2010 Chevrolet HHR owner complaints

My power steering is going out randomly making it unsafe to drive, I see there's a recall for 2010 chevy hhr power steering which is exactly what's happening with my vehicle. When I turn it off and turn it back on it will work for a minute then click and go back out, yet when my vin was ran the recall doesn't show up for my car even though the recall states 2010 chevy hhr.. mine clearly has the same issue as the other recall yet you guys haven't put it on my vin so it can be fixed properly.

Slow speed made u turn power steering light came on hard to steer,took to a repair shop near by they came back and told me electric motor needs replaced, vehicle only has 45500 miles on it.. *tr

When the brakes were applied, the pedal pulsated and the electric power steering warning indicator illuminated. Driving on interstate and the steering warning light came on, the steering became almost impossible to manage. Pulled off at next exit thinking I would check the fluid level. Couldn't locate the fluid reservoir and read the manual to find out that the power steering is electrically controlled. Came close to losing control of the vehicle at high speeds. *tr

Electronic power steering assist went out twice over the past weekend. The first time in a parking structure while trying to turn into a tight spot. Later will driving at approximately 35 miles per hour. Power steering returned to normal function each time after turning off the ignition. Nobody was hurt in either event, but with snow coming to the midwest I fear what might have happened on a snow-covered road. I understand this is a common issue and that gm refuses to recognize this issue in the united states for this make and model despite a recall in canada. *tr

2010 Chevrolet hhr with 19,060 miles. Ignition was stuck in on position with engine running. Drove to dealership and the ignition assembly was replaced. I was out of the dealership within one hour and the repair was covered under warranty. *tr

On going issue of brake lights intermittently coming on without touching brake pedal. First noticed something wrong because cruise control wouldn't activate. Found problem at night when I could see the glow from my brake lights on the top inside edge of my rear hatch. Replacing brake switch above pedal did not fix problem. Sounds kind of funny, but I got brake lights to go off while setting in driveway and pounding my center console out of frustration. Internet search found other gm vehicles with similar problems and frustrated owners that took vehicles to dealerships that didn't fix their problem. Issue appears to be circuit board related with circuit boards located on passenger side lower center console. A sharp rap with the palm of my hand in that area will always get the brake ligh

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed, but the technician could not find a failure. The vehicle was not repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

Rear door locking system failure. Door opened suddenly and without warning while driving endangering occupants. The door locking mechanism will not allow the door to remain secure and closed when shut. Online search revealed many similar incidents occurring for other drivers.

Gas line rusted and leaking. Gas everywhere, strong odor, highly flammable. Under inspection at the Chevy dealer in Highland Twp. No warning lights were on.

Found gas dripping under car near rear drivers side wheel area. Inspection found rusted gas lines near exhaust pipe area. Rust was most severe where factory heat insulation was wrapped around lines near exhaust area. Insulation appeared to have let debris collect around gas lines. Internet search found several other hhr owners with similar issues.

I was going 25 MPH when I crashed causing over 5,000 dollars worth of auto and property damage in addition to the medical bills which I have not received in full yet. The car malfunctioned while I was driving and I was not able to control it. I received the recall information in the mail, but the car had not been repaired. Also, the airbags did not deploy when the crash happened. I suffered a concussion due to the accident. I was the only person injured. *js

Air bag warning light constantly coming on, had it fixed in october 2012, after arguing with the dealer that it should be covered under the warranty. 2 months later the light is back on. *tr ## VIN failed ##

I got my car in 2011 took my car into shop because smog is not passing now I was told need new motor after 5yrs at 5000.00
