2009 Lincoln MKS owner complaints

While pulling out into traffic on a very busy four lane street, I turned left to get into the turn lane. All of a sudden the anti-lock brake light came on, the left front wheel jerked and grabbed and the accelerator would not let me get out of the on-coming lane for a few seconds. This could have ended a lot worst. This is the second time this has happened and the dealer says there is no bulletin for this problem! *tr

Multiple instances of front brakes grinding when braking. Purchased car as a demo in december 2009 with 7800 miles. Brakes were grinding within 30 days. Has been in the dealership multiple times. Going for fourth (?) repair as soon as parts arrive. Apparently there is an tsb issued by Ford/Lincoln.

The dealer was notified, test drove the vehicle but was unable to duplicate the failure. Ford motor company issued five tsb's regarding the brakes grinding. The brakes have been repaired five times. When the vehicle was repaired the noise did not recur for approximately 2000 miles. The failure continued to occur. The failure and current mileages were approximately 25,000.

He continued to smell the odor, and then noticed leakage on his garage floor. He looked under the vehicle and saw that there was a fluid leaking onto the exhaust pipe and smoking. He took the vehicle back to the dealership and was told that the dealer did not see anything wrong. Woltz & wind Ford (located at 2100 washington pike, carnegie, pa 15106, (866) 384-2889) was contacted and a diagnostic appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was not repaired. Tss/oss failure. While driving the vehicle on the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost power and I was unable to accelerate. I continued to press the accelerator and the vehicles RPM's increased, but the vehicle began to slow down. Then the transmission slammed into gear and made the vehicle jerk. The engine light, a service advanced trac message appeared, and the wrench light came on. I had the vehicle connected to a computer and gave the p7020 and p0722 fault code.

I purchased a mopar vehicle protection plan as my first extended plan from Chrysler for a pre-owned 2009 Lincoln mks model. I took the vehicle into a reputable Lincoln-Ford dealership to have a few issues resolved. These issues are: 1) bad smelling fumes entering the cabin of the vehicle when the air is on in any mode setting such as the windshield or base mode. The fumes smell so toxic that sometimes it results in nausea and headaches. You have to turn off the air and put down all the windows to air out all the fumes in the car. The smell comes and goes and usually happens when the car has been driven for over 20-30 minutes with the air or heat on. The dealer quickly found the issue and gave me a diagnosis. As I was drving the vehicle stopped in the middle of traffic with no warning or no warning lights on the dash. I had it towed to the nearest dealer where they informed me that the motor was blown at 86,000 miles after buying it at 66,000 miles from Lexus of Lincoln. The dealer informed me that they cold not do anything and now being stuck with a $6000 loan on a vehicle that is no longer available to drive.

As I was driving the gas pedal got locked as I was approaching a stop sign and the engine was revving high at 5000 RPM . I tried to turn off the engine but it will not respond , so I had to make a sudden right turn onto a less traveled street to avoid hitting other cars . I then disengaged the transmission to neutral to be able to shut the engine off .

Accelerator pedal jammed and engine was revving high at 5000 , I have press hard on the brake to slow down to avoid hitting other cars while trying to pull away same way like the previous incident that happens 7 months earlier. I then disengaged the transmission to neutral to be able to cut off the engine , wait for 10 and shake the gas pedal , before I cranked up and continued to go on .

The brakes keep failing on my 09 Lincoln mks. It has happen 4 times. Each time 4 different shops said the brake booster, abs system or master cylinder is bad. Have replaced each time and it will last 6 months and it the brakes will go bad again. A few times I was in traffic and couldn’t stop until the last minute luckily I haven’t ran into anyone yet . That’s a very scary situation. Yes I have took to a dealer and independent service centers. No it haven’t been inspected by manufacture no more than the dealership I got it from. No warnings or anything other than the brake paddle going all the way to then floor. I’ve also had problems with the sway bar. They have been replaced twice. I have been on many forums and even people I have ran into say their Lincoln is doing the same exact thing.

Two issues: the rear doors retain water after a storm and need to be drained by hand by holding the rubber flap at the bottom of the door away from the door itself. The locks randomly do not fully unlock when you use the key remote, the unlock button on the door, or even manually pulling on the lock knob. The lock knobs jump up and down and you have to try to open the door handle at the perfect time to catch the lock open in order to open the door. This problem seems to rotate through all 4 locks for random intervals and with random selection. It always seems to be on at least 2 locks at any given time. *tr

Steering wheel wont adjust and will not move and there is a loud clicking noise when you start vehicle.

The contact stated that the part that controlled the position of the drivers seat was broken, as a result the back part of the seat was unable to stay in the upright position. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that in order to remedy the failure they would install a metal plate in order to keep the seat together since the original plate was made of plastic. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 16,476 and current mileage was 26,000.
