I was at a gas station and positioning my vehicle for fueling. The transmission shift lever got stuck and I couldn't move it to anywhere but neutral. During this time the ESC and downhill brake control lights were on. Then I switched off the engine and restarted it, the problem seem to go off. Now it recurs very often at least 5 times a day even at low speeds ~25 MPH on a dry road. *tr

Purchased my 2010 Hyundai tucson in may 2010. I have had three instances of transmission lockup at 50 MPH. As described by others it feels like you hit something in the road. The car lurches and there is a loud noise. I am very afraid to drive this car, it feels like I will lose control of it one of these times when it happens. The dealership is currently replacing the transmission as per direction from Hyundai technical assistance. Not sure if this will fix the problem or just delay it. The vehicle has 8300 miles, it started failing around 6000 miles. Personally, I don't want this vehicle back and feel that an investigation should take place, this is definitely a safety hazard. These vehicles are having transmission failures before the first oil change! *tr

Updated 02/21/17*lj consumer states when driving interm happens on city driving feels like transmission goes into neutral and just revs and or when going around turns. Updated 7/10/18*jb *tr

I have had my Hyundai tucson for about 5 months, about two months after owning the car the car made a loud clunk and lurched forward, like I got hit from behind or like I hit an animal. I pulled over to see if I did but nothing was there. This happened about three times before I took it to the dealer. They checked it and said everything checked out fine. They reset the transmission, they told me the transmission learns your patterns and something might have gotten confused. Its been about 2 months now since they "fixed" the problem but this morning it happened again and it slammed so hard it made my son and I lurch forward and the seatbelts locked. It is very scary when it happens. I have an appt. This week to get it serviced again, we will see what they say this time. I am very concerned a

When driving and occasionally hit a bump the icon (slippery) appears on the dash and later when you stop to back up to park the gears get stuck and you can't move it to the gear to backup. Since this car has stick shift and automatic driving features you have to keep shifting the years back and forth until it jumps back into reverse. This happens to frequently.

The car dies, unknown, mechanics don't know! It's in the wires somewhere, the backup camera doesn't work, the radio doesn't work! Even with the the fuse in and everything working the backup camera still doesn't work, and as soon as you shut the car off it doesn't start up again! Nothing was replaced it's still everything from the factory so you tell me what's wrong!!

Sometimes when my car is parked in my garage all of the doors lock without me using the fob.I did have the dealer look at this issue, but they were not able to recreate my issue.so when I get my oil change I make sure the driver's side window is down,so the car doesn't lock on the mechanic with the keys inside.I also feel that my car doesn't get enough miles to the gallon and it should of been included in the last recall. *tr

Every morning the car has to have a jump! We bought a battery! That didn't help! We took it to the shop, they couldn't figure it out but said it was something to do with the electrical but didn't know what, so we started digging on our own and you have to take the fuse out to the radio for the car to start! So after spending ALL that money that's what it is, we can't listen to music to start our every morning but now it is getting worse, something else is draining the battery! And no one knows what!

I purchase this vehicle on october 3,2014, two weeks later the check engine light came on. Took it to the Hyundai dealer three times within that month for the same problem in which each time they were able to solve this issue (so we thought). On december 11,2014 a lil over two months later, the check engine light is now on again? Taking the vehicle back to dealer today for check engine light and also to check front suspension, the drive on this vehicle has always felt very unstable and unsafe to me and with it being the winter months my safety as well as others is a must! Very unsatisfied owner of the 2010 Hyundai tucson, have not as of yet gotten a secure or comfortable drive out of this vehicle since purchase, far more the worst vehicle I have ever owned. *tr

I heard a clunk upon turning right, exiting a parking lot. The rear end of the car started to sway. Fearing a blown tire, I pulled off the road, only to find the left rear wheel pitched at a rather unhealthy angle. After towing the car to my local repair shop it was discovered that the rear cross member was rusted out. Apparently this is a fairly common occurrence in certain Hyundai models. Although out of warranty, it seems like Hyundai should be willing to address this issue of rust and stand by their vehicles.

The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the Engine Monitoring Logic had failed and an unknown repair needed to be completed. The dealer sent a diagnostic report to the manufacturer who informed the dealer that they would cover half of the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact contacted the manufacturer but was unable to speak to a live agent. The failure mileage was approximately 168,000.

I was just driving normal speed and my airbag light came on and stayed on. I went to the dealership and informed me my driver side airbag clock spring is faulty. They are saying it isn't under my warranty, when I bought the vehicle brand new in 2010 I was told I had a bumper to bumper warranty for the first 10 years or 100,000 miles whichever came first. Why should I have to pay for the dx testing and the clock spring and installation for a part that is out of my control of being faulty, that isn't fair and the warranty you are saying is very misleading. *tr

The vehicle would not go into park from drive when stopped to park. I drove to another parking spot and still would not go into park. The car finally shut down. When attempting to restart, which unable to do the brake pedal was frozen and unable to push down. Luckily I was in a parking lot because if it had stalled on the highway I could of created a accident. The car just froze. *tr
