2011 Chevrolet Corvette owner complaints

Fuel pump cracked and pumping gas outside the tanks onto the car. Fuel pump had to be replaced. Could smell gas inside the car and outside

My 2011 grand sport corvette has a fuel smell/leak on the driver side fuel tank. Gm has already recognized this defect. I need this repair made on this defect made at gm's expense.

Fuel leak from crack in fuel pump. Strong gasoline odor can be detected from driver side rear tire. This is a known common problem with c5 and c6 corvette and can cause fire as fuel leaks is collected in pan next to hot exhaust pipe.

I had just put gas in the car. Parked it and later noticed a gas fuel odor in my garage. After reseaching it on line, this is a known problem with the vehicle. There is a fuel tank issue with the car and gm is not taking responsiblity for it.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump was fractured and leaking fuel. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 20,860.

I bought the 2011 Chevrolet corvette about a years, drove it less then 2000 mile, always fill gas correctly but this following week I got a leak somewhere on my left fuel tank and it smelling bad in my parking garage, fuel leak on the driver side rank.

Gasoline drips out under the car after fill up. About 1/2 quart comes out and makes a puddle about 5 foot in diameter. Happens after every fill up. I turned in a NTHTSA complaint about fuel vapor smells after fill up on 9/6/2020 but heard nothing back. The problem has obviously progressed to leaking liquid gasoline on the ground.

All of a a sudden there is a smell of gas not only in the car but around the car. I think that can be a safety hazard. To date I have no recall of anything on the gas pump or fuel tank

Gas smell in garage after vehicle is parked. Happens randomly and gas cap has been verified to be closed correctly. Also has fumes inside car after being parked under the same circumstances.

I purchased 2011 c6 corvette. I had the corvette repair because I very bad gas smell inside and outside.. So I take it to corvette mechanic. It cost me 4k to fix.. Ouch ..I been looking for recall on this year and found nothing.. I found on 06 corvette. But the samething is happen on the 2011 c6 .. Why? I can't place the vette in my garage because the smell was too bad..

There is a smell of fuel when you get in the car. Looked online and seen several people having the same issue seems to happen when you have more than a half tank of gas. See small drip after sitting under car at front of drivers side rear wheel

Strong smell of gasoline inside and outside of my 2011 c6 corvette grand sport with no visible fuel leaks. The garage is filled with the smell of gas anytime the car is parked with over 1/2 a tank overnight. The local Chevrolet service center quoted $1,600 to pull the fuel tank and replace the left fuel pump. The service writer stated he has seen numerous identical issues on the c6 corvettes and even showed me photos on his phone of where the fuel pump cracks on the the top. My vehicle has 46,000 miles. I no longer feel safe parking my car in my garage next to my gas water heater.

I own a 2011 corvette c6 and in the last 2 months, I get a strong smell of gas that is constant. I have read threads on the corvette forms and found this is a crack in the fuel pump and it leaks out and collects into the pan that supports the gas tank. This is very dangerous and can start a fire along with fumes in the garage and sometime gas water heaters are located in the garage. I cannot believe this is not a recall.

I have a bad rattle noise coming from under the car. It sounds like some bearing, or marbles are loose. It happens when car is in drive and at a stop light or parked. My personal mechanic pinpointed the issue to the torque tube/ flex plate bearings.

Gear shifter failed. Stuck in drive...had to shut car off to stop motion and avoid collision. Other reports indicate numerous similar failures on low mileage corvettes.

The front right brake hose that connects the brake 'hard lines' to the caliper failed. The rubber portion separated from the fitting on the caliper causing complete brake failure. Brake pedal went to the floor and all brake fluid dumped out onto the ground and inside of the wheel. The vehicle was traveling at high speed under hard brake pressure. Miraculously, I was able to swerve around obstacles and avoid serious collision. I'm lucky to be alive to write this complaint. Upon removing the wheel, the brake hose was hanging free of the caliper draining what was left of the contents of the brake system on the ground.

The air bag light on the dashboard appears during vehicle acceleration, while in motion, indicating that the air bag system is no longer functioning. To add insult to injury, I brought the vehicle to gordon Chevrolet (address below) for service. The dealer changed the front impact sensors of the vehicle at my cost. Upon receiving the vehicle back, it immediately reported that the airbag system was still not functioning correctly (air bag light). To this date the dealer refuses to acknowledge the issue, would not refund me for misdiagnoses and will not return my phone calls regarding a remedy to the issue. My husband was pumping gas at a gas station on an interstate access road. Car was not running and was locked. He had been at the pump for about 5 minutes and then walked into the store for something to drink. All of a sudden I heard people yelling and turned to look and then saw my husband's unmanned car slowly rolling out of the gas station into the access road during rush hour. A couple of individuals tried to stop the car but it was locked and my husband had the keys in his pocket. Several vehicles swerved to miss the car but it eventually hit an individual's vehicle in the center lane of the access road causing damage to both vehicles. *tr

The contact stated that the vehicle hydro planned during a rain storm, causing the vehicle to drive into another lane. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer but the manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 1,700.
