While driving on the highway or on city streets, the air bag light comes on an dings about every 20 seconds. I am able to stop the ding by pushing the button to disregard the message. It did this for about 2 weeks. It no longer dings but the air bag indicator light continuously stays lit and the "service airbag" light comes on when the car is started. 2011 camaro v6, 100,000 miles

I bought this car new and has about 85000 miles on it and took it in because of airbag light being on. I was told passenger present sensor needs to be replaced which causes airbag light to remain on when car is moving. This is ridiculous I looked about this claim and there are hundreds of camaros with this exact same issue. This is a $700 replacement and does not sit well with me as I've always bought chevys and not had issues before. This is a safety issue and if I have to pay $700 to fix a safety issue that was defective with this vehicle and several hundred others then this is a manufacture defect that should not fall on consumer to get it replaced. Let me know what can be done here! Thanks *tr

"service air bag" warning light is on in instrument panel. Dealer has made three attempts to repair by using zip ties on specific electrical connections. Problem has not been resolved. *tr

I originally had trouble with the airbag sensor in 2013. I took it to my local dealer who stated they where unable to duplicate the issue. They reset the sensor and it was fine. Now with the vehicle out of warranty anytime some one sits in the passenger seat the service airbag light turns on and off the whole time I am driving. Most recently it has started turning on and off even when no one is in the seat. Returned to dealer for repair and it will be $700 plus to fix. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet camaro. While the contact was driving 35-40 MPH, the rear passenger side quarter panel of his vehicle was struck by a heavy truck. The contact's vehicle spun out of control, struck and ricocheted off a pickup truck, struck and ricocheted off a guardrail, and stopped in the middle of the road. The contact stated that the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact stated that his lower back was sore; however, medical attention was not sought. The vehicle was towed to a body shop. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the insurance company had not determined if the vehicle was destroyed. The passenger's air bag light is on that states the bag is off. Took to dealer and was told the seat sensor needs replaced. Car has 60000 miles. Came on around 52000. Was told that the airbag will not deployed if involved in an accident unless the sensor was replaced. Cost to replace $700.00. Searched and seems to be a problem on this make. Researched NHTSA web site and there are close to 200 complaints for the same thing. Do not know why no recall has been issued do to a safety hazard. Light is on where moving or parked.

The passenger side air bag works about 50% of the time with an adult passenger in the seat. My wife is normal sized, about 5'6" and 160 lbs. The passenger air bag light will also intermittently show on and then off while driving with a passenger, even when the passenger is making no movements. It was been replicated at the dealer, with more than one passenger, including an employee of the dealership. It was also replicated while connected to an odbc2. After four trips to the dealer, they now declare it is "operating as designed" and there will be no more attempted repairs. The vehicle is now out of warranty and still exhibits the issue. I have found several similar complaints on a Chevy forum here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122468 they all mimic my I

I'm writing, because I believe the Chevy camaro may possibly have some faulty parts. Today there was a,deadly crash involving a Chevy camaro that exploded,on impact. Apparently the passengers, burned to death in this vehicle. Since I myself drive a,2011,Chevy camaro I was wondering what would cause this vehicle to,explode. I googled "camaro fire impact" to see,if any possible recalls, how ever I noticed,I came across several articles online where they stated of camaros bursting into, flames, upon impact, and according to these, articles people have died in these vehicles, due,to,the, fires. *tr

While driving my 2011 camaro rs the engine warning light came on then the power train disengaged momentarily all warning lights and ESC failed. The auto transmission would not shift out of 2nd or 3rd gear and the steering became unstable. Warning bells and door locks went off. This car is unsafe to drive and has been returned to the dealer. Despite three times to repair the ESC, the car continues to fail. *tr

The timing chain on my camaro 3.6l was stretched causing the engine to run rough and stall out while driving. The dealership was well aware of the issue based on a service alert from the manufacture. The vehicle had 53000 miles and was repaired at my cost for a know manufacturer defect. Had to get the vehicle repaired for safety because it was unsafe to drive. I believe general motors is issuing recalls for this same engine but on other models.

I took the car to nash Chevrolet in lawrenceville, ga for the recall work on the fob (#14294).they performed the work according to the gm process. The result is unacceptable. Now I have a hole where the key was which is susceptible to dirt and water. See attached picture. The dealer will not correct and defers to the gm. Gm will not correct. You initiated the corrective work and must have approved the process. You all ought to be ashamed of yourselves! I've seen on the internet a replacement plastic "cover" that could be inserted but was never offered the solution. The fee was rumored to be $46. Again, you all ought to be ashamed of yourselves! Don't you think a small circuit board open to the environments is just as dangerous not to mention aesthetically unpleasing? At a Mini

2 weeks ago my car wouldn't start, so my son replaced my starter fuse. Again this past friday december 6th, my car wouldn't start. So I replaced the starter fuse, it blew 4 times. I then had the vehicle towed to gateway Chevrolet & he told me that the fuse box was bad. Both times my car was parked in a area.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet camaro. The contact started the ignition and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. In addition, the vehicle stalled, but was able to restart on the first attempt. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (jim causley Buick GMC truck, 38111 s gratiot ave, clinton, mi 48036) where it was diagnosed that the charcoal canister needed to be replaced. 2011 camaro tires do not grip the road properly & low temperatures like here in n.y. During the winter months. I just purchased this vehicle & at no point was I told that the tires are for summer use only. This is my only vehicle & has to be used all year round. I did not think spending top dollar for a performance vehicle was going to mean that I could only operate it safely 8 months out of the year??? This vehicle was shipped to ny, to be sold in ny! Why would this happen? The tires cannot be trusted & I fear it will cause someone there life. *tr

Throttle body positioner is bad after barely over 3 years of use. Was reducing speed from 55 to 0, after coming off a highway approaching a stop light, and while in neutral "engine power is reduced" warning displayed on screen, vehicle began idling irregularly (bouncing between 800 and 1100 rpms) and then when the light turned green the car would not accelerate. Was able to limp at about 20 MPH until I reached a parking lot, turned the car off and waited a few minutes, restarted and it was fine again. Problem has occurred on 3 separate occasions recently, gm mechanic said throttle body positioner was determined to be at fault. Should not be any faults after 3 years and 40k unless the part itself is faulty. *tr

Which was consistent of 9 MPG less than it should have been getting. Updated 01/05/12

The windshield in my 2011 camaro appears to have optical distortion which creates a ghosting effect that is very distracting. In particular, at night when there are headlights, tail-lights, traffic lights, road signs, and etcetera it is especially bad. This is even seen with sunlight reflections during daytime driving. The reason I feel it is optical distortion in the windshield is because if I raise my head to the very top portion of the windshield, the optical distortion goes away. I feel this is indicative of an anomaly/defect in the windshield itself. I had the windshield replaced once with a new factory windshield and I'm still having the same optical distortion issues. I'm currently trying to have the issue resolved. In my opinion, this is indeed a serious safety hazard in whic
