2010 Nissan Armada owner complaints

Rear console fell while driving, on freeway. Completely fell from ceiling only being attached by wiring. Very dangerous, just fortunate that no one was in the rear seats second and third row.

Extremely loud knocking when HVAC door opens and closes to accommodate the interior temperature changes. While moving or while parked. Whenever the engine is running.

Driving on slightly wet road. Started sprinkling for about five minutes. It was driving fine then on the road to my house in the city. It's windy and I was going maybe 10-15 miles an hour and it started spitting out like I was in snow or sleet I almost lost control. So I put I stopped and then I barely press on the gas it would start swerving again. Even at less than 5 miles an hour. I had to go super slow how there was like there was no traction at all or no steering control. No lights came on or anything. Prior to that it was driving perfectly fine. I want to say it kind of felt like the left side had no traction for some reason but I don't know. It just felt weird like I was driving a seadoo

I had a sudden power lose with no warning while traveling down interstate at 70mph in "fast lane". I had no power and steering the vehicle to safety was a serious challenge. We were almost hit several time as I negotiated my way to the shoulder of the Interstate. I was scary and after almost being struck by passing vehicles, my wife actually got sick to her stomach. After avoiding accident's to pull off shoulder of the road I was not able to get the vehicle started. Upon being towed home I discovered the vehicle ran out of gas, although the gas gauge was showing 1/4 of tank. I went online and found there was a recall for Nissan Armada, 2005-2009 dated 3/18/2010 for the same exact issue (see NHTSA # 10V-074). I was making a left turn at a stop light when the complete ceiling console (lights, rear climate control button, sun roof buttons) fell out of ceiling of vehicle. I attempted to catch with one hand while controlling vehicle with other hand. Upon pulling over and parking vehicle, I found that some how the plastic had broken on both screws/bolts that was holding it in place. Not sure what could have caused this but the dropping of the unit completely startled me while driving.

The overhead console leading from the second to third row is starting to drop in my vehicle. This needs to be recalled and replaced as with children in the back rows, this could cause harm.

You can lock the lift gate but it will not unlock. You have to climb over seats and use emergency unlock. *tr

I have concerns with Nissan vehicles losing power and dying while the vehicle is moving. When consumers take the vehicles in for diagnosis, the computer diagnostics cannot locate the problem. Nissan service dept. Staff give unacceptable responses such as "we couldn't duplicate the problem." all they do is test drive the vehicles but the problem is not easily duplicated as it occurs randomly. I did a simple search on the Nissan forums online and quickly discovered it is related to the intelligent power distribution module ("ipdm"). Sure enough, they replaced the ipdm at my request and no further problems. This is a serious problem with Nissan vehicles yet there seems to be no past or current recalls related to this. This vehicles fuel control module has caused my children and me safety to put at risk by vehicle breaking down in the middle of traffic and not capable of starting vehicle back up. thie has been confirmed from trusted mechanic.

I bought my vehicle in 2010 Brand New I did not have the vehicle less the 5 years when the volume on the sterring wheel stopped working , then my horn stopped working and someone backen into me, my cruise control does not work sometimes the wheel locks on me turning then the airbag light Pop on and they wanted to charge me hundreds of dollars to fix to and sometimes when I Start the vehicle it will not turn over I have to pull the keyout and try it that way

After stopping her vehicle she saw that the overhead console that controls the temperature and plays dvd's had fallen with all the wires attached. The contact also stated that the console was approximately 3' long and 1' wide. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact feels as though if there were someone seating in the second and third row of the vehicle they would have been severely injured. The failure and current mileage was approximately 25,000.

The contact pulled the vehicle over and attempted to repair the vehicle, but was unsuccessful. The contact took the vehicle to gwatney Buick GMC (5700 landers rd, north little rock, ar 72117, (501) 945-4444) and received a repair estimate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 156,000.

I just purchased the vehicle with the airbag alert on, as well as the seatbelt alert. It seems there’s no recall for this vehicle. Please advise that you should reconsider the limited recalls and include the 2010 Armanda with the “platinum” package.

Priority Nissan Mazda sold a 2010 Nissan armada with an incorrect occupant classification system (ocs) electronic control unit (ECU) and refused to repair the safety defect. The incorrect ECU and seat combination may misclassify the front passenger seat occupant and will cause the airbag to malfunction during a crash. If the front passenger seat occupant is misclassified, the air bag may deploy incorrectly in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury. According to priority Nissan Mazda of vienna va, the dealership found codes stored b1017 ocs control - needs passenger seat assembly to replace ocs unit. Nissan has previous safety recalls for the same type of issue with all other years and models. I am afraid to drive this vehicle with my children as it is unsafe.

Locking of brakes, gas pedal, and steering wheel while driving in rush hour traffic.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Nissan armada. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, the steering wheel seized with the illumination of the power steering warning light. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.

We bought this Armada used about two years ago and it had about 85,000 miles on it then. On Monday August 26th 2024 my wife came home and as she pulled in to park the brake pedal went to the floor. The passenger side front steer tire inside was covered in brake fluid. I pulled it in to our garage and removed the tire and had her pump the brake pedal to find the fluid loss spot. Upon inspection I discovered the Steer tire had rubbed through the brake hose causing brake fluid loss. I replaced the hose and inspected the driver side to discover it was almost rubbed through to the cords inside the hose. It will be replaced too. I have saved the passenger side hose and will save the driver hose after I replace it. My pictures are of the passenger side front brake hose.

Letter from senator schumer on behalf of constituent re 2010 Nissan armada se active recall. *smd the consumer stated when he/she put the vehicle in reverse, the transmission changed hard, then the vdc off, brake, and slip lights illuminated. When the consumer put the vehicle in drive, and accelerated, the vehicle took off with more torque than it normally did. Upon trying to stop, the brakes went spongy, and came to a smooth stop, with the brake pedal all the way to the floor. *jb

Radiator failed and lost all coolant. Engine overheated causing major engine damage. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Nissan armada. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked the vehicle was on and the transmission shifted out of gear independently. The vehicle then crashed into another parked vehicle while the gear shift lever was stuck in the park position. When the passenger exit the front passenger's side they were struck by the front door as the vehicle rolled. The passenger sustained injuries to the shoulder and left knee. The rear driver's side bumper exhibited two scratches and a small dent. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where it was currently being diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.
