I had an inspection done and was told my Jeep is not safe to drive! The subframe and crossmember is trash and could cause an immediate accident at any given moment. I went to Chrysler dealership and they told me my warranty expired in june 2019 a few months ago. Please recall this so it can be fixed and lives are not at stake.

Just purchased the 2009 Jeep patriot for my son, it rained and it is leaking water in the dome lights and behind the accelerator. I am scared there will be electrical damage as well as mold and mildew. I have started looking up issues online and have found many people having the same issues. Shouldn't Jeep be held responsible???? *tr

This vehicle is total junk. I just replaced the under carriage that holds the engine up because it rusted out. This should not rust out for the lifetime of a vehicle. In addition, I have replaced the transmission, the alternator, the starter and the ball joints twice. The second time I replaced the ball joints was due to the under carriage rusting out. This vehicle is 5 years old and does not have 100,000 miles on it. I have repeatedly complained about this car to deaf ears even though the service tech at the dealership told me that he has replaced several alternators and under carriages on this vehicle, Chrysler Jeep does not acknowledge a defect. The under carriage is a safety hazard because if it breaks the driver will lose control of the steering. I firmly believe the Jeep patriot is m

After filling up the fuel tank the engine will stall while driving in traffic multiple times for several miles. This is a major issue since you lose acceleration, power steering and power brakes. This has caused several near misses while turning onto an interstate. This seems to affect 2007-2009 models mostly. The only fix is to replace the entire fuel tank because of a sensor located on top for around 1200 USB. Please see the numerous complaints below. I cannot put fuel into the vehicle without it continuously shutting the gas off after a few seconds. I have been told that the entire gas tank needs to be replaced. I found a technical service bulletin (tsb 14-001-09 rev.a) that addresses the exact same issue with other Chrysler automobiles, but the 2009 Jeep patriot is not included. My online research has uncovered other Jeep patriot owners who have experienced the exact same issue with no recourse but to pay out-of-pocket for a new fuel tank. I have been quoted $1400.00 to have the fuel tank replaced. I do not understand why Chrysler Jeep is not taking responsibility for this issue with the 2009 patriot. I would be interested in knowing how many Jeep patriot owners had to have their gas tanks replaced and if Chrysler Jeep has rep

Car shuts off after fueling. Is a common problem with other Jeep owners found on Google. My mechanic actually found the articles. Apparently it is a Rollover valve issue. Like others have suggested, not to fill the fuel tank full unless you want to pay over $1000 for a new gas tank. I don't want to drive in fear this car is going to keep shutting off. Why hasn't this been fixed when so many others have had the same issue?

While I was driving I could hear water swishing when making a turn, then hot water came pouring out from under the dashboard. White plains Chrysler said there was a kink in the hose from the air conditioning and water had collected there thus heating up and expanded and came out burning my foot while on the accelerator pedal. I called a tow truck. Excessive play in the steering. Emergency brake does not hold when park on a hill. *tr

Filling up with gas causes engine to stall. Auto garage says it's the check ball for the fuel tank allowing for overfilling of tank and than fuel getting into the vacuum system which then cause the Jeep to stall within 5 mins. The last time it was in the middle of in intersection with the kids in the car and almost getting hit by a driver not playing attention while my husband pushed the Jeep out of the way till it wanted to start again.

I was in motion and the trans temp light light up and my car began to stale in the middle of the highway. I was traveling alone and 4 hours away . This was very dangerous. I could have been hit by a passing truck. Luckily, I was in the left lane and was able to park on the shoulder. I had to search my safety manual to understand what was happening. I had to wait over 30 mins for the light to disengage and drive 55 on the highway. I took it to the shop and there was no signs. I did a google search and realized this is a common issue with the Jeep patriots. I have heard horror stories of families with little kids being stranded. Please provide some sort of resolution to this eventually costly issue.

I have a vehicle with a tire pressure monitoring system. Two tire valve stems are cracked and one has a slow leak. I have read of others with the same system where the valve stems simple break when hand washing the car and the tire goes flat in seconds. This is a serious hazard and could kill someone if it happened on the highway. It is outrageously expensive to replace these stems. *tr

Vehicle will stall with no/little warning. Stalls generally occur during wet and/or humid weather conditions, however does also occur during dry conditions. Stalls usually occur during idling while the vehicle is in gear (stopped at intersections or in traffic), but can also occur during initial acceleration from a stop. This issue has been occurring since early 2012 and is increasing in frequency. Chrysler has a related recall (08v528000, "power train:automatic transmission:control module (TCM, PCM)"), which seems to exactly describe this failure, however Chrysler claims that this specific vehicle is not included in the recall. *tr

There is a horrible leak from the front dome light fixture when driving in the rain. Water pours out from the fixture as you are driving. Pours. Seems to be a very common issue with Jeep patriots, and Jeep refuses to acknowledge that there is a problem. I've seen many complaints for this exact problem on many web sites about this specific issue, and the common theme is that Jeep doesn't know how to repair the problem, and won't acknowledge that this is a common problem with this model. *tr
