After parking my car , turned ignition off, did some work for 45 minutes I came back attempting to start the car. The car won’t start, I am not hearing any of the normal sound that usually takes place when I place the key in ignition. Message on dashboard telling me to remove the key. Car will not start. After checking battery and calling mechanic they tell me the my steering wheel lock is bad. The ESL went bad out of nowhere. Car won’t start, steering wheel is locked and the only way to fix it is to take it Mercedes’ dealer and pay over $2000. I search on google and found out that this is a common issue with my 2010 C300. This is a manufacturing defect and Mercedes should recall it and pay for repair. In my case I parked my car in my garage, imagine if I was traveling on highway way and t
My 2010 Mercedes c300 has a faulty electronic steering lock fail-which left me stranded sitting in the park lot about 30 minutes from home. Car would not start I tried to start my car and nothing happens. When I turn the key to on nothing lights up, no crank, no clicks, no windows and no radio. I would lock and unlock with the remote but that was about it. I tried jumping and I tried both keys still nothing happens when I turned the key. Steering wheel was locked and gear stuck in park. Had to have it towed to the mb dealership to have the steering lock and key replaced and ending costing $1,124.00. I have read that this has happened to a whole of mb's and should be a recall. I mean really we pay to have a quality car and so far my mb has had a stinky ac that mb could never figure out how
electrical 4 complaints shown
Similar to other complaints that have been filed against Mercedes, it seems as though the electrical connection to my rear right light (brake light, running light, turn signal, etc.) has melted and is no longer operational. The entire light is out and I get warning messages on the dash about the problem. It looks like this is the same problem that everyone else with the same make/model as me are having. Hopefully Mercedes recognizes the scale of this flaw in their engineering and sends out a recall sooner than later. *tr
During maintenance of vehicle, completely bare wires were discovered. While researching replacement options, I became aware that this is a known issue ignored by the manufacturer and that no cost effective solution exists. This is a car my son has recently purchased on his own and I am assisting in the maintenance of this "German Engineering Turd" You would have thought they learned a lesson on arrogance from the past.
Rear driver side lights not functioning. Found brown wire meeting to circuit board with heat damage to wire and circuitboard at connection. Contact the dealer. Dealers stated recall was done on our vehicle. However this appears to have happened again. Don't know if this happened while the vehicle was in motion. Noticed warning lights indicating bad connection to brake lights and turn signals driver side rear.
Went into work and came back out to my car not starting. Battery just recently replaced within the past 6 months. Had the battery charged and tried to do a jump and still nothing. Had to get my car towed to the auto shop only to find out I have a failed eis, meaning my electronically ignition system has failed and its going to cost me 1000 to fix. My car is out of warranty but I find this a major inconvenience. This is supposed to be a reliable car the reason I chose to get this car and something like the ignition has failed. I wish there was something that mbusa could do to pay for a majority of the issue or even do a reimbursement. This can be a safety issue as well, I always think what if I was out of town or what if I had a emergency and because of this glitch I simply have no car and

I am writing you regarding a serious and potential life threatening safety hazard that has been ignored by Mercedes-benz. Clearly this is not an isolated problem as I have found this issue has plagued many other Mercedes drivers on the internet. On 1 october 2017, the inside passenger door handle malfunctioned and would not open the door. (see attached photo). The passenger door can now only be opened from the outside. When taken to the local Mercedes of arrowhead dealer in peoria, az, it was determined that the entire door panel must be replaced, needs to be manufactured and would not be available until nov 2017, then dec 2017 and now feb 2018. The inability to open the passenger door presents a grave safety hazard because if the car is in a accident where the driver door is disabled

My brake line is corroded and needs replacing at a cost of $3500.00. I have an extended warranty on the rear subframe due to a recall; however, Mercedes will not cover this costly repair. I was informed by service advisor that I could still drive car with extra caution, as there are no leaks.
