Took care of the car and my motor has recently gone out. Lost power going up hill and had a bad ticking noise I pulled off an exit and it sounded like something broke in the motor. Very disappointed.

The ac condenser froze up therefore I could not start vehicle . It was snowing and freezing and I was stranded for 2 hours. The ac should not be going bad on a 2010 vehicle . I read many reports on this particular problem in the Kia fortes all years. Well someone could get hurt when there vehicle stops running in the middle of a busy highway!!! This is a problem!!! Mechanic told me I could of been driving fast and this could of happened!! Someone is going to get hurt!! *tr
This engine has a widespread problem of ticking coming from the top part of the engine, and issues with oil including burning oil. I personally have experienced both despite many efforts to try to remedy the problem. Many other drivers of the same car have had these same issues which have LED to scoring in the cylinders and complete engine failure. I myself am also very close to engine failure. Many people including myself believe that there is an underlying issue(s) causing these problems in the theta ii engines. Many people in canada have had their engine replaced for the same problems.
Engine has been acting up. Knocking. Tapping. Less power. MPG in the 20s. Get gas 127000 miles on it. Has been well maintained. Overall defective engine. I hope they recall this engine soon before lots of people get hurt when their engine craps out on them doing 70 on the freeway.
Engine is knocking very loudly. Concerned it is going to fail while driving it and cause an accident. I have noticed many other people have this issue with this 2.0 engine Kia has.

While coasting into a parking spot my car lurched forward at a high rate of speed into a retaining wall. Kia is denying any responsibility. I am currently awaiting word from my body shop as to if the car will be totaled or not. If it is fixable I am very frightened to continue driving it. I am seeing numerous complaints about this issue and nothing is being done about it.
The air bag is on for over 3 years and not included in the recall. This is a fearful safety issue. The serpentine belt has been replaced three times a year.

Vehicle was slowly losing pressure in all four tires for about one week prior to incident. Failure of driver's front tire occurred while driving to service station approximately eight miles after inspection of pressure. Service inspection after the incident found that all four sensors were leaking. Tires had less then three thousand miles of wear at the time of the incident. *tr
Owned car for 1 day on day 2 driving down road and tire blows out. Garage refused to warranty tire w/o completely inspecting tire. *tr

While driving from my kids pediatrician office. I noticed the traction control stayed off and would not turn on. That affected my brake lights. I noticed that same part is put as a recall for the sorento and soul but not for the forte. If it is the same recall the forte should be included. For the vehicle being only two years old it should be covered as a recall and due to the safety impact that it may cause rear end collision due to the driver not noticing that the TCS affects the brake lights. *tr

powertrain 2 complaints shown
While the vehicle was operating the engine had a noticeable amount of power reduction and there were multiple knocking sounds occurring simultaneously. The vehicle was being operated in the right-most furthest lane of a busy freeway in the middle of traffic and at freeway speeds of approximately 65 mph. The issue seemed to originate from the engine causing engine malfunction without engine light indication. There was no engine light prior, during, or post-incident. The vehicle has been professionally inspected, but not thoroughly diagnosed. Altogether, the motor has had a major unidentifiable malfunction and now I have no transportation from the once-reliable vehicle I was using.
Vehicle failed to start. Had vehicle towed to garage who stated that it was a problem with timing chain and should be covered under warranty. Had vehicle re-towed to dealership who stated that it was a bad timing chain and that it was not covered under warranty. This is not a belt, but a chain. The timing chain should be covered under the powertrain warranty. It's a necessary part for the powertrain to function properly. At the very least, the power train warranty should have covered this. Ten days to repair - $1200 out of pocket because it is not an easy replacement.

Driver’s seatbelt buckle will no longer accept the seatbelt. The sensor for the seatbelt thinks the seatbelt is buckled as well.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Kia forte. The contact was pulled over by the police because the passenger side brake bulb failed, was not properly secured within the holster, and had fallen into the trunk. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the stop lamp switch had failed and needed to be replaced. The independent mechanic made the contact aware that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v114000 (service brakes, exterior lighting). The vehicle was repaired, but the brake light failed and the vehicle would not maneuver from the park position. A tow company was called, but the vehicle was not towed. The tow driver showed the contact a trick to get the vehicle to move out of the park position. The contact then notified universal Kia hicko
