to their wheels having a problem. It could be poorly designed wheels, the use of low profile
