Takata recall - received a letter from Toyota in june 2016 stating that my front, passenger airbag was recalled due to "the propellant in these inflators may degrade after prolonged exposure to high absolute humidity and fluctuating high temperatures. Degraded propellant can cause inflator rupture during airbag deployment. In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, striking the vehicle occupants, and result in serious injury or death." it has been 6 months and I have contacted Toyota to find out what the hold up is and if there is an anticipated date for when I will have my air bag replaced. They stated that the reason is because they have a high number of vehicles and they are working on the oldest vehicles first and then moving up

Takata inflator - it has been six months since my vehicle airbag was recalled and I have been unable to drive with a passenger. Toyota cannot provide a time frame for when my vehicle will be repaired and will only provide a loaner vehicle if I leave my vehicle at the dealership. The dealership will not be liable for any damage done while they possess my vehicle.

I lost use of my 4runner since august 2016. I called Toyota several times and last talked to randall (888-270-9371 Toyota case number 161-130-2456) on nov 30, 2016. Randall does not have an estimated time to fix my vehicle. I asked for number of airbag fixed by Toyota in california in each of the past 3 months and the total number of outstanding Toyota with airbag recall issue. Randal cited those info is not available to the public. I asked if Toyota will buy my 4runner back at bluebook. Randall said Toyota does not buy vehicles that are under recall. There are 34 million vehicles under airbag recall, the production of replacement airbags is 1 million per month. Without better info from Toyota, it may take up to 3 years fix my 4runner. Loaners are for short term remedie
Takata recall. I have received notification of the fact that the airbag in my vehicle is under a recall and have been asked not to use the vehicle until the faulty device has been replaced. I don't have another vehicle so I am forced to use my vehicle. The manufacturer has not contacted me with any remedy. In the mean time I am carefully driving my vehicle. I would like to know what the timetable of a replacement is or at least be kept updated of the manufacturers schedule. *tr
Takata recall. I have been trying for almost a year without success to have my recalled airbags replaced. I have been working with my local Toyota dealer, kendall a Toyota of anchorage, alaska and have been told repeatedly they are waiting on an install kit. Meanwhile, my vehicle, (who spent the better part of its life in hot, humid texas, making the inflators even more unstable) remains unsafe for my family. Please assist me in resolving this issue.

Car keeps running out of gas while driving, due to faulty readings on the gas gauge and electronic readout. I have been driving this car for 11 years and never ran out of gas until running out 3 times in the past 2 months. Today was the 3rd occurrence, gas gauge showed over 1/4 tank and 85 miles to go until empty. Previous incident was similar with 1/4 tank and showing 65 miles to go. (Pictures attached). The miles to go reading seems to be increasing with each incident (1st incident showed 25 miles, second incident 65 miles, then 85 miles today). No low fuel indicator light or warning has appeared on ANY of these 3 occasions. This is a very dangerous situation potentially causing loss of life as drivers have SECONDS to navigate their vehicle off the highway, while quickly lo
Since I bought this Toyota 4runner I've had nothing but problems with brakes not working right the front end shimmies at certain speeds.. I took it back to the dealer called tri county Toyota in limerick pa. They told me it's road characteristics.. Brought it back 3 or 4 times.. Never fixed this annoying problem.. They even got a so called expert tech from Toyota to see what the problem was .. Never fixed..I had bought new custom wheels and tires.. The guy who put my new wheels on said there is something wrong.. Showed me the brakes 1 pad was good the other was very thin.. I brought it back to the dealer explained about the brakes.. My vehicle is the subject of a recall by the manufacturer ( your # 14v604 ) for more than a year now and I have heard nothing from Toyota. I filed a complaint with your office several weeks ago and have heard nothing. How can a manufacturer be allowed to take more one year to propose a remedy to defect that involves the safety of the vehicle?

I have brakes hydraulic problem on my 2010 4runner, I brought to dealer 3 times in the past but they insisted there was no issues with the brake system. The brake paddle when depressed had hissing sound, seemed like there was air leaks somewhere..when pressed down the brake paddle, the vehicle would accelerate a bit then the brakes hydraulic applied. It is very scary when I was on freeway with 70-80 MPH. If you have resolve the problem.. With the engine turns off, I still hear the hissing sound every single time I step on the brake pedal. And the service adviser in dealer said its normal??? And the brakes took couple milliseconds to response when brake pedal compress??? *tr

While driving along at slower speeds the engine seems to quit for about 5sec then it comes on again. This is a dangerous condition. This could happen anytime.

New LED tail lights and brake lights are too bright. They are so bright they cause eye pain and distraction on clear nights. They may be a safety feature on an open road on a dark and rainy night, but in bumper to bumper driving on a clear night they are dangerous distraction. *tr

Periodically seemed stiff when shifting into drive, then the "4 lo" light starts flashing. I tried putting the range selector in 4 lo which resolved the flashing light a few times. Took the vehicle to Toyota and they could find nothing wrong because there were no codes. The last time I it happened, it stuck in 4 lo and the check engine light came on. Not a good situation to be far from home with a vehicle stuck in 4 lo. I took it to a transmission specialist. They could find nothing wrong and said the code indicated a "range problem" with the transmission and they reset the codes. Now the 4 lo light is flashing again, trac off and check engine lights are on. Going back to Toyota. Hope they can figure out what the problem is.

The vehicle stability control is much too sensitive. As a turn is taken at speed the vehicle electronics take over and change the trajectory. For example, if turning on a curve to the right, if it senses a tire rotation discrepancy it steers the vehicle into oncoming traffic. This is reproducible demonstrating that this is the way that it is designed and not an unusual occurrence. Changing tires helps somewhat but does not mitigate it entirely. I have brought the vehicle in many times to Toyota under warranty and nothing is found and nothing is done to improve it. Online help directly with Toyota likewise has not lead to any improvement. This is a safety issue for many reasons including directing the vehicle into traffic and it is very disconcerting to suddenly have the vehicle take
