On tuesday morning, december 27, 2016 just as I was pulling into the parking space at my office a light flashed on the panel and read "power steering fault" and all of a sudden I could not turn the steering wheel. I turned the engine off and waited about 2-hours before starting it again. Now the message read "service steering now". I contacted Ford's roadside assistance and they came the next day and towed my truck to upper marlboro Ford as they are down the street from my home. The service department said the steering rack needs to be replaced for a cost of $2000. Furthermore, that part is only available through Ford and I've now read where hundreds of other Ford f150 owners had the same problem.

The most recent incident resulted in transmission having a harsh downshift to first gear causing vehicle to jerk and engine revs up. This has happened several times in the past including a few days before taking it in for the recall repair in 2019. ( recall 19v -075). This problem, according to Ford, is due to intermittent failure of the output speed sensor ( part of the molded leadframe in the transmission). Two latest incidents occurred on a city street. Have had at least one occasion on an expressway where vehicle had very jerky transmission shift while in cruise control. Have complained about this to Ford and took the vehicle in on two occasions ( see attached invoices). The problem has never been resolved and no warning messages or trouble codes have been found during the repairs. Fo

I got a recall letter. Recall #19s07. I took my truck to Ford dealership, they reprogrammed the module for the powertrain on 6/19. My extended warranty ran out 11/30/19. On 12/21/19 I was driving on the highway and I had my cruise set at 67 MPH. All of a sudden my gauges stopped working and had a tool show up on dash. Then my tires started sliding and it downshifted. I almost hit another car. I pulled over as soon as I could and stopped my truck. I restarted my truck and all the gauges were back to normal.I drove it for 2 days without any recurrences.I think reprogramming the module is only a temporary fix. Now everytime I drive it, it will down shift. I drove 35 MPH and returned home and had to keep it in low speed.so apparently the reprogramming is not a fix. It is still unsafe and now

Used automatic starter today around 4:30pm. The temp today was in the 20s here in western maryland. While driving home I noticed the rear window passenger side panel was completely shattered. Upon inspection there was no impact area. Just the entire panel was very spider webbed. I will be contacting Ford before I file an insurance claim. This is absolutely a defect with the design of these windows. Ford needs to recall these before a child gets injured from shattered glass. My kids heads are very close to this glass. I'm sure if this happened when traveling at a high speed it could cause any injury. Ford needs to step up and address this before it becomes a big lawsuit. *js

This repair was not covered by Ford and in my opinion it should be. Here's my story: my husband owns a 2011 f150 with approximately 25,000 miles on it. On december 27, 2014 he turned on the rear defroster to clear the window. As he was driving less than a mile from home, the truck had been running about 3 minutes he smelled rubber burning, at which time there was thick white smoke coming from the outside of the passenger rear window and the glass behind my grandson's car sear shattered due to a short in the heating element of the rear defroster. Fortunately our 18 month old grandson was not in the truck as the shards of glass were falling out of the window into his seat. Ford will not cover glass under my warranty. I have pictures of the damage and I have included the link below w

Going up a steep hill in colorado on interstate i70 and the truck started hopping and lurching, dropping my speed from 60-40. The truck lost power almost causing me to be rear-ended on a busy highway. Due to the steepness of the climb, I had to pull over on the side of a busy highway. The dealership said this is a misfire common in the ecoboost trucks. This was the third time this happened going up a steep grade on a busy highway, causing power to decrease drastically. Truck had to be towed to a dealership. I was told it was cracked spark plugs, common in the ecoboost engine. I was very angry to find out I had to pay for the repairs as it is considered normal wear and tear and not under my extended warranty. I have read from other f150 ecoboost owners that this is a problem. Ford

Returning home from a weekend camping trip with my family and pulling a travel trailer via I-81 in va, I depressed the accelerator approaching a long hill, and abruptly lost all engine and drive power, the engine shuddered violently, the transmission downshifted to lower gear and the check engine light flashed a few times. We had absolutely no power and I thought the engine was going to shut off. I was in the 2nd lane from the right and had to quickly move to the right lane then to the shoulder to avoid being hit from behind. This was very dangerous while pulling a 34' travel trailer. I had to pull the vehicle to the shoulder and stop completely to regain control. I had to put the truck in park and turn it off before it returned to somewhat normal drivability.
