The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated, and the "Passenger Air Bag Off" warning message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with occupant sensor unit failure. The front passenger seat and the occupant sensor unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer, Nissan of Melbourne (440 S Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32901) and Mike Erdman Nissan (4640 FL-520, Cocoa, FL 32926) were made aware of the failure and informed the contact to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The failure mile

I can't get the airbag to stop flashing. I've been to an automotive shop twice. They reset it and then it begins flashing within days.
After removing a briefcase from the passenger front seat, the airbag light on the dashboard stays on (flashes). It never goes off when the car is stationary or in motion.
This is to report the constant flashing airbag warning signal on the panel of my vehicle. Now the signal has advanced to include a person with a balloon bag in a sitting position. I have just over 60,000 miles but the airbag light has been coming on but not going off now it's constant. I contacted Nissan service to report the problem and asked if it could be looked at as a recall item. I was told that it was not a recall problem and I will need to pay $128 for a diagnosis test. Of course I'm not paying for a problem that is known to be defected. I'm still waiting on a service manager to call me regarding their response. In reading all the other airbag problems someone needs to check into this serious matter that may cause harm. This occurs no matter where the vehicle is the light
I have the SRS light constantly on and was diagnosed that the occupant seat sensor is bad and need replacement. This device stop the passenger seat air bag from deploying even if there is an occupant, so they are at risk. Don't understand why users need to pay out of pocket for a safety device that should work. 2008 Nissan rogue was recalled, so why other year aren't if the problem is not solved.
Takata recall. After the crash the airbag went out but not inflated. I was on a highway and because of a water bump the vehicle moves and crash with the highway division throwing the vehicle to the emergency lane and stoped inmediately. After that I removed very easy the airbag and walk away from the vehicle .seatbelts locked.

I purchased vehicle new from dealer. At approx 83,000 miles I began to experience acceleration problems. I was not able to accelerate from a stop w/ pedal fully depressed. Extremely dangerous as I was almost in a car accident because car would not move. Took it to dealer and I was informed there was a recall on the transmission. Dealer replaced transmission. Now at 115,000 miles I experienced the same type of problem, except now the car shakes when I try to accelerate. I am unable to reverse or accelerate. I called the dealer and they informed me that the warranty on the transmission expires at 90,000 even though it was a replacement transmission. Nissan needs to take responsibility and fix this!!
The Nissan rogue had a CVT transmission replaced by the dealer after it stopped running on the highway in 2013 with only 70,000 miles on the vehicle. The transmission failed again, 2 years later, while driving on the highway again. Nissan failed to do anything to assist me the second time with this vehicle. The vehicle was in motion on the freeway both times. There have been many issues with the CVT transmission. *tr
3rd failure - same problem with 2009 Nissan rogue 4cyl w/CVT. Car loses power - when stepping on gas, car only creeps forward, accelerating very slowly as if it's not getting gas or as if you are starting off in a high gear. Attempts to manually downshift have no effect; shifting into neutral allows engine to rev freely. Last two incidents occurred with wife and 2 young children in car on busy road - very high safety risk as the problem occurred without warning, leaving the vehicle suddenly nearly powerless in traffic. First trip to dealer (problem was less severe/frequent first time) prompted service department to "fix" under an open transmission-related service campaign, the description of which did not fit the problem, but the car worked properly upon receipt. Problem returned a mo
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 Nissan rouge. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle would not respond. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.
During the cold weather, and it happens in every winter that the transmission was not shifting in the morning, it stayed at high RPM when gas panel was applied. It was very dangerous since my commute started with a highway. *tr
My car would not accelerate after driving on the highway (75 MPH) for more than 2 hours no matter how hard I stepped on the gas. It only happened when driving after 2 hours on the highway and did not have an issue again since I usually do not take long trips. This happened twice for my road trip to and from houston and dallas. A few months later, the car jerks when coming to a stop and accelerating from a stop. This was on regular roads about 40 MPH. Noticed many complaints online with the same issue and was told it's due to the transmission. I believe that this should be investigated as it is a safety hazard and unfair for car owners to pay for repair since many 2008 & 2009 rogue owners reported the same issue.

Car transmission makes whining sound. As you drive up an incline it gets worse. Car shuts down while driving. You are forced to pull over as you have no power. After 5 -10 minutes the car will start up again. Car was brought to Nissan and they were aware of the issue. They installed an external oil cooler as their CVT transmission has issues with overheating. This is most definitely a safety issue as the car just shuts down and apparently this is a known problem by Nissan. Nissan charged $1000 to fix the issue which should be a recalled safety issue with the car. There have been numerous complaints and situations where this has happened to other rogue owners. *js
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 Nissan rogue. While driving at an unknown speed, the steering wheel violently veered to the right on its own while the wheels remained straight. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the steering gear screw was loose and unble to be tightened. Drivers side door occasionally will not open. It can never be opened from outside, but there have been several times when I'm inside and go to open the door to get out, and it wont open. This is with engine turned off, car in park, and doors unlocked. In an emergency, such as car stalling on a railroad track/car sinking in a pond/engine on fire - I could be stuck inside!
Horn will only work when the wheels are turned to the right.

While exiting the interstate the car jarred to a stop. When we tried to accelerate at the green light the engine revved but would not move. When we pressed the accelerator all the way the transmission caught and the car struggled to go 5 miles an hour- jarring all the way. We barely made it to a parking lot before it died completely. *tr
While driving home from wa to ca I noticed while driving up the great vine my 2009 Nissan rogue started to decelerate from 70 MPH to 45-55 MPH, I had my foot pressed pedal to the metal with no acceleration. The vehicle just made it but while at another slight hill my vehicle did the same thing however this time it reduced to speed that posed a safety concern while on a highway. The speed dropped from 70 to about 30 in a matter of seconds. My infant son and wife were in the vehicle as it started to shut down I managed to get out of the highway but not before we had big rigs and other vehicles slow down or change lanes to avoid a collision. My vehicle would no longer move nor would for I had zero acceleration capabilities. Please recall this vehicle for it poses a safety concern that may cau

During ice and snowy conditions the outside door handle mechanism fails not allowing you to open the door from the outside. It has happened 3 times on the drivers door and once on the passenger door. To fix the problem you have to take apart the door and re hook up a cable. There seems to be a VIN number recall for this but it doesn't include my rogue. Took it to the dealer to have it fixed and they wanted to charge 600 dollars for their flawed mechanism on 1 side!!! Major pain to have to open the door from the passenger side or reach over the seat to open the door from the inside. Seems to be a safety issue that Nissan should fix when they know it is an issue with other Nissan vehicles. Not happy with Nissan or their service. The last time it occurred was 12/18/2015. But it has happened t
Under the cold weather, both of the front doors couldn't open from outside since the linkage of the door lock frozen and the cable was detached. The problem was fixed under a recall, however, it is now happening again in dec 2014. It is a big safety issue if you have to open doors from the back to get access. *tr
