Rear brakes squeaks and worn out prematurely at 17,900 miles. *kb

12/30/2013 24,010 mi ODI #10557815.0

Loud whining noises coming from the rear wheels when the brakes were applied, caused us to have the local Honda dealer check the brakes. The rear brake pads were very badly worn through. The car is driven at highway speed approximately 50% of the time, meaning the brakes would not have excessive use. The dealer told us that the type of driving we do and how we drive caused the problem. We have since learned that Honda has had two class action law suits about this problem, here is the united states and canada. The settlement does not benefit us since the car was purchased new in july 2009. We have also learned that many drivers must repeatedly replace these brake pads. Since this is a serious safety issue, Honda should be held accountable now and in the future. *tr

Sudden screeching of rear brakes and short after grinding noise when breaking. Took car to get brakes checked and had to replace brake pads due to calipers sticking and making interior pads wear out completely while exterior pads where still good. Rotors worn to or below minimum specifications. Will have to replace both rear rotors and calipers. I have never had to replace rotors or calipers on any car, not even with 86k miles on them and on this 2009 Honda accord ex-l I have to replace them at 46,413 miles? This is not good! Honda should pay for all expenses and parts. Lowest quote to replace with OEM is approximately $750.00 what would the cost be if I would of not hear the noise and check the brakes? *tr

12/29/2010 15,000 mi ODI #10373233.0

Under normal use, rear brake pads fail at an alarming rate. My original pads were completely gone at 15,000 miles. Now the second set of pads is worn out at 30,000 miles. Front pads seem to be barely worn, and are original to the car. *tr

I want to add my name to the list of people with defective brakes on their 2009 accords. My brakes started squeaking like mad at about 17000 miles. It is unbelievable to me that Honda would not issue a recall, knowing that their rear brake pads are defective. They acknowledge this fact by making a replacement pad different from the original pad. To charge customers any amount of money for their defective product in simply unthinkable on Honda's part. *tr

I bought my 2009 Honda accord lx on december 30, 2008. Less than a month after that, my brakes started making a horrific squeaking sound every time I applied pressure to them. It does not matter if I tap them lightly or I push down hard; the brakes still make terrible noises. I took my car in to the Honda dealership twice for an oil change and once for the brake sounds. All three times, I asked the associates to check the brakes. Each time, they said the brakes were adjusted (I.e. Sanded) and that the noise should cease. On the my trip, I told them whatever they were doing wasn't working. It was then I was told that Honda accords seem to have a brake issue, but Honda is aware and working on a solution. As of last week, my car is not only making squeaking noises when I brake, it is al

Withing a few weeks after I bought the Honda accord 2009, in germantown, md, in december 2008... It started making a screeching sound in my brakes. Everytime I go get it checked, they say it's fixed. Then as soon as I drive away, the noise is still there... What the '!@#$% is this? I just got this brand new car... And started to make noise... This is a safety concern... Now, the year is ending... And the noise is there... I have no choice but to considering filing suit ... *tr

Rear brakes defective-since june 2014 have had 5 califers, 4 rotors, 2 setsof pads replaced. Car has total of 73000 miles on it. All replacements by Honda. Brakes have frozen up, got wheels so hot they smoked, could not touch, pads would not release while driving could hear them rubbing against rotors, parked car in garage and could not get it to move next day, set parking brake and fluid leaked not sure but at times rear brakes did not seem to work when brakes rapidly applied, all repairs seem to be only temporary I had a letter from Honda shortly after buying the new car asking me to bring car in for brake inspection-did so- told letter did not apply to me-brakes fine. Have complained to two dealers and made formal complaint to Honda---stonewalled

Airbag (unknown whether tamara) recall: rec'd letter from american Honda dated july 2016 notifying me of recall and saying "Honda will send you another letter when parts become available...". As of today (12/27/16) I've received nothing, so I called my local dealer - larry hopkins Honda; sunnyvale ca. Was told they have parts; have had them for a while! - but next appointment isn't until march 16. Was also they could have got me in sooner had I called sooner ! Why wasn't I notified sooner by american Honda? I regularly transport a 95 year old mother, as well as a disabled brother.

12/31/2018 110,000 mi ODI #11164161.0

Unintended acceleration. Has occurred 6 times since march 2018. No coloration with ambient temperature, weather conditions or speed. Symptom: driving & braking hard to slow down, place into neutral and engine revs up to 5k RPM. Restart car after about 10 seconds and engine runs fine, if sooner engine revs back to about 5k RPM. Taken to shop - no problem found. Has only happened at low speeds coming to a stop. Was traveling in a strait path 4 times, twice when turning into a parking spot. Note: I travel back roads mostly. Car has over 110,000 miles.

12/30/2018 ODI #11164137.0

Engine oil consumption is more and causing burning of engine oil very frequently. This is causing rattling noise when accelarating and would cause more damage to engine and can be hazardous if driving on highway.

I've had numerous incidents which can be considered close calls with Honda accords in recent months. Besides being blinded by the high beam drls (both from the front and the rear), I have had trouble seeing usage of the Honda's turn signals. This is due to the high light density of the drl next to the small turn signals. I highly recommend that these drl be eliminated. Thank you. *tr

A clicking noise comes from the steering column when turning the steering wheel when driving. The car has 101,500 miles. It has been making this noise for approximately 4 years. From previous searches I thought this was an immaterial issue (that is, harmless rubbing of plastic parts). However in now looking into this further I see there have numerous complaints, pointing to a serious point of failure issue with the steering column and it bearing components. A recall should be issued so Honda can correct this defect.

My engine is consuming more oil than it should. I recently noticed this and have done my research and it turns out to be a common random defects with Honda accords. I am worried that the engine might one day catch on fire or even fail while I am driving. I have gotten a letter from Honda stating that they believe that there is something wrong with the gas bump but they were wrong. The procedure to fix this may cost me a lot of money but I am not responsible for this damage. It effects my safety and I am not willing to risk that. *tr
