Jetta hpfp. In early 2013 my jetta tdi had to have the fuel pump replaced due to a defect in the materials. The issue has just happened again, same symptoms. Only this time Volkswagen is claiming the fuel pump failed due to contiminated fuel. My insurance company denies that fact and is pointing the finger at vw for a faulty fuel pump. The repair is upwards of $5000 and Volkswagen is not offering to cover it. My car is now sitting in disassembled state at the dealership while I am paying for a rental car and my insurance company and vw play a ping-pong match of passing the blame. *js

Driving at about 40 MPH with about 1/4 tank of gas when car started to sputter and run rough. The glow plug indicator light began flashing and I pulled into a nearby parking lot where I shut the car off. I restarted the car and pulled out of the parking lot but car immediately began to run rough and lose power again so I pulled into a gas station lot where the car refused to restart. Called a tow truck and got car towed to autobarn in countryside (where I bought the car). Tried to restart car again at dealership and noticed the fuel gage was reading "empty", meaning fuel had leaked out since the car died. Dealer called me the next day saying my high pressure fuel pump had failed and my entire fuel system from the gas tank on up to the injectors had to be replaced. Was covered under w

Accelerating at 40mph car began to run rough and lose power. Engine glow plug light began to flash. Car stalled and could not be restarted. Car towed to hiley volkwagen in arlington texas. Service department states that high pressure fuel pump disintegrated and that metal particles were found in the fuel lines. Will be rebuilding the fuel system and replacing the fuel tank. *tr

Vehicle quit on a main street going up a bridge rise. Had he car taken to the dealer where we purchased from. Service manager said there was a large amount of metal found in the filter element. They where sending fuel samples to vw for analysis. Three days later they gave me a rental car for 10 days. They are replacing everything in the fuel system, including the tank. *tr

Engine sputtered and quit while driving on the interstate at normal speed. Was able to coast to a stop safely due to proximity of exit ramp. Would not restart. Vehicle towed to Volkswagen dealership where they claimed fuel contamination, resulting in failure of the high pressure fuel pump. Repairs were not covered by warranty because they claimed fuel contamination was the cause. I have the fuel receipt from the previous fill-up where it shows bp diesel was used. I have complete service records and maintain the vehicle in perfect condition. This is a serious problem with the design of Volkswagen's fuel pump. *tr

I am unable to carry rear passengers (adults or kids) as the rear door do not operate consistently.I consider this a major safety concern. Dealer wants a large amount of money to replace two rear wiring harness as well as the electronic door actuators. This seems to be improper lack in the wiring harness to the rear doors. I have never had so many electrical problems with a vehicle is short a period of time. This really needs to be address so that nobody is injured form a door that will not open from the outside or inside, inconstantly. I will hold both NHTSA as well as vw if a tragic event does unfortunately does occur. This item has been posted numerous time in ve formus. My jetta tdi has 156k miles, and it makes no difference to weather or time of day. This is a persistent problem that

Out of the blue the premium 8 touch screen radio stopped working, no warning or intermittent problems, prior to the failure. I had a mechanic check the radio fuses and nothing was blown or needed repair. Everything was normal. This problem has occurred multiple times on vw forums. Even though this a major inconvenience it is still component, much like windshield wipers that ou just expect to work. Time in the vw forums. This needs to be placed/fixed. I never have had a radio fail in any previous car. I am really regreting my purchase of this sub-par, poorly enginered vehical.

While driving the touchscreen radio turned off and will no longer turn back on. My phone remained connected to the blue tooth system, however, I was unable to use this function since it goes through the radio and car speakers. The next day, while driving in the rain, my wipers stopped working as well. These are major safety issues (the lack of handsfree for someone that commutes every day as well as a visibility issue when unable to use wipers in rain). *tr

I am having a similar issue with my vehicle as in NHTSA id numbers 10660948, 10664166, 10662515 and 10633219. All four of my vehicle's door locking mechanisms have failed. As a result, the doors cannot be opened from the outside of the vehicle. This could be a safety issue in the event of an accident or the need to quickly evacuate a passenger from the vehicle. *tr

Door locks failed and had to be replaced. Battery drain when not used for two weeks, requiring jump start (replaced battery one year ago). Car would not start (battery wouldn't even turn over, yes the same new battery) towed to dealer who said they replaced some fuses. Recently, radio will not power on. Dealer states the radio failed, fuses fine. I have seen 100s of reports of failed radios and door locks in the 2010 jetta. There must be a faulty electrical system in this vehicle. Cars that are 5 years old (I have seen reports of this happening when the car is only 3 years old) are not supposed to have these problems. All of these problems have occurred in the past year, mileage between 100-110k.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen jetta. The vehicle hesitates and shudders when it is cold. Also when cold, the vehicle will not accelerate over 35 MPH. The vehicle will down-shift into neutral when attempting to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer at least four times. At the last inspection, the computer was reprogrammed. After the repair the transmission did not operate properly. A letter was sent to the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 1,600.

I have a 2010 us version Volkswagen jetta tdi with the dsg transmission. The car has around 4500 miles on the odometer and this problem has been with the car since day #1. The problem is manifested as a lurching, and erratic shifting of the transmission in gears 1 to 2 as well as from a stop. Even though I drive with a soft touch, I can rarely get a smooth start-off because of the unpredictable shifting of the transmission. Especially noticeable in stop & go driving, I am concerned that this phenomena may cause an accident while commuting to/from work. *tr

The key would not turn in the ignition switch, and I was unable to turn the car off. The car was stopped and in park. I had to bring the car to the dealer and they told me that my only option to fix the problem was to replace the ignition component.

New 2010 jetta se without rain sensor windshield wipers. The wiper speed decreases with the speed of the engine and does not consistently increase when the engine speed increases. When I slowed as I approached a yield sign in a driving rain, my windshield wipers slowed so much that I was unable to see out the windshield. As I accelerated, the speed did not return to the high level and I continued to be unable to see out the window. A repair was attempted, the wiper motor replaced, but no change has resulted. I am told by vw that this is the new design for the wipers and there is nothing to fix. *tr

I was driving to work in my 2010 vw jetta sportswagen tdi and was in a middle of an s turn when my car shut off, as I was coasting I tried to restart my car, when I did so my steering did not work. I was able to negotiate the s turn, but my car would not turn on. I had it towed to my dealer and they checked it out and said that there is water in the inner cooler due to condensation from the air intake. To me this sounds like a design flaw since when I inquired what will prevent this from happening again, they responded that the air intake part has been redesigned to prevent this from happening again. This was a very scary ordeal. If I did not have my wits about me I could have ended in the woods, luckily I was able to navigate the s turn. When I contacted Volkswagen they where willi

This poses a serious safety hazard and I had to pay independent mechanic to remove and replace seat belt. *tr
