Strong odor of gasoline fumes from car, especially after refueling. Fume smell goes away as tank level goes down. Brought car to fletcher jones motor cars in newport beach, ca, and they reported a high gas tank fuel leak, with gasoline building up in body behind rear driver's seat. This happens to be where my 8-year old son sits in the car - on top of explosive gasoline. Mercedes benz denies there is any problem with the e350 fuel tank, even though there are numerous reported problems. *tr
The inside cabin of my 2009 Mercedes benz e-350 consistently smells like gasoline. My garage always smells like gasoline is emitting from the vehicle.
I was changing lanes and went to accelerate when the vehicle completely lost power. The cause of the loss of power is a plastic(yes plastic) rod that opens the intake to initiate turbo boost. The fact that his rod is made of plastic that can break so easily when you step on the gas pedal is dangerous. Mercedes benz is supposed to make a quality car that is very costly and it is shameful that it is made so shoddy creating a false sense of safety and quality. I am lucky to be alive and now have to fix this junk. *tr

Gasoline odor is noticed when fuel is added to the fuel tank. It is very noticeable when car is parked in the garage for over 5 minutes after a recent fuel fill. The odor is very strong and has caused household members to have headaches. I am forced to park the car outside due to this odor. I also noticed gasoline spilling on the floor near the fuel tank area.

On thursday afternoon, october 1 the driver's seat of my 2009 e350w Mercedes benz burst into flames while I was driving. The heat and flames from the fire burned my shirt. My left side was also burned. Since I was traveling at 35 MPH, I was able to pull over safely, leap from the car and put out the fire. It was only by god's grace that I avoided a serious accident with life threatening injuries and possibly fatalities. I immediately called the beverly hills Mercedes benz service center to alert them of the problem. I had the car towed to the service center friday morning. A loaner car was not available so I rented a car from hertz. Today carlos muedano, service advisor, said I would be billed $1,500 for repairs. Our 2009 Mercedes e350 has only 39,574 miles on it. On october 26, 2016, the check engine light came on, the vehicle started shaking, and there was no power when accelerating. It was towed to the Mercedes dealership in arcadia, ca. We were told by the dealership that the cam adjuster was defective and would need to be replaced at a cost of $2,671. Because the car has been driven for less than 40,000 miles, we asked the dealership's service and parts director if Mercedes would stand behind the quality of their products and help us with the safety issue. He told us to call the Mercedes customer service at 800-222-0100. An "executive referral manager" named irene gave us a call and said that the offer from Mercedes was a 15% discount. Based on our previous experience, that is the s
