I bought this vehicle early 2023. From the moment I bought it I’ve had a loud ticking sound come from the dash or the motor when I start the car also when it’s really hot out. It also didn’t blow cold air. So I had to save up enough money to replace the AC components in my 2011 expedition. After I got it “repaired” It only lasted about six months and that’s being conservative. $2000 later and it’s blowing hot air and still making you loud ticking sound. I pretty much replaced all the components that deal with the AC and the blower. I don’t know what to do anymore, but it makes a loud ticking sound when I’m driving, when I start the car, anytime. And I also don’t have cold air anymore.

Severe neck pain due to driver and front passenger head rests in 2011 Ford expedition. The extreme angle of the front headrests in the new Ford expeditions cause excessive stress and strain on the necks of individuals occupying these seats. Ford has turned the headrests around to alleviate this condition which is unsafe and potentially life threatening. *tr
The vehicle head rest is permanently tilted forward and cant be adjusted. This presents an uncomfortable and unsafe condition when operating the vehicle for long periods of time. In order to get some type of relief during extended driving periods the seat has to be tilted back, which could create another unsafe position. *tr
Driver and front passenger head rests at very acute angles. Without altering the head rests it appears any crash impact would cause both driver and front passenger severe injury. *tr

After picking up this new vehicle driving down the hwy this vehicle made a loud noise coming from the transmission area.. Seconds later the vehicle lock up and sent me into a spin.the vehicle would not go into gear so I called a tow truck and had the vehicle take to the dealership. The dealership replaced the transmission mechatronix unit and the TCM unit.after picking the vehicle I 600 mile more on the vehicle and it did the samething. So I had take it in to another dealership they found that they had to replace the transmission pump gear. So I'm wondering is there a recall on these expeditions. *tr
Traveling down the highway going approximately 70 MPH when the rear wheels locked causing the vehicle to rapidly decelerate and rear end to swerve. Fortunately there were no vehicles immediately behind the vehicle as this would have resulted in a major rear end collision. The rear wheels unlocked after approximately three to four seconds and I was able to coast the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. The powertrain malfunction wrench was lit on the dashboard and the vehicle would not move forward in any gear. I put the vehicle in park, shut off the engine and restarted the vehicle. The wrench on the dashboard extinguished and I was able to drive the vehicle to the dealership utilizing secondary roads. The dealership had the vehicle for three days and contacted Ford engineering for t
While my wife was driving on the interstate with the cruise control set at 78mph, the rear tires on our 2011 expedition suddenly locked up, skidding the tires and caused the vehicle to fishtail she had no control of steering or acceleration. When the vehicle reached approximately 35mph the tires released and she was able to steer into the median. At this point, she could not move the vehicle. There was a picture of a wrench on the dashboard. When she was completely stopped, she put the vehicle in park and sat for a few minutes. She then attempted to put the vehicle in drive, but she had no power. The vehicle was running, but she was unable to accelerate in drive or reverse. She had to call for a tow truck. After the vehicle was towed home, I got in it and started it, then noticed the tract
While on a family trip from tx to fl, the "limp home mode" wrench came on. Pulled over, checked what I could. Got back on the road, about 20 miles down the road, a fine mist starting blowing out the back and the SUV lost all power. Pulled over and call Ford. It was towed to a Ford dealer about 5 miles away. The dealer called monday morning, to say the transmission was blown and needed to be replaced. Well Ford had a different plan, they told the dealer to rebuild. About 60 days and 5000 miles later, "limp home mode" wrench came on again. Drove it about 8 miles to the purchasing dealer. While at the dealer and a Ford tech came out to look at it. Had the dealer, run a bunch of test and only authorized a part replacement. Even at the request of myself and the selling dealer to repla

Winter 2019, passenger side door would not stay closed. Appears to only happen when temperatures are below freezing. Started to happen on drivers side a day later. I've noticed water inside on the sill plate of the vehicle after it rains. I suspect water is making it's way into the door. The issue has returned. Tried to get warranty repairs from original dealership but has gone unanswered. Appears this is a know issue and repairs are covered by an extended warranty. Which I did not get. Working with bbb and Ford corporate on that issue. The passenger door was not fixed either.
On 8/21/17, the latching back window of our 2011 Ford expedition blew out while my husband was parking on a private lot. We did not hit anything, and the glass blew out, not in. Fortunately no one was in the path of the flying glass. Ford refuses to reimburse us for its replacement.
cruise control 2 complaints shown
Stability control applies brakes randomly in normal conditions. Primarily this has been at slow speeds. Brakes pulsate and vehicle is difficult to steer/control. On 12/11/2016 the stability system kicked in at the same time the "resume" button was pressed for the cruise control. The front brakes applied with force as the car was trying to accelerate to 70 MPH with the cruise control. The vehicle began to fishtail and the transmission locked up. I was able to get the car to the side of the interstate, but the vehicle behind me had to swerve into the median to avoid hitting me from behind, and the driver in the right lane was forced to brake to avoid me. The vehicle was travelling at approximately 67 MPH on interstate 85n in south carolina. This problem had been reported to my Ford dealer, b

Door closed sensor is faulty and sounds like this is a known issue with Ford but a recall won't happen till more people complain. I am making my complaint official. Also seeking warranty repairs from the original dealership since the issue has returned.
A fuse that has the driver side window, sunroof, compass, tv's and back window's connected to it keeps going out. We replaced the fuse ourselves for the first time and then it blew again in about 2 weeks. Then I took it to a Ford dealership that is closer to our home town and they replaced the fuse again and said they couldn't find anything that is causing it to keep blowing. About 2 weeks later it blows again. So I take it back to the same Ford dealer and they were hesitant to try to fix it again. They said it could possibly spark fire if they keep changing it out and they would take it back to the dealership where it came from. So we replace it again and it blows 1 week later this time. Remind you that we special ordered this vehicle in february 2011, it has 47,000 miles on it. So I ta
airbags 1 complaint shown
Vehicle never before in collision. Front bumper fully contacted with smaller SUV, sustaining significant front-end damage. Only passenger front airbag deployed, despite there being no passenger in seat (pocketbook weighing only few pounds on the seat, certainly not enough to trigger occupancy sensors). My question is two-fold: why did airbag deploy in empty passenger seat? And more importantly, why did it not deploy in occupied driver seat? Is there ever a non-offset front-end collision where force of impact requires only one of two airbags to deploy? *tr
