While driving, the advance trac light came on. Then an error message telling me to service power steering. The wheel suddenly became hard to turn while driving. There was no advanced warning. As soon as the light came on, the car became difficult to steer. *js

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 MPH, the vehicle lost power steering functionality while the contact was attempting to steer the vehicle into a parking lot. The contact stated that the "Power Steering – Service Now" message was displayed. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the steering gear and the front driver’s side and rear passenger’s side tires needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and the contact was informed Customer Satisfaction Program Number: 15N01 (EPAS Steering Efforts) had expired and the vehicle out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000.
A safety recall work on the power steering occurred june 2019. The power steering failed at 60mph on 12/29/2020. Was told by dealership, you now have to pay for the repairs. I never believed the repairs were completed because the same groaning noise continued afterwards. Ford needs to do what is right.
Driving about 40 MPH and the "power steering failure" light appeared and the steering felt heavier. I pulled off the road and turned off the car for about 5 minutes. When the car was turned back on the message did not reappear. Vehicle mileage is about 140k.
My power steering assist fault light came on my car. I turned it off and back on and it went off and everything seemed fine. This morning I get in my car to come work and the power steering assist fault light came on. I turned off the vehicle and then turned it back on, this time it did not go off and the power steering was no driveable at all. I had to have my car towed to the Ford dealership because it wasn't driveable and then was told that they had no vehicles to loan to us to drive. Unacceptable in our book!
I was driving into a left turn at a green light and the power steering went out, luckily I was going slow enough to fight with the steering wheel to make the turn. It could have easily been an accident if I was not aware of cars and how they function. That was about a week ago and now today the same thing happened except I was making a right turn and I was not able to stay on my side of the street because of how tough it was to turn, no cars were around so I just stopped and turned the car off for a min then when I started it back up it was like nothing happened.

The contact stated that she pulled over and turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that he called the Ford dealer who informed him to turn the vehicle off and restart. The contact stated that the vehicle was restarted and operated normally. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or independent mechanic for diagnoses or repairs. Again, the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnoses or repairs. The contact stated, however, in Dec
While driving my 2011 Ford fusion sel v6 on december 25th, 2014, the advance track light came on. It stayed on until I parked the car in the garage about 10 miles (15 minutes) later. Two days later, on a trip from north carolina to kentucky, the advance track light came on again. This time it came on and stayed again until the car was parked at the final destination in kentucky. It stayed on for about 50 miles +/-. Later in the day, I got in the vehicle to take a short trip to the grocery store. When I started down the road, at approximately 30 MPH, the "service power steering" and " service advance track system" error codes popped up and the power steering just quit working. I still had steering in the car but it took most all the strength I had (and I'm no small guy) to muscle t
I was driving the vehicle and the skid/slide light came on. Not much longer the power steering/advancetrac warning came on and I completely lost power steering, almost running off the road. *tr

I was driving my 2011 Ford fusion hybrid at around thirty MPH on a city street and my brake system warning light popped up on the dashboard. As soon as that happen I had no brakes, and there was no resistance in the brakes. They went straight to the floor, luckily I was able to stop the car with my emergency brake. I restarted the car and the brakes worked fine after that.
After starting the vehicle and putting the car in reverse with the brakes engaged, the vehicle kept reversing even with the brakes completely depressed. The brakes engaged after a couple of seconds and after that they worked normal. This issue has happened 3 more times since this first incident and the pattern has always been the same. *js
The ABS control unit failed and almost made me crash in the highway on n 680 exit treat blvd ,and I spent $1500 just to find a solution. This is a recall that needs to be addressed.

I was driving 40 - 45 MPH and suddenly I lost acceleration and the car stalled. It seemed to have fell out of gear as the car did not 'die', there was no longer any response in the gas pedal. I utilized what remaining speed I had to navigate to a safe place to pull off the road. I turned off the car and turned it on again and could drive again. This happened 2 more times on the way home (total distance from first failure to 3rd failure was less than 2 miles). Each time the car is shut off and restarted the 'wrench' / check engine line does not return. I had it towed to Ford dealership today, however after reading the countless experiences of the same exact ordeal, I felt it necessary to capture this incident here. While pulling into a parking space the and depressing the brake vehicle suddenly jolted forward crashing into a post. The check engine light came on indicating there was a problem. We have reported to Ford on multiple occasions that the car surges when coming to a stop. We have been informed that they are unable to do anything without an error code. After the insurance company repaired the car we drove it to Ford. Unfortunately we were told that the error code will clear after driving a "complete cycle" or "running a vehicle health report". Both were completed and Ford repair tech's say this is a known issue but without a code they can not do anything about it. I own 2 Ford 2011 fusions. The other car had an issue where it would frequently stall or go "limp" as Ford calls it. Much l

While attempting to open driver door to exit the vehicle, door latch mechanism inside of door broke causing latch to become inoperable thus causing me to roll down the window and exit the vehicle from the exterior door handle. The vehicle was stationary, in park, in my home driveway. Unless I roll the window down and open the door using the rear latch, I cannot exit the vehicle. In a crash situation, or a situation in which the window is iced up and cannot lower, exiting the vehicle could be impossible and dangerous. When I reported it to my local service tech, he stated that it was a common issue.
