The leather dash has separated from the back causing ridges in the leather up to 3/4" high. In the event of a crash this will prevent proper deployment of the airbag. The leather needs to be firmly attached and stretched tight for the stitching to rip correctly. If the leather is loose and ridged, the stitching will only partially rip and may prevent full airbag deployment into the cabin.

Takata recall is the front airbag module which has had a recall for several months now and I'm afraid to drive my car because of that especially with my dashboard pulling apart. I had previously sent a complaint in about my dashboard but never heard anything back from NHTSA. Since I contacted you the first time my dashboard has gotten worse and I'm paying every month for a car I can't drive. Jaguar land rover used faulty adhesive on their dashboards causing a major issue for Jaguar owners and expecting us to pay thousands of dollars for an unsafe car that they put on the road. I would like to have my recall done asap along with my dashboard. Jaguar is the cause of all of this and as soon as something happens they will have a serious lawsuit on their hands. The leather on my dashboard is bu
During a visit to the Jaguar land rover mission viejo dealership for a check engine light issue, my wife was told that they would need to keep the vehicle for an extended period of time due to a recall on the airbags. I was then contacted later that day to pick up the vehicle and told that the parts were not available to replace the airbag, but that the vehicle was safe to drive. Upon looking up this recall today it states that even a minor collision could cause metal fragments to strike the driver or passenger resulting in injury or death. How is this safe?

The dashboard is bubbled up and separated causing decreased visibility due to glare from glue and possible obstruction of airbag deployment due to dashboard warping. After being inspected by dealer, only option given was to replace the dashboard which is not covered by warranty. Also wood grain interior trim splinters on dashboard below navigation screen, in door insert panels and in center consoles causing cuts and splinters. This also was not covered by warranty. *tr

I was driving in a parking lot and came to a stop but the car then accelerated and I had brake hard to hold the car back. I put the car into park. When I attempted to put the car into gear again, I could not move the shifter. I turned the car off and restarted it, and the car ran fine the rest of the evening. The next day, I was again in a parking lot and as I try to park, the engine accelerates wildly. I was able to hold the car with the brakes and put it into park. Once in park, the engine continued to rev. The shifter was now stuck. I tapped the shifter and that allowed me to shift the car and the engine went to normal operation. As of 12/11, the problem has not happened again. I will be taking the car to my dealer for diagnosis. *tr
Began noticing a small whine in the differential, more obvious at low speed. Level of noise increased rapidly. Called dealer for an appointment 10/22/12 saw them that day and they verified the problem. Called Jaguar for authorization. Notified by Jaguar on 10/23/12 full authorization to replace the entire differential. Dealer advises an anticipated two day delivery time for replacement. Note: completely satisfied that the dealer was helpful in such rapid authorization and turn around of replacement parts.my understanding is that usually a diff. 2009 Jaguar xf supercharged dashboard glare & visibility obstruction the leather dashboard on my 2009 Jaguar xf supercharged has begun to separate, ripple, & bubble. Resulting in a serious safety issue as the rippling (looks similar to waves) causes the sun to reflect / glare directly to the windshield & into the operators eyes. The result, under certain circumstance (high noon, very sunny days, dusk/dawn), is complete vision impairment. The problem stems from a defective glue / bonding agent applied during the manufacturing process. Once separation begins it progresses and spreads like cancer. The unacceptable repair estimate provided by Jaguar, $3,500.00 to $4,500.00, to replace the entire dash. Unnecessary as the defect is the bonding agent, not the hardware. Jaguar & official OEM forum
My leather dash board is bucking and pulling away from dash .I informed Jaguar about two years ago and they said since I didn't purchase it from there dealership it not there problem.

Recall alert: Jaguar xffacebooktwitter posted: december 9, 2008 Jaguar is recalling about 3,800 2009 xf sedans due to an electrical defect that could result in a number of problems. In a defect notice filed with the national highway traffic safety administration, Jaguar explains, "the instrument cluster speaker wires may fracture as a consequence of an overly aggressive tick-tock sound wave form, the volume of which is vehicle speed dependent." the xf makes the tick-tock sound when its turn signal is engaged - and at high speed, the sound may be loud enough to crack the rubber coating on speaker wires. "in the event of a speaker failure, the following audible notifications will cease to function - directional indicators, seat belt warning, 'lights on' warning, driver's door open wi

The most recent incident occurred as I was pulling out of my garage. I turned the car on, rotated the shifter to "d" (I had backed into the garage), and as I depressed the accelerator the speed increased to a higher speed then the pressure I was using to accelerate. I depressed the brake as hard as I could to slow the car down and was able to turn the car off in the process by pressing the "start" button. When I restarted the car the car drove normally. This happened once before as I was slowly pulling in to my garage. The accelerator engaged but I was able to avoid driving through my house.

Bubbling dashboard: this issue happen in the summer of 2016. Its unfair that the maker of Jaguar will not stand by this growing issue with their dashboard problem. I was told by the dealership, that they will not repair the dash (cost $4,000) and the Jaguar maker will not place this problem as a recall issue. When I'm not driving my Jaguar, its parked in the garage. I would like the maker of Jaguar, take responsibility of this problem and repair this problem to all Jaguar owners dashboards . *tr
