2008 Nissan Pathfinder owner complaints

Transmisson inner cooler tank in radiator leaks , getting water in transmisson. Ruining transmission /computer etc. Had to be rebuit. Nissan wanted over $5,ooo. Got it repaired at other shop over $3,000 with still having to get it programmed at Nissan. Poor design and faulty tanks in radiator. I had shop place external transmisson radiator and new radiator to never let this happen again. Nissan was trying to buy my vehicle for $800 and was worth over $6,800 at the time. Happened while driving vehicle normal city driving 15-70 miles a day at the time. Per Nissan and the other repair shops this is a known issue and have many repairs due to this issue. Approx on date

At just over 100k miles (101406) my radiator leaked into the transmission and ruined the transmission. Nissan will not cover the repair at all because I am 1406 out of the class action settlement. Speaking with the local dealer they said there was nothing I could have done from the service side to prevent it.

Car began experiencing difficulty shifting. Repair shop reports transmission fluid and coolant intermixing, requiring replacement of both the radiator and the transmission.

Radiator leaked and mixed with transmission. Transmission oil looks like strawberry milkshake. Gears now grind when shifting during normal driving.

Transmission was slipping in first gear. Has when into limp mode many times. Have had the fluid change a couple times. Once it was slipping in the middle of a busy intersection. Had it remove and rebuilt. Antifreeze was found in the transmission. How many reports before they recall these vehicles.

An independent mechanic flushed the transmission, which provided a temporary remedy. A second independent mechanic diagnosed the transmission failure and installed a rebuilt transmission. The vehicle was repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA action number: dp12004 (power train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was not available.

Strawberry milkshake-like fluid leaking from the radiator infiltrated the transmission, causing catatrophic failure of the transmission. This problem was widely publicized in other states but not california. I was almost involved in an accident because of the car's failure to accelerate while entering onto the freeway. Shame on Nissan not to extend warnings nationwide.

The transmission started slipping and the radiator fluid is mixing with the transmission fluid. The transmission was replaced once, and now the transmission needs to be replaced again.

My raditor leaked and had to be replaced. They flushed the transmission and a week later I need a new transmission.

The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the radiator was leaking onto the transmission and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 122,600.

Airbag light is on vehicle and Nissan says not part of years of pathfinder recall ''. Same issue as other but a 2008 model. Nissan wants to much money to fix a Nissan issue with the airbag system says connector. Will not deploy in accident or may deploy any time?????? Safety issue for public. Approx time of issue started

Takata recall, I've been told several times that my VIN number is not part of the recall. I was recently in accident with major front end damage. I rear ended an SUV in the brooklyn battery tunnel. My speed was approx 15-25mph. My bumper cover, grill, radiator, transmission cooler, fan, fan shroud, headlight,s hood, etc have to be replaced, I've attached a picture. It should be pretty clear that the air bag should have gone off.

Driving a 2008 Nissan pathfinder (owned since new) down a 4 lane highway at approx 45 MPH. A pickup truck turned in front of my wife and she hit it broadside at approx 35mph. Driver side airbag did not deploy. NHTSA campaign id number 08v690000 (air bags:frontal) did not apply because it was registered in mississippi. *tr

A police report was filed. The driver sustained injuries to the chest, head, and neck, which required medical attention. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

The rear door/hatch unlatches while driving. Very dangerous especially with people in the 3rd row and with packages spilling out onto roads. The car is being brought to Nissan today to get diagnosed. *tr

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the floater was stuck in the fuel tank. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000.

Driving in hwy rainy day, wiper stopped than moved. I have to pull aside than it worked for a while than would not stop till engine is off. *tr

Radiator leaked into the transmission, both will need to be replaced $4500-4800 fix. *tr

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was a grinding sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the tie rod end and ball joints replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 10E019000 (Suspension) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 157,000.

Vehicle indicated fuel of about 1/4 tank and about 90 miles remaining. It will instantly drop to empty on the fuel tank and will show 0 miles remaining. This has occurred several times in the last couple weeks. Sometimes it is empty and sometimes it has fuel in it. *tr
