Purchased this car from drive time 10/2016. Last two years oil consumption in between oil changes has reached putting 4 to 10 quarts of oil in this car. Recently had gaskets, radiator, coil and sparks changed (10/2019). I now as of this day (12/21/2019) have the same problem (engine failure). Gaskets has to be replaced again. I was driving on city street when the engine check light and the vsc came on. I have complained to every one including where I brought this vehicle from. It appears I have no rights regarding Toyota and drive time and their unwillingness to correct their mistakes. I know this cannot be the case. Who is holding these entities accountable?. This car has stopped and I do not feel safe driving it. I have put more money in this car regarding this engine and I sho

This car has oil consumption problem. It burn 1.5 quarts every 1000 mile. The oil has to be constantly changed. The was a recall for this car, but for Toyota to fix this issue; the vehicle has to meet certain requirement depending on the year of the car and the mileage. I noticed the problem in 2017 and I reached out to Toyota but they will not fix the issue because my vehicle does not meet the requirement.

My 2009 camry se (4 cylinder) did not burn oil, leak oil or otherwise have any issue with oil until I got my oil low oil light at approximatley 130,000 miles. I immediately called the local dealership that had been the only place that had changed the oil in my car. They told me that this was a known problem, and the sudden oil consumption could be fixed if it failed a simple test. The test is to change the oil in your camry, and between 1,000 and 1,300 miles later (not to exceed 1,300 miles) to dump an entire quart of oil in the crankcase. If the level was full, there was no further action to take. If it was lower than full, Toyota would tear into your engine and fix the issue at no cost to me. Not a very scientific test, but they performed this on my car at approximately 133,000 mile

With Toyota t-sb-0094-11, Toyota acknowledges that they have a problem with oil consumption in a handful of car models. They have set the bar high in order to get the repair covered, either under the normal or extended warranty. The problem gets worse as time goes on, so most cars will not experience issues until they are near or passed their warranty mileage. A series of oil consumption tests is required, but in my experience, they do not make sure the oil is not over full. I have had two tests thus far, and both times they have overfilled my oil by ~0.5 quarts. *tr

Toyota motor corp. Has issued service bulletin # t-sb-0094-11 dated aug. 11, 2011. This sb describes the diagnosis and repair of Toyota motor cars and trucks using the 2az-fe 4 cylinder engine. These engines have a defect resulting in excessive oil consumption. Excessive oil entering the combustion chamber does not burn with the fuel air mixture. We have an intermittent reoccurring issue when vehicle us driven before full warm-up (10 minutes or longer). The issue is when accelerating from a zero RPM (stop light) scenario, the vehicles rpms go up high, but the the car moves very slowly. As if it's not in sync with the gas pedal when being pressed. Transmission failure has been tested and not noted. Due to the intermittent nature of the problem, we have taken drastic measures, such as installing a remote start to bring vehicle to temperature before driving. This could be extremely dangerous if the cut out of the acceleration happens when merging onto a highway or causing rear impact to unsuspecting drivers. Car has been inspected at local dealer, where they were not able to replicate the issue, but I want this documented shal

The car was purchased new in 2008. I lived in ga from 2008-2012 and moved to tx in 2012. I did not experience dash issues while living in ga. I first noticed my dashboard was "sticky" when trying to remove a parking voucher from the dash area. The voucher was stuck to the dash and other areas of the dash were sticky to the touch. I tried removing pieces of the voucher and noticed the "stickiness" of the dashboard was coming off onto my hands. The stickiness has worsened to the point that whenever the dash is touched the sticky residue is transferred onto hands and fingerprints are left behind. The dashboard seems to be melting and touching the surface creates "gouges" in the dash. The area where the voucher was placed and removed is worn and has lost its texture. The increased stickiness m

Moved to tx in 2012 and have not had any previous starting issues before moving. Attempted to start the vehicle during my lunch break, engine turned over but was unable to start. Attempted to start the car again and the engine cranked and started with a hard "jolt" as if the gear shift was out of position. Several days later the temperature was warmer and the same problem occurred. Scheduled a appointment with my local Toyota dealership and was told all systems were normal and they could not determine the cause of the problem since they could not replicate starting issue. The starting issue occurs on relatively hot days, turning the key to "on" before starting does not help the problem, the second start attempt is usually a "hard" start such that it feels as if the engine is jerking.
